    Good restaurant

Last Monday I decided to try the new restaurant which has opened recently in Soi 4. It was called Istanbul before and has re-opened as Dubai. Firstly I was surprised how busy the place was especially as it was a Monday, probably almost 70% full. There were a lot of Korean people there so the owner may have struck some kind of all in voucher deal with tour operators. To my relief they do serve alcohol. The waiter was very helpful, I ordered a prawn masala with rice and a double glass of red wine. The food was served in about ten minutes, which impressed me.

The staff were helpful without being over-bearing. I don't like being asked every five minutes if everything is OK. Overall a very nice experience and somewhere I would not only return to but also recommend to others. The quality of the food and wine was very good. Total cost 600 baht including the wine.

    Regards,

    BJ

I have one night in Bangkok

Yes I know newbie with his 1st post.

But I've been reading this site on & off for the last year preparing for my one night.

I'm a 48 year old Aussie who's been going to Thailand since I was 23, married my Thai girlfriend about 17 years ago & we both live in Australia.

Whenever we go back to Thailand my leash is normally not long enough to partake of anything mentioned in this forum as she knows better.

This time I've let my wife go a week earlier & I've swindled one night in Bangkok alone before I travel upcountry to join my wife & leash.

I've sort of prepared. Gone on a diet (back to my normal weight) , got & tried some Indian viagra, got & tried alone some sagami condoms (nearly feels like bareback enough not to use latex again)

I'm to arrive at swampy airport at 8pm in a weeks time.

I think I'll try a taxi with pay for tolls & take quickest route.

Since it's 1 night & I've never really experienced a true PSE I think I must go for this as I would hate to try a bar / etc. With a starfish experience.

I was originally going to try Eden but there's too many negative / bad reports for me to risk it.

The last couple of weeks of reports have led me to try Tulip, SnowWhite or Mango.

I'm thinking of either Tulip or SnowWhite & pick a girl with a positive report from the last few weeks.

Since I arrive at swampy at 8pm & their last client is at 11pm should I book for their premises or a out-call to my hotel?

If I book a out-call how do I arrange that as I don't know my room number as I'm not there yet?

What time? I think 10. 30pm should allow me to get there & have a quick shave & shower. Any thoughts?

I still haven't picked my hotel yet, still don't know which one?

    I'm willing to spend 3000-5000B.

I was thinking of Livingston's Lodge as it's closer to Tulip, SnowWhite.

But I'm thinking of a nicer place closer to some action after 1am (after my Tulip / SnowWhite action). Any thoughts?

It seems at 1am the go-go's are winding up (nearly closed with only the nightly rejects left)

& Nana parking lot is full of ugly-drunk girls & a pack of katoeys.

Any other places to try, probably not interested in a upmarket nightclub / disco though.

If anyone can help me positively with the above it would be greatly appreciated.

As I'm running out of time (have to book a girl & hotel room in the next day or two)

If I get some help & have a great experience I'll try to write up a report when I get back.

    (snip)

Walking by Zen bar across from the Nana hotel parking lot I meet a employee who I seem to have good chemistry with and has a fabulous rear. Sit on the bar stool outside groping her ass and chatting from midnight to 2am while simultaneously eyeballing the freelancers across the street and did not see any big natural titties during those 2 hours.
As mentioned in my post the DD girls I saw across the street from NEP were found in the mid afternoon, at 7 & 10 pm & at night. So you obviously missed the boat arriving at 12 in the morning. That's when the LBs are often out in force & IMO the late night "shift" of street gals leaves a lot to be desired, as I've posted before. Not in looks, makeup or gear, perhaps, but everything else. Attitude, service, sobriety. What's that saying, the early bird gets the worm?

Tonight (Wednesday the 19th, BKK time) I had the pleasure of enjoying a very pretty Nana Hotel car park 1000 Baht ST regular who facially resembles model Celia Kwok or many of those on sex 141 more than your typical Thai P4P girl. Services given included BBBJ, DATO, FS with FK, in that order. I grabbed her quickly as I saw Harold 666 coming around the corner towards her with his eyeballs bugging out & copious amounts of saliva dripping down his chin.

[CodeWord901]'s opens at around 8 or 9 for the businessmen who want to stop by quickly on their way to work.

i agree that waiting til 10am makes more sense. by then mango, cherry, annie's, etc. will be open. it's easy to pass a few hours eating breakfast or looking around the neighborhood.

you can't blame them. 6pm is about dinner time. they check the speedboat schedule, gather around the pier, have dinner and then go to sleep. good that mosquito have not learnt yet the bar life!

I can't remember seeing any at all (and normally I'm the staple diet of mozzies!). There tend not to be lots of mosquitos in the big cities and those there are aren't likely to carry disease. If you go to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai in the north or the island of Koh Chang, wear lots of insect repellent with Deet. Likewise anywhere with jungle. If there is a Dengue outbreak, now might not be the time for a trek to see the hill-tribes for example. But Bangkok should be okay. All of the gogo bars are air-conditioned anyway so you definitely won't see any inside.

i will never forget some years ago when i arrived in koh samed in a speedboat around 6 pm. severe attack of hundreds of mosquitos big as (small) birds. had to run to the hotel reception in panic. horrible! but that was no tiger mosquitos, they are much smaller and you will hardly notice them.

Dengue still should be rare and I think dengue mosquitoes are active only during day time and at that time there might not be so many of those flying things around.
I came back home two weeks ago after spending 2 weeks in BKK. All the time I wore long pants and socks, not only because of mosquitos, more for looking city dressed. No mosquito bites at all and I didn't use any repellant spray either. So, dress correctly and save yourself from Dengue!

I get that too when they bite me here in BKK, whether it's on the face, arm, leg, etc. Quite itchy for days & stays red for up to weeks.

Though haven't see any mosquitos here since arriving in early May, but I don't get out much, especially at night.

I saw mosquitos everywhere, in small numbers, usually just one, from early Dec to late March.

It is also up to the individual sometime, if their blood is juicy for the mosquito.

However, it is a risk outside of BKK. One of my GF's staff members came down with it right after Songkran. He contracted it upcountry when visiting family, and was hospitalized in BKK.

So, if you'll be staying in BKK, don't worry. If you're going to remote parts, long sleeves, long pants and Off are recommended.
Yes, if you are in BKK worry. Dengue is an urban disease as well. It occurs in clusters. Over my 13 years here I have had many friends contract it in BKK.

Perhaps it is different when you go into the jungle (and I do not mean the jungle of Nana or Soi Cowboy).

Laos and Cambodia are quite different: there I always wear long trousers and long sleeved shirts in the evening or I get eaten alive.

Perhaps Thailand and BKK in particular is so polluted that no mosquito can survive. .
I agree! And no mosquito will survive the sound level of the go-go bars.

I tend not to see many flies either. Especially when one sees how much food is in the open air.

Mosquito volume is not much different than any "western" area.

I read everywere that there is an outbreak right now in Bangkok and its not a nice thing to catch.

    Your experience about it?

Are there lots of mosquitos in the bars at Nana and Cowboy?

Mosquitos in the short time hotels or so?

I am going to Bangkok in 1 week now and are a bit afraid of that shit.
