Get a fare printout based on area at a taxi stand, give it to a driver, later pass him your own printout with exact location.

I do not know about taking a taxi at the airport because I always arrange to have a driver waiting for me at the airport via the people I book with. It costs me 72,000 pesos, or $42 dollars. I'm sure getting a regular taxi at the airport can be cheaper, but my driver is in a regular vehicle versus a yellow taxi which just screams "this person is just coming from the airport and very likely has a laptop, smart phone, and a ton of cash on him". Plus he knows where he is going (to drop me off). Taxi drivers at the airport may know how to get you to Poblado, but if they do not know where your hotel or apartment is (handing them a piece of paper with an address on it may only give them a general idea of the area you are trying to get to. You will find this out if you do any Casa runs), and if you cannot explain it to them in Spanish, vas a tener muchas problemas amigo.
Some people even take the bus!

Dress Code: Never wear shorts. Imagine being in middle school and wearing shorts is not cool. Welcome to Medellin and Latin America in general. Jeans and Cargo Pants are fine. T-Shirts and collared shirts are fine. Regular sneakers are fine also.
Airport: Grabbing a cab off the curb at the airport is fine. Rate is 57k-60k. Either exchange a small amount at the airport or offer the cab $35 (65k). Since you are staying in an apartment, allow about 15 minutes extra to call a cab for your return trip to the airport. Cabs normal arrive to apartments in 5-10 minutes.
If you plan on coming back to Colombia, take $200+ in Pesos home with you so you don't have to rush to a cambio or the bank when you come back.
I hope this helps.

From Barranquilla to Cali, Medellin, etc, such a nice variety.
In all my travels, I'd rate las Colombianas and the Venezolanas as numero uno in the overall beauty department.
As far as Tijuana, and Mexico in general, well lets just say we must have different tastes in women LOL

Posts: 43About STD testing in Bogota
Hi,
Thanks to everybody that has answered my question about STD just to clarify it was nothing serious I see it as a rite of passage in Colombia. If you are staying around Santa Fe in Bogota the best place is:
Clinica de Marly.
Calle 53 and 13.
They were effective and profesional.

Of course there are hot Peruanas, but they have few competitors are get the upp hand over the men, or sex tourist. In Colombia, you find babes everywhere. God gave Colombianas beauty, sexuality, openeness, and also self interest to make a living out of this, as prepagos, or get married to a wealthy man or extranjero. That is so all over the world, but in Colombia it is. Well, it's Heaven, if you can spot the Barracudas, which will learn easy.
Lately, the have starting to enhace their asses into propotions that looks absurd in jeans!
The prepago culture is old in Colombia, Colombians cheat on each other period! They are hot blooded people!
I found, after living 6 months in both Perú and Colombia the diference being striking. Perú is still a good destination, but Colombia is No. 1 in the world and the females in Panama, Costa Rica, Perú, Ecuador can't simply compete, they have no chance!

This is not for me obviously but can a 19 year old gringo guy go into strip clubs in Medellin and Bogota? Or is it like in the US that they have to be 21 in many of those places. Also is the drinking age 21 in Colombia?
