A taxi driver in Amman tried to convince me that Saudi was heaven on earth but I suspect that he was thinking of the money to be potentially earned there. There difference between visiting a place and living there is huge. I've just finished 2 years in Jordan. Looking at the specific issue of internet access, all I can say is that it varies. In my apartment I had wifi supplied by Orange and there were no access restrictions: dating sites, porn, gambling or whatever. Hotels may well have surfing restrictions but it should still be possible for visitors to access DIA etc in places like Starbucks – I did. UAE and Kuwait certainly do have widespread surfing restrictions, but the situation in Jordan is not as bleak as has been reported here.

Mongering in Jordan is limited, Amman and Aqaba do however have some opportunities. The numerous 'Russian Bars' defy belief. They are ridiculously expensive to frequent and at best might result in a telephone number for a later private meeting. But to my mind they are designed to separate locals from their money over the bar and really are not worth a visit, so avoid at all costs. A friend of mine wore down a stunning Jordanian woman – divorced, late 30s – working in a clothing store in Baraqa Mall (Swafieh) and sees her every Thursday night when she tells her family that she's out with girlfriends. My fun was based on the many Filipina expats in Amman and occasional visits to Aqaba. Being resident I had the time to use Facebook and DIA as well as chance meetings in the malls etc.

There are opportunities for the visitor, but there are no guarantees, especially without research online. Thursday night is party night, with very little going on at other times. Disco City is a seedy nightclub frequented by Filipinas of varying looks and intent. It's off 3rd Circle in Amman on the street going downhill towards the old town and Jebel Amman, on the left hand side. 10JD entry for men, but this does give you one free drink at the bar. It's frequented by P4P and Filipinas looking to relax as there's so little for them to do in their time off. Sometimes there are Russian pros in there but don't expect any beauties. Worth a visit but sometimes it's closed because there's been trouble. When Filipinas kick off, the weapon of choice is a bottle. I have seen this happen in there! The other club Filipinas frequent is the bar in the Holiday Inn (called the French Bar I think). I never liked going there as the music is loud and predominantly Arabic and the staff are dreadful. Expect watered down spirits and things added to your bill that you didn't order. The Crowne Plaza used to have a Thursday disco in the sports bar that was very popular with Filipinas, but sadly that was discontinued about a year ago.

I have seen obvious Filipina P4P in the sports bar (Champions?) in the Marriott Hotel on Thursday nights but I doubt they are always to be found there and don't expect any beauties. I think the major problem for mongers is girl-friendly hotels. I never had to find out in Amman but I would expect the Marriott to be fine and the other 5 Star hotels also as long as you are discrete. But anything obviously arab and traditional in ambiance I doubt would tolerate female guests in rooms. Aqaba is more relaxed but then you are paying for this in the 4/5 star hotels. I took women into both the Intercon and the Movenpick without any issues. I also took a Filipina gf to stay in the Red Sea Dive Centre which is out towards Tala Bay but very reasonably priced. The problem with Aqaba is where to walk in and find the girls. There is a Filipino restaurant down a side street roughly between the Double Tree Hotel and the Aqaba Post Office. Expat Filipinas can earn ladies drinks here and will come back to your hotel, but don't assume all will just because they are there. In both Amman and Aqaba expect to pay at least 50JD for a Filipina to stay the night but don't expect expert 'service' as most are looking to supplement their meagre income. Also be aware that many are 'runaways' without papers and will be wary of police and any requirement to show I'd to get into your hotel.

Initially I found Jordan a real challenge, but by using Facebook, DIA, persistence and advertising for cleaners as ways of introduction, I had a great 2 years there. My fun was predominantly Filipina, but I did have a thai masseuse friend. I also met a girl from Mindanao who'the been married at 13 and had her first kid a year later. 28 when I met her, I think she'the had an operation to 'restore' her virginity for any potential arab bf. I tried to squeeze into her pussy but she was just too tight and so she said 'just fuck me in my ass'! Anything to oblige a lady! Many Filipinas have an arab bf or have tried the experience and don't like it. Westerners are a much better prospect and it was frequently a problem to try to keep the relationships casual and just for fun. The record Facebook Fuck was 90 minutes – we met for coffee and 90 minutes later were in bed in my apartment and money never changed hands. Another masseuse, she became a regular afternoon visitor. There were a few timewasters, but I have found the same using DIA etc to meet girls in the Philippines. You just have to suss out the situation and work out what you want and have time for.
