for my final night in sosua, which was a wednesday evening, i was going to hit the main street bars scene. i realized that this was the scene that was perhaps the one where there was most potential for drama and trouble from the girls (and other local characters) but i had already done the blackbeard's thing earlier in the week and passions the night before just didn't work out for me. so it was time to do the big show in town!

for me, another issue was that not only in sosua but also at blackbeard's, i only liked maybe 10 to 20% of the girls. but perhaps as long as that 10 to 20% are available for me, i would return to dr. the sosua bar scene is a bit more advanced in order to reduce any possible trouble but totally doable, even for a first time dr visitor like myself if one sticks to the proven tactics that others have passed onto us.

There are several places selling fresh fried fish in the street and a good Italian ice-cream place. Also you can make day trips to places like Saona Island. It is conveniently close to Santo Domingo airport, which may have cheaper flights than Puerto Plata airport.

Other than that you would be better off in Sosua from the point of view of accommodations and feminine company.

Transport

I flew into Santiago de los Caballeros (I live in Colombia) and having done some research into the location of metrobus / caribe tours decided to take a taxi to Sosua which costs around $100. A lot of money but after travelling since the early morning via PC the last thing you want to do when you've been thinking about pussy all week is waste another 3 hours in a bus. I arrived at 3pm and the bus left a5 5. 45pm. Fuck that.

Sosua

Sosua was different to what I expected, perhaps it takes several trips to get used to and know well. Its easy to get around but I expected Pedro Clisant to be different, much bigger and more lively. In saying that Clasicos was closed and I didn't stay out that late as I had diving trips early morning. Theres plenty of restaurants, hotels, bars and all you need shops, drug stores etc. Jury is out until my next trip.

Hotel New Garden

Was not that impressed, no hot water, water pissed down from ceiling, pool was crap, facilities are crap and on site working girls are skanky. In Sosua they could find any hoe to be on tap, why those? Will try another hotel next time.

The Bars

When I arrived on Tuesday, I had a look around and wasnt that impressed with the bars. DLAtin was an open type bar and most of the nights I was there it wasnt that busy. There are several places selling fresh fried fish in the street and a good Italian ice-cream place. Also you can make day trips to places like Saona Island. It is conveniently close to Santo Domingo airport, which may have cheaper flights than Puerto Plata airport.

Other than that you would be better off in Sosua from the point of view of accommodations and feminine company.

You should spend some time reading reports in the Boca Chica thread. If you like the ever-presence of touts (pimps) mixed in with your pros, then you'll love the place.

The touts on Duarte are a major pain in the ass, but if you venture onto the street, there is no way to be rid of them. Good luck trying.
