I went to one the clubs last week (suggested by my taxi driver after Club Photo was already closed at 3:00am) and can't remember the name! (First sign of aging?) I believe he called it "Scandalosa" but I can't locate such a club on the Internet. I had a good time there. I'd appreciate if the Forum members could assist me in identifying the club. I'll post a report.

I recall the taxi driver turned left at Ana Rosa station (coming from Ave Paulista direction) and went some distance before turning right and driving about 2 to 3 kms before we reached the club. As I reviewed the map of SP, it appears the club is in either Vila Mariana area or in Ipiranga. The club is in a multi-storied building with a parking garage on the lower level for patrons. Entrance fee is R$200, which include 3 or 4 drinks. Take elevator / lift to first floor with double-volume bar and disco / dance area and to the right a dining area (Sushi bar, if I recall correctly). Connected to the club is its own "hotel" with rooms at R$130 per hour. The ccard receipt for the entrance fee states "SC" and gives "R Cel Diogo 1195, Sao Paulo" and for the hotel room the receipt states "SCAN" with "Av Antonio J de Mouro Andrade, Sao Paulo".

Scandallo Lounge in Ipiranga (zona sul paulistana.) Not hard to find: I Googled "R Cel Diogo 1195, Sao Paulo" then used google street view to find the building, low and behold, name of the club is on it: Scandallo. Google "scandallo, sao paulo, br" =

If you can read Porto, the above link is very interesting. According to the report, there is a Brazilian Senate committee's proposal to decriminalize brothels. (WOW!) This would end police corruption by the brothel owners. The report also has a graphic, showing the layout of the club. Google search also found a review by Cartman from last year on a competing site. He was not impressed by the club. Perhaps it's changed. How about an updated review of the place JT?

Well, I was out and about on Sunday evening, really nothing planned, just a quiet night.

After reading many of the good reports here, I paid my first visit to Redway late last week. Easy to find and a brisk walk from the Santa Rosa station.

I arrived around 9:00pm, and was met by a very friendly Vani. Four other hobbiest were seated in the reception area. My first time hanging out with fellow mongers! And, what a pleasant experience. Yes. It's now my fav vacation destination. I was there recently. Tashkent is a highly enjoyable and clean city, climate is just perfect (nonetheless a bit too hot in summer) , and cost of life is next to nothing. The women are something to behold and incredibly diverse, there is an abundance of blond Slavs, Persians, Tatars, Central Asians, Caucasians (Georgians, Armenians, Chechens, etc) , Koreans, and just about everything in between. The ethnicities and the mixtures in Uzbekistan are the result of centuries of diverse invasions and of forced relocations during the Soviet period (some 1. 500 000 Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, people from Caucasus region, ect were relocated to Tashkent by Stalin during WW2). Truly exotic. Furthermore, Uzbekistan is culturally as interesting, if not more, than Brasil (Silk Road cities are a wonder).

+1. Rs300 is normal (and even rather cheap) for a world-class city flooded by money as Sao Paulo. Some guys don't have a clue about what is brasilian economy nowadays (rolleyes).

Agree here. Senior execs in SP are routinely sucking down R$20. 000+ per month in salary, often times a lot more. And that's not even including the really wealthy guys. Honestly R$20K isn't that much even by US standards. But it puts throwing R$300 into perspective, if you're spending it 2 or 3 or 6 or 8 times per month.

It's unfortunate. But it's the current economic truth. The latest union-guaranteed raises in RJ for IT employees was 6. 7% (if you had worked a full year). Inflation is still an issue. It affects the garotas as much as the execs.
