Posts: 385Dream Club A Go Go (Old Carousel)
I was in Dream Club A Go Go Monday night. It's risen from the ashes of the old Carousel bar on Soi Diamond just off Walking Street. It is brand-spanking new (open less than a week) and has a nice set up. Clearly a fair chunk of change was spent on renovation. The girls were friendly and eager to sit with customers, but didn't hassle for drinks, even though there were only a few other customers in the bar at the time. Girls who recognized me from other bars came over to say hello, but none asked for a drink.
The 20-year-old coyote I invited to sit with me was gorgeous and had a very bubbly personality. I could write,"Me sat with me" and make perfect sense, as her name was Me. The girls were a mix of agency coyotes and bikini-clad dancers. There were two tall "Bangkok-model-style" dancers who did some impressive pole dancing and were topless for most of their show. Those were the only bare tits I saw during the hour or so I was there.
The seating is arranged so you have a clear view of the stage from wherever you're sitting. The lighting was bright, which is what I prefer, but that's a matter of personal preference. The music wasn't too loud. Each set of about 10 girls danced for roughly 20 minutes, rotating their positions on stage so you got a good look at all of them. The advantage of a lengthy dance "shift" is that it gives you a long stretch sitting with a girl who isn't dancing, the disadvantage being that you have to wait an equally long time for her to come back when she takes the stage for her shift. Considering the multi-girl shifts seem to alternate with the two-girl shows, there's plenty of "down time" for each girl.
A San Miguel Lite cost 135 baht and lady drinks 150. I've been told the bar offers an all-night Happy Hour deal on some mixed drinks and bottled Leo beer. No draft beer is available. I had already made arrangements for the night, so I didn't ask about bar fines and I never talk prices with the girls unless I'm ready to clinch the deal. I read on another board the bar fine for the coyotes is 1, 500 baht before midnight and 1, 000 after. I have idea about the BF for the bikini dancers.
Dream is a nice go go bar and I'll be back, which is the real test. But unless it's able to attract more customers, I can't see it remaining in business for long. It's set up to appeal to the same guys who frequent bars like Sensations and Whats Up, but I'm doubtful if there are enough such customers in Pattaya to fill multiple bars shooting for the high end of the market.
I exchanged a few words with the farang owner and he seemed a friendly guy.

Easy. Girl takes gentle tap and the nail goes in half an inch. OK. I take a massive swing, and luckily hit the nail dead on. Sparks fly and the nail barely moves. WTF? Perhaps it's on a knot? We repeat: another half inch for the girl and my solid blow barely moves my nail. A third go, and the same thing happens, except that my hit is off-centre, and the nail falls over. Now I get it, so my next hit is a gentle tap, and the nail drops half an inch or more. But of course it's too late, and I've lost this round.
Someone else can tell me the science, but it's a bit like bouncing putty to whatever it used to be called.
Her bar is right next to Happy A-GoGo, which is the next soi on the left after AngelWitch, off Walking Street.

So you might have some places to recommend? That bar outside Happy Agogo sounds fun, in a lonely kind of way.

Yes, it's surprising that one can bump into old friends, given how big Pattaya is. But then of course, a lot of the action is compressed into a few streets, and we tend to have regular haunts. So this trip I have spend my time (in descending order) : (a) in bed, (b) in Soi 6, (c) in the beer garden, (d) in a nice little legit massage place near Soi 6, (e) in the pool / the gym / jogging along Beach Road, and (f) on my scooter between those places.

Sadly, I arrive a few hours after you leave, it seems. I was actually thinking of maybe dropping by Pattaya for one night or so. Other than my massive work commitments in BKK, the problem is that there is potential for violence if I run into the wrong girl. She was a Bacarra dancer when I saw her last, and we were hot and heavy for a while before I decided I needed my own space. If she sees me snooping around her girlfriends' nether regions, she may just lose it. That's a risk I might tolerate for a night or so, but that's it. I don't even know if she is still working at Bacarra (no way of finding out) , but still.

It looks like you are heading for BKK, and not Pattaya? If you make it here I can recommend a few places you might enjoy.
Happy hunting.

Anyway, my 10 days in Pattaya are coming to an end soon, and despite the rain, the low season feel, and the roadworks on Beach Road, it has been one of the best yet. Enough of the doom-mongers!
