A strong and growing opinion in non-German speaking Europe is that harsh economic remedies are being forced on primarily Southern European countries (particularly at the behest of Germany) at a time when these same countries are in major recession. The effects of this depression are therefore made significantly worse for these Southern European countries.
This leads other Eurozone countries to form an opinion that because Germany is not itself currently in recession, it is finding it particularly easy to recommend harsh measures for other Eurozone countries. Rather than leading the Eurozone, the feeling is that Germany is just looking after its own narrow interest. Hence the reference to the Spanish minister;"One Spanish minister compared the country to the Titanic and had a warning for the Germans: "If there's a sinking here, even the first-class passengers drown."
Obviously most of us are familiar with the ill-famed Titanic (in this case representing the Eurozone) which struck an iceberg and sunk on its maiden trans-Atlantic voyage.
I think that the likely next President of the French Republic is not posturing politically, but accurately reflecting the opinion outside of Germany i.e. that major economic stimulation is required within the EU. Of course German public opinion will come around to this way of thinking as soon as the current unforgiving economic climate which is devastating so many EU countries also starts to affect Germany.
Unfortunately, we must look to others to lead the EU (not Germany). Lets hope its not too late by then to save the Eurozone.

Kaefers is just a nice environment, food is ok, expensive, drinks are too expensive. Lot's of nice restaurants, bars and bistros in Wiesbaden, in the old part (Schiffchen) , also at Taunusstrasse.

Kaefers is great food, for sure and served in a top environment. I love the wood carving in this Spielbank! But, to be honest, there's better food for less money in Wiesbaden, if you know where, or care to schlepp.
But for low buy-in (75euro) Texas Hold 'em tournaments 3 x a week, the Spielbank Wiesbaden reeigns. I often spend one of my nights re-charging in Wiesbaden in between multiple session nights at BHH or Pohlheim.

Posts: 7121Just to make sure, it is spelled Wiesbaden and Spielbank. Actually the casino in Wiesbaden is in the "Kurhaus", a very nice building. Te adjacent restaurant is "Käfers", good food in a nice environment.
