Planning a visit to Rio over July 4th week. Been reading various posts on the site. Would appreciate a bit of information.

My last trip to Rio was in 2008. Had a great time dancing with a couple of girls at Help. Wondering of there is a replacement for Help. A bit confused with the verious posts on Balcony. Is there a night club or two where I can hang out with pro's and semi pro's around? Where has all the action moved to with Help gone. Would like to recreate a great time I had years ago in Rio.

i admire your combatant skills, however, i do agree with sperto on this issue. i have never used any of the prives, or casa's toilets where patrons have urinated with their eyes closed. however, i do admit using showers at the tier 1 termas. not that anything wrong with it, i seek to to avoid public bathrooms. using vila vimousa's toilet? i wouldn't exploit them even if my life depends on it.

Including some mentions of two of my faves from last trip, vivien and raica who I did twice. I figure of brasileiros are mentioning them as good fucks, they are probably ok. .

The main topic is just each man's preference in mongering lifestyle in Rio. FWIW, my pro forma week is something like this:

MTWTh. Pernoite at Motel Malaga or Motel Barao Do Flamengo because of being able to walk to Mosaico or to get the Scortshow girl over to the motel with a phone call at no cab fare.

F. Pernoite at Motel Fluminense at Rua do Invalidos 176 (120R) because it is in lapa during a street party that goes from 9 PM to 3 AM at least.

SSu. Pernoite at a motel (pousada) in Buzios because it is hard to get scorts after noon on Saturday and through Sunday night, and Buzios is beautiful.

Again, that fits Buttman Backpacker, but I lived out of the stuff on my back for years as a profession.

Next trip, I plan to hit even more of the motels (list below) for pernoites, with the goal being to session and pernoite in one in each district at least on the next trip. For example, I didn't make it to a barra sex motel or a zona oest sex motel on my last trip. I will also be better prepared to hit the opportunity session. For example, I took a girl from Mosaico over to Niteroi on the barca. We went shopping. We had lunch. If I had my list of motels on my smartphone, I would have just grabbed a cab and had lunch after sex at the local sex motel from the list, instead of buying lunch in Niteroi shopping.

VM is nasty, but a terma like 4x4 opens at 2 PM, and between all the toiletries and saunas, I use 10 towels, shave everywhere, and sit on the lawn chairs in the sauna and watch Brazilian TV if the soap opera in the boate gets tiresome. If Hemingway were alive today, I reckon he'd write Sun Also Rises in the smoking room in back.

My first 11 trips to Brazil, I always got an apartment in copa or ipanema. Then I started to go over to Barao because the hotforum boards kept making reference to Barao do Flamengo hotel. Easy metro trip. Then, I realized: A) it would save requested 50R cab fare for the girl, and B) I get new sheets and towels every time at Barao, which makes a difference if you are having one or two girls over to the apartment every day and the staff only cleans once a week.

I smile when I imagine me taking a dump at Tigresas Tijucanas or even worse at Vila Mimosa. Never happened and never will.

Morning runs, privê-visits, walk a GF's dog, beach, churrasco, evening beer, do some cooking, meeting friends and party. I couldn't stand staying in Rio for a longer period without an apartment. A nice quarto and sala half a block from the beach cost me roughly about R$80 / night. I like to get settled in with my own gear, my home base.

However I understand your point about staying at a motel. When I used to stay at a motel for 2 weeks in Manaus (diária, R$50/24 hours) I thought it was great. Always a clean room, giant bed, frigo bar, mirrors everywhere, jacuzzi (which I also used as a washing machine for my clothes) , room-service, radio, TV (and porno-channels) and never any hazzel when bringing women back home (on the contrary, they would complain if I went to a forró club and returned home alone). [Note: The last years I've given up staying at a motel in Manaus. I prefer a large apartment with a balcony with a wonderful sunset view over Rio Negro. R$60. ]

The motel looks decent. You have to pack your stuff together every day and can't stay at the motel between 12-20. Doesn't it bother you that you have to leave your room every day? During 8 hours you've no place to chill out, take a shower or take a the*mp.

When I used to stay in a motel on my earlier visits to Manaus I negotiated a good price for staying 24 hours. Have you tried that?

I'll remember Hotel Barão do Flamengo. It could be an option if I arrive in Rio and need a place to stay for a day or two while waiting to enter an apartment.

Sunday I though will also check Luomo, but I met lucia at my place at around 7 and then we had a good time, it was nice knowing her more and I realiused she was a good gf material girl with good thinking and positive mentality, I haad asked her what she expected for 3 hrs at my place and she replied 30? LOL I guess one 5 feet and another 5. 1) and really lost respeted from all the girls and I was also feeling bad the way they get up and pull a girl fro the bar take her to their spot and sit witht them for sometime and pull another.
