Bano palace does quote 55 thousand, but I could get the room for 50 thousand. It is located in Akwa on the rue Drouot.

I have found a great club in akwa, it is called 'LES MIMOSAS". Apparently it is popular with sailors and hookers, but I have only seen the prostitutes.

The nicer girls are to be found in the clubs of

Bonanjo and Bonapriso. Akwa does look more like a place to find the hardcore hookers.

In order to avoid any problems with girls, I decided to change hotel every day.

I am now in the BANO PALACE; very comfortable rooms, safe, minibar and a small rooftop swimming pool.

Altough I have never slept in any of those hotels, I would suggest the Somatel in Bali area as it does look nice with a popular pool with local people.

I stayed in the Bano Palace www.hotelbanopalace.com And it was perfect. I was quoted 45. 000 cfa but I could get the room for 40. 000.

A cheaper alternative would be the Akena City, recent hotel in Akwa district too. (without pool)

My favourite weekend pastime was to take a drive north out of Douala, past Limbe, to a beach resort called Seme New Beach. Approx 1h30min drive. This was a hotel / restaurant located on a decent black sand beach. You could either bring a girl or two along with you, or put your towel or beach mat down and wait for the business to come to you, then either rent a room or just take them back to Douala with you.

It does help if you can speak some basic French, but the language barrier was never a deal breaker. The area of the country around Limbe is Anglophone.

Seme New Beach resort has seen better days. When I was there, the food was not great and quite expensive. One of my two ladies got sick afterwards, which put a dampner on things! I did restrain from suggesting anal on that occasion!

I would normally stay at the Akwa Palace hotel (always GF, with no extra charge for bringing a girl back, although they did ask for a copy of the ID). I cannot claim great expertise on this subject but I got the impression that if you appear to be solvent and clearly a foreigner, you will do well with the ladies in Cameroon. Part of the issue for the ladies I met is that many local men treat their women really badly. And local men are less likely to have money or if they have are less likely to spend it on women.

They will work out that you are a foreigner straight away, before you even open your mouth, by your body language, the way you walk, your clothes etc etc.
