The towels have a horrible residue on them, which didn't seem to be properly rinsed or dried, just not the right feel.

The staff is a bunch of thieves and stole $500 from me and the manager basically blamed me for it, which is partially right since I let it happen.

This place is no where near the strip and some maps of the area is confusing or misleading.
Try Hotel Mango, hotelmango. Com. 809 523 6477.

The rooms were in good repair, a / see worked, water was hot, no staff issues. The manager, Karl, was a helpful and nice guy. They will pick / drop you at the airport for $25 (if I remember correctly) if you give them a call. I believe we paid $35 / night. Good security and no chica fees. Cedulla is required).

Maybe a 10 minute walk to Duarte and the beach area and fairly close to a couple casas (One was called 'Playboy' something and the other 'The Candy Shop'). A few locks away on Juan Bautista Vicini was another, ' Casa Iraisa). The casa's all started around 3000DOP and more for s. T. I didn't take anyone from any of them, so I don't know what sort of deal you can work.

The bus stop for Expreso Boca Chica is in Parque Enriquillo, the location is pined on my map. There are buses and publicos that runs Ave. Independencia that make a stop there. A cab to Parque Enriquillo should cost around 150 pesos. Buses have a / c and are clean and in good condition, not as confortable as Metro buses but the trip is only 30 minutes. Be sure to ask for Expreso Boca Chica bus, there is other Boca Chica bus that makes stops along the route and will take near an hour to get to BC. Buses depart when all or almost all seats are sold why can take only a couple of minutes or more than 15 minutes depending of the time of the day. My experience is that waiting time for bus to depart took between 5 to 10 minutes.

    Boca Chica Bus

[QUOTE=OldKool; 1283542]Bus to boca chica 3 dollars. Cab 35 to 50. SD to air port is $35 BC is 15 miles futher do the math. I have learned to use all the local transport. It saves money and is fun. The Buses are excellent on time and comfortable. To BC you have some other options that varey I comfort but are reliable. I tend to be tight with my cash. I will pay 50 dollars for a cab. When I can use a 7 dollar bus.

[There is a guagua (Domincan for any kind of bus) that leaves from Santo Doming abut every 15 minutes. Don't know the exact address, but it is about three blocks from the Plaza Lama store. Ask any taxi for "Guagua a Boca Chica." It costs less than three dollars and is pretty much non stop until it gets near BC. Going in the other direction, these are the same buses that you see stopping at the park in BC. Going to SD you may have to transfer to a different guagua a few miles down the main highway. They are air conditioned, cheap, and pretty quick.

Incidentally, a trick for taxis from the airport that works in lots of countries: Go upstairs to departures, walk outside, and negotiate with a driver who is leaving people off. You should be able to get a car for half the tourist rate you are quoted downstairs. Some drivers are not authorized to make airport pickups. Others just don't want to sit around waiting for a fare.

Were do you catch this bus in santo domingo to boca chica

From the Boca Chica station you can catch a bus to where you want to go. If I remember correctly the destination of the buss is above the windscreen. You get on the correct bus and when they get ready they leave and collect the money while you are moving down the road. I last took the bus to Santo Domingo in 2010 and the price was 60 pesos.

I often think it would be cheap to take a taxi to the Boca Chica station and then ride the bus to Santo Domingo rather than paying the $40 for a taxi all the way to SD.

You are correct. The thing is that at least to my knowledge, booking direct while on the spot after checking the room often times gives you a better rate in the D. R.compared to online rates.in the cheaper hotels at least. I have no idea about the all inclusive kind.

Most of Latin America the cabs are cheap to use. Not so in the DR. I'd take a bus over a taxi anytime in the DR.

I would stay at Zapata just for the daytime action at the beach, you can literally cut off all the girls as they walk buy while your sitting in your beach chair.

I know two people that like staying there

(I never did, however I looked at an apartment in the older section and it was ok-the people on site were very friendly).

    Question

Is the appartment "Jardin de Hany" chica friendly? Any other place like that. Quite at night? And not far from the action?

    Thanks a lot.

Will be my first time in DR. In July
