    Is this really an issue?

As an occasional visitor to Uganda, I found interesting the following story of Kampala authorities checking lodges for sex worker activity:

    %E2%80%99s-lodgings.

Is this something you resident mongers are aware of?

Is there a reason why you haven't told them to either fix it or change your room?

I stayed at the Speke for the first 3 nights I was in KLA (many years ago of course). Pretty basic accommodations for $140 in my view and I shifted to the JBK for the duration of my trip. For $100 less a night, the JBK is more than acceptable. I did, and still do hang out at the Speke occasionally when I'm staying in town, but I'd never stay there again. Not even on an expense acct.

    Thanks Jiggdus

Think I got lucky with the JBK, the room I got is really quiet, although even though it has air con and a fan it does not seem to do much and the room could do with a bit of work, it's a pretty good hotel. Would love to stay at the speke hotel, have eaten there a few times. The food is excellent and the staff are really good, just not sure if I want to pay the premium.

I got a balcony room also and it was not just the hotel music, there seemed to be some construction going on as well.

Having a really good time here, meet a few woman from afro, and so far bar one they all looked like there photos. One I even offered some cab fare but she turned me down. Will write a proper trip report and hopefully throw in a few photos when I get back.

I have never been to Bubbles I am only going by what other BM have said about the place.

Although I like to be proven wrong about such places, I read that's its most hardcore working girls which is not my thing.

Staying at the Hotel inter tropics at the moment, but I 'am changing tomorrow to the JBK. I found the staff friendly and the rooms look newly built, but there is no AC and no fans, no safety deposit box and it's very noisey.

Hope to catch up with you for a drink sometime.
You may be a bit disappointed with JBK as it is much noiser in that section than where Hotel Inter Tropics is located. It is true that on the weekends, the bar downstairs plays music into the night, but during the weekday, it is very quiet. I happened to have a room that had a balcony, so I was able to open my side window and get a nice breeze. I exercised the entire time while in Kampala and the only times I found the room to be hot was when I had just returned from my runs and within an hour of workout completion. Otherwise, lack of A / C or fan did not pose a problem, though I realize some people go into overheat mode without those amenities. I think Holiday Express was a bit more quiet than JBK, but if you want real quiet and close location to Rock Garden, Speke Hotel is the place you should seek out. Otherwise, it is $200 plus per night at Sheraton or Serena. If you want to be right near the action in Kabalagala, there are a few places there that would fit the bill.

Pic is worth a thousand words; for the unitiated (moi) looks like a fine place to take a date, but not to be treated like king of kampala. Thanks for posting Coal B

Hi, I will be in kampala next week for the next 2 weeks working on a donor project. There will be alot of routine travel into the field. Where would be the best place to get a massage in Kampala with all the extras.

    Bubbles

These pics represent a typical weekend night at Bubbles. Note the [CodeWord140] poor M:F ratio (even worse inside) and who you'll be competing against for the very little female attention available.

For those who really know Kampala, this place isn't even in the discussion.

Each to their own. We have obviously had very different experiences there. I enjoy the mixed crowd and went home with my two top looking women. Thats why I will go again.

    Were 2 go

I don't mind having a drink in these places, but I don't think it will be place to pick up any one. Have got about 30-40 numbers off afro.

Also got a list off other place to pick up such as, capital pub.

Club Amensia, club silk, Ange Noir, mystic, Panerma, mami club.

Read it can be a bit more difficult to pick up non pros you meet in Kampala than it can be other places in Africa such as Mombasa.
