Def helps if you guys have someone in your group who speaks Chinese because I know none of the mamasans we book through speak English at all. Even though my crew trusts and doesn't have any problems with these places, make sure you guys are clear up front with them about all the prices. So no drunk surprises at the end. Anyway we should all know to take nothing for granted in Shanghai / China.

My estimate based on " http://www.shanghai-nightlife-guide.com/ktv-karaoke/ " is a range from 700 to 2000 shared cost so 3 guys would pay between 234 to 667 rmb plus sitting cost for a girl (200 to 500) and whatever take home price can be negotiated (1500 and up). Mid range here is 1350 shared 3 ways or 450 plus 300 sitting fee plus take home charge. Currently 5 guys have expressed interest.

Try this place.

"Shanghai Huang Gong" KTV on Song Shan Lu and Huai Hai Lu. Lots of nakedness, feeling up the girls is ok, and they will want to do same to you, girls dancing and quite fun group games with the girls. Girl quality is good, and due to the fact they all show their breasts they use girls more endowed. 2 classes of girls. One will will not leave the club, the others will. They wear 2 different color dresses to distinguish who is who.

So I went there to check it out. It is gone. I did go inside another KTV briefly. It had a foyer the size of half a football field and just as high. There was a stairway for a queen. That's high end.

First, how to find the sauna:

The sauna place is actually located on the second row of buildings of the street so it is not directly accessible. In fact, from the street the address is 361 zhaojiabang lu. Here you will see a small alley that you have to follow. On the right of the alley, you will see a panel indicated 389&21495; . Then follow the alley, turn right and go to what looks like a parking entry (in fact it is). You are in the sauna parking. Go straight, you will see the sauna house, sort of villa with closed windows.

Once inside, that's the regular sauna business.

The place & the girl selection.

I arrived there at around 13:00.

Once you get in, you are given a bracelet with your number. You are directed to the change area. The place looks old, nothing really nice here. Shoes will go in the locker.

Then you go to the pool area where you shower, then put the pyjama on and you are sent to 3rd floor (using a very very slow lift). Once there you are sent to small waiting room where you can have a drink. As usual.

I waited 10 min when they called our room (we were 3). You take the stairs and go down to the 2nd floor and waint in front of a tiny fishbowl and you can see the girls coming in next to you to their small room where the get prepared for the fishbowl.

At first, no stunner. Only 5 girls, but just wait and more come. So I was the last one (I let a nice one go because was not fast enough. Num 965). Then 991, arrived so I choose her. They proposed me 944 who was waiting in the bowl. Really not my type! Far to much makeup and too much fat.

Just a remark, all girls looked really not happy to be there, which is also the reason why I was not very fast to pickup 965. And I took 991, because she just pop up and was much better than the 2 others.

When she saw me, I immediately knew the session would be not so fun. 991 looks disappointed (LCI.)!

Rooms.

Rooms are located on 2nd and 3rd floor. They don't seem to have any wet / shower area (mine did not have). In fact, it looks like Sacrosa but with a better decoration (I had a round bed. But the thing is the bed is not a plastic one (like Bodi or Siyuan). It is a red warm bed sheet covered by a bath towel and only the bath towel is replaced between customers.

My room had mirrors on the ceiling and on all walls except the door one.

The session.

When you arrive in the room, your girl who wears a bikini, will ask you if you want her to change (nurse, maid, secretary,). I asked for secretary / office girl. She left and came back after 10 min with her stuff and office girl outfit. I got naked while waiting for her, so I was ready when she was back. So she turned on some music and asked me to come close to her and did some dance. But nothing so great. She asked me to go on the bed and started to do a crappy back massage. All very slow. Then using some wet baby wet wipes, she cleaned my arm and started some catbath. After 5 min of useless massage, I turned on my back and ask her to suck me. I'll be in Shanghai and would be interested in joining the KTV trip. I arrive on the evening of the 15th. I've been to sauna's and BBS previously, but haven't had the opportunity to visit a KTV yet. I speak some Chinese (18 months of lessons while living in China from 2005 to 2008) , but not fluent. I'll be staying in Pudong, but know Shanghai fairly well and can get around to most areas easily.

Next week sometime, July 14-20th, should be a KTV night with 3-4 guys from this forum. There is no way to pm you so we need to organize this here online.

Any recommendations from anyone for KTV in Puxi in medium price range will be appreciated.

However, as a infrequent visitor to Shanghai, I was walking around the Bund area and got offered 100rmb for 1-hour massage (including all services, including sex as well. Which I clarified couple of times directly). Anyways, I had a little time and frankly was curious, this guy had been nagging me for 10-mins, just randomly following me on the street showing me pics of girls on his phone. So decided to check out his place.

Small joint with "Tea / Coffee" wording splashed on the entrance door, just 1 room plus couple of rooms on 1st floor, on a busy road, near the Bund. Walked in. 3-4 girls, taken up to a room with seemingly namesake karaoke machine, asked to pick from 3 girls, frankly girls were nice looking. I confirmed with the girl-in-charge 100rmb for all service. I was anyways not looking to partake, just inquiring, so declined and decided to leave. Some pressure to not leave, including hand holding, and laughable slashing of price to 50rmb and then 20rmb to just sit with the girl for 5-10 mins, offer to give me water / soda to just chat. Followed me out of joint asking why I didn't like her girls, said the reason price was so low because it is dinner time and no customers usually during dinner-time (was around 7pm). I bid adieu.

So am curious. And will probably help the next person as well. What is this scam? Anyone know? Do they just pretend 100rmb to 1000rmb? Possibly I am a tourist with only 200rmb in my pocket with no ATM / credit card?

I was in Shanghai in March 2012 and wrote a couple of posts on this topic that prompted a long series of comments and horror stories from other posters. Since 15 months back is a lot of RTFF to do, maybe someone should create a "Report of Distinction" link on this important topic.

I don't care what they promised you, never go with anyone my yourself from the street. You are taking your money and more importantly your life in their hands. Count your blessing.

This looks to be a variation of the tea room trick. In my first visit to SH many years ago two young man and three young women chatted me up and invited me to tea. To cut a long story short in the tea room I quickly realized it was a scam and asked for the bill which they tried to delay; anyway I paid a fraction of the exorbitant amount they asked for after a lengthy negotiation. I can't recall the amount. They never threatened violence. If the guy he went with were the usual thugs who try to lure unsuspecting gents into establishments, he would not have got off so easily, they would have tried their damnest including beatings and extortion to get money from him.

Last month I went there after 12.30 midnight and the guy at the reception wanted 880 upfront! Even before entering, forget seeing the girls or taking shower! He said as it is after 12.30am so pay in advance. Is this routine or another bullshit from this fuck all place?

Yes, this is the normal practice since the reception staff will be off duty when you finish your session with the girl. So they ask you to pay in advance. It is the same also at Bodi and Hailang.

I don't think you can count on them waiting in the lobby. Massage girls have no trouble getting to my room.

Depends on the hotel, of course, but something is a massage girl making her way alone. Something is if she one is with you. Either they wait or if they show the intention to follow you, go to reception and ask them to have your "friend" waiting for you there. Maybe reception might gets the hint.

Your rule #1 is of course the best.
