Do you have any example of Norwegians be caught abroad and fined for buying sex. (Thailand, Germany are obvious destination.)

don't take the banter too seriously. Don't explode. You serve a greater purpose on this board. :-)

The article is more about France's political posturing against Germany. A quote from the article you linked,"In the eurozone, deficits are being reduced. But debt. In many cases. Is still growing. Growth is almost non-existent. Recession has returned for countries like Spain and Italy. The gap between the German economy and the southern economies is only widening."

    Thank god for Germany. :-)

A proper "casino" is called "Speilbank" in German. You will need your passport to enter and there is a dress code. I don't know what you want to play, but you can probably find it at Speilbank Bad Homburg or, better yet, Speilbank Weisbaden, where they run Hold 'them cash games and NL tournaments virtually every night. You can reach both places via public transport (e. G. S-bahn) and there used to be a shuttle bus to Speilbank Bad Homburg from right in front of Frankfurt Hbf.

    Magnum Sauna Club?

Has anybody been to this place yet? I was looking at their website and it looks like only non-alcoholic beverages are covered in their 50 euro cover charge. Odd when their competition usually includes beer (with exception). They also list a garden and what sounds like a large 12 person whirlpool but there are no photo's of these on their website.

    Are brothels legal in Belgium?

I know prostitution is legal in France but brothels are not. Are brothels legal in Belgium?

I agree with you 100% that is illogical and makes no sense to try and apply one country's laws to activities in another country. Just to clarify though, the local police are not expected to enforce them. It is the native country that would try to enforce it once you return. Interestingly US law does not work like that. For example, the secret service agents who had sex with prostitutes cannot be prosecuted for prostitution since they performed an act that is not illegal in the country they are in. Of course, they will find other ways to show that the SS agents violated other US laws but that is a different discussion.

Because women are always the victims. However, at the same time women should be equally represented in goverment, company boards and all the way down to blue collar jobs. Modern women are victims and empowered business types at the same time. Explain THAT logic to me if you can.

haha, just my thought as well. or as one of my ignorant buddies said: why do they complain, they get paid to fuck. i would love to get paid to fuck!

the results of the current law against buying sex in the scandinavian countries is not really surprising. the girls involved in the sexbusiness are more than ever victims of sexual abuse and violence. now don't you ever think that this trade disappears because there are some socialist fucked up-politicians that think they can regulate everything with laws. it only gets hidden, and most of the sextrade is now in apartments / hotels and communicated on the various internet pages for escorts.

last year there were a boom in [CodeWord124] and sexual violence in oslo. this is not due only to the new law, as 90% of the [CodeWord127] are foreigners from countries like somalia / pakistan / iran. but many people and politicians (on the right wing) believe that the welfare and the security of the girls would be better if they abolished this sextrade-law.

I guess the people of Norway vote for their politicians and then they make stupid laws. The European Parliament is of no use here though as Norway is not a member state of the EU.

How fucking lame is that? How can a country claim that their laws are superior to the laws of the country you are visiting? Would they use the same stupid logic if a Norwegian drove 200 km / h at the Autobahn, because it is forbidden in Norway? Or would they prosecute a Norwegian for smoking illegal substances in one of the coffeeshops in Amsterdam, while it is legalised in the Netherlands, but forbidden in Norway?
I hear left wing liberal feminist intellectual activists in the United States praise these laws as forward thinking. You know the ladies I am talking about. These are the wire glasses wearing hair-clipped ugly ladies with the chips on their left shoulder. The same ladies no one ever wanted to fuck. They keep saying "We have to punish the men." We had this debate on MERB. Ca in the wake of a bull-shit report from Fox News about 14 year old girls being pimped into prostitution in Atlanta. The report claimed the girls start out as dancers in a strip clubs and then move to prostitution. This is of course a crock of shit. The strip clubs are highly regulated and every girl has a State Licence which hangs in the managers office. Of course Fox is a right wing slanted organization but all the intellectuals pushing this exploitation of women agenda and we have to punish the men in NA are leftists. Why not just make it legal like Germany I say? I wish someone would pay me for sex.

Last year, one of the MPs in the Norwegian Parlament was given a fine of more than 3000 euros for having purchased sex from a girl in one brothel in Riga, Latvia. Of course he was representing the liberal right wing party, the only party that wants to make prostitution legal and have their own RLD areas in Oslo.

Can anyone explain how this is even legally possible, to fine somebody for having purchased sex in a country where this is perfectly legal? Where is the European Parlament in Strasbourg when you need them.
