The economy in Costa Rica is also pretty good when you exclude broke gringos with their failed development and tourism projects. There are 30 USA companies with operations in the free trade zone. Computer microchips and medical components have become the top exports. Intel Corporation is responsible for 7 percent of the GDP of Costa Rica. Not only did they build a billion dollar chip fabrication plant here, they outsourced their worldwide IT operations to Costa Rica. The list includes Boston Scientific, Proctor and Gamble, St. Jude Medical, and Glaxo Smith Kline.
Two months ago when the dollar started falling the Costa Rican Central Bank injected $130 million to prop up the dollar. The central bank interest rate here is 10. 25% and its less than 1 percent in the USA.
When the multinationals pay the monthly Christmas bonus the value of the dollar drops for a week of two. This is because of the massive influx of USA dollars to meet the payroll. There are many workers who earn a great deal more than $700 a month.
America, if you were wondering where your jobs went, then come visit those jobs in Costa Rica.

Hello fellow travelers. I will in San Jose on 8/30 and staying the Del el Rey. Is there any new spots to check out? Ex: massage parlors, regular night clubs where the Chica hangout at? I have been to San Jose since Jan 2008.

I'd seen Carla in the Pirate Club a few times with her sister. Both have long thin bodies, and both have a look that tells you they're nasty in the sack. I dropped by Friday night to begin my tour of the city, and Monica walked by looking good. She told me she wanted to show me her BJ skills, so I decided to spend my hard earned 17k ($34) colones on a half an hour session.
In the room, Carla delivered every bit of her promised skills and more. I haven't had a blow job like that in a very long time. But the problem with getting a blowjob like that, and trying not to blow too early, is that once you start fucking, your nut is much harder to get.
I pounded Carla relentlessly, after about 40 minutes, the knock came to let us know our 30 minutes was up. I told them to extend it, and we continued. A few minutes later, I blew a huge load. I took a shower and headed downstairs, paid the hour rate, and hung out with Ken some more.
Here's the thing I really like about the Pirate Club, versus a lot of night spots on San Jose.
First, no other place has the class to let you finish and settle up when you go back downstairs. Also, they charged me the hour rate (24k) instead of grifting me for another half hour. Most places in town have you getting dressed, going back to the register, and starting the process all over again.
Second, none of the other places have a shower and clean facilities. Le Grillon, Nicole's, Monaco, or any other place of it's kind, none have showers, and none have any class. They view you as a chump. From the moment you walk in, they start trying to get as much money out of you as they can, while giving you the least amount of pleasure.
Carla. (Sorry for the tacky watermarks, but I've seen my pics around the net lately)

Posts: 345In December, the scene is very much alive, but Costa Ricans get their mandatory Christmas bonus. They call it the 13th month. Which means every tico in town is out trying to get rid of it as soon as he can. The night spots are bull of guys pissing money away like gringos.
Which means there's much more competition.

Hey guys,
What are your thoughts of mongering around January 10?
It is the only week I can get off!

I can't seem to find any airlines that do this. Does anyone know of any realtively inexpensive regional airlines?
Gracias!

Posts: 223CultureShock & Keg, Thanks for your opinions! Appears CR is no different than any other destination. Christmas / New Year is just not a good time for mongering

In the past I have been to the northern areas, Tamarindo and spots down along the Nicoya Peninsula.
Have a fun trip!

My first visit would like a little logistics advice. I arrive noon on Fri 8/24 return 1pm on Sat 9/1. After a long flight I thought I would stay in san Jose the first night. Then to Jaco for Sat and Sunday. Further to Manuel Antonio for a couple days to surf. Or is there a better surf spot before MA? Back to San Jose for Wed-Sat. Is this to much travelng?
Thanks
