So, I installed WeChat. I have mixed feelings. First, it is addictive. It is cool to see who is nearby. The original poster was wrong about nearby distance. It will show people as close as 100 meters, not 1000 meters. That's quite close. But I don't know how accurate it is.

The "throw a bottle" feature is interesting. You toss out a random comment anyone can pick up. The analogy is putting a message in a bottle, see who picks it up. It can end up anywhere. I got a lot of responses from Thailand. Best to say in your note where you are, and who you want responses from.

One chick that showed up nearby was showing photos of her cleavage (modest) and her crotch. So I sent her a message that was quite direct. Her identity was "prettypartygirl" so I asked her if she wanted to party. Her response was immediate: "Shut up. Asshole." A bit of a temper!

I've had much happier chats with others.

One big surprise: right after installing it, I got hailed by a massage parlor girl I visit frequently near my home. I had no idea she was on WeChat.

Negative comments: You can't select text in the girls profiles for translation. So there is no way to tell what they are posting on their profile if you can't read Chinese. Chat is different. You can translate that text.

I just HAVE to share this latest though. I go through a bit of history first, but read through (or skip to) the end if you want to know more about Freebie experience.

A friend of mine suggested a couple of months ago that I install Weibo on my iPhone. This is the chatting app that is linked to QQ. So following his suggestion, set up a QQ account and then got Weibo setup on my iPhone. Really a snap, took all of 5 minutes to do everything needed. Once on Weibo, you can of course add your friends from your stored calendars if you want, but for me, I use my JamesB5252 moniker only for purposes of my carnal pursuits. So I did not use this feature.

The featured I DID Start using was the Social button. What this does is to identify Weibo users who are close to you (sometimes shows within 1000m, other times 2000m). You can filter to ask to only see Women (which is what I did). Once you've found someone you want to try to talk to, you send a very short greeting (about 40 English characters or so. Though the actual number is based on Chinese characters I think) and then the person will either accept to connect with you or not.

Read the other posts following that one. It is not Weibo that you need to install but WeChat.

Hello guys.please no flaming responses, just looking for some help while staying in Beijing. I am 1x a month visitor to HKG, SZx and PVG and know the places and scenery very well in those places. However I am complete newbie in Beijing and given the location of my hotel and hours of workshop / conference I will be attending, I can use some pointers.

I will be staying at Crowne Plaza (Address: No. 106 Zhi Chun Road Hai Dian District Beijing. 100086). I stayed there last year and I swear to god, the hotel is in boon docks and I did not see any possible places to get some action anywhere near that goddamned hotel! I desperately need some help if you know of any places near this hotel.any clubs, pick up bars etc. I know the famous places in BJ such as Maggies, Suzie Wong etc but I doubt I am anywhere close to those places. Also given the BJ traffic, I doubt I can have a successful expedition out to any of these bars and bring home the goodies. During my last year stay, I had to fly in one of regulars from Hong Kong to BJ for 3 days. This time around I want to see some local action.

If anyone has any advice, it will be greatly appreciated.

I decided to go there for the purpose to scout the place late hour. Once again, it was only a cruising trip, and my first there.
