There will be plenty of "new" girls in Jakarta by the 19th and things will be back to normal. As for the spending money to impress, it's not what I'm into. I've managed without the grand hotels - as long as the accommodation is decent. I prefer chic boutique hotels to big 6 star joints. I'm not into spending to impress, but balancing out having fun without being a cheapskate. I'd just go with the flow. I've been out and opened a couple of bottles, and I've been to simple cafes for a date (or even just direct to my hotel room). All yielded the same results. The most important thing is that the girls feel some sense of adventure / fun and have a grin on their face at the end of the night.

My report on massage parlours in Manga Besar area. Few months old but still worth reading. Tried to find Travel hotel and eventually did after about 30 ins of walking around. Tried to get taxis to go ther but many said they didn't know where it was. Now, I've been looking at booking hotels and I have a question to those of those of you who have been in the game in Jakarta longer than me. Is it worth to get a really expensive luxurious hotel to impress the girls I will be meeting?

I did two Jakarta trips this year and had in-room dates with a total of 15 women, all from IndoCupid. I have Rewards Points accounts with Marriott and Hyatt that I used to stay at JW Marriott in Kempang, and Grand Hyatt (near Kempinski). I think those luxury hotels had a positive impact on the women (aged 20 to 44). They generally dressed very well for our dates and seemed to like the ambience of beautiful rooms and luxurious bathrooms (for showering together). Well Ramadhan is nearly over and once again (tenth time and counting for me) we got through it. What were your strategies?

I overfilled my phone book with contacts before the month but surprisingly I didn't really need most of them. The Blok was open as usual and there was no shortage of girls available and the empty and darkened VIP room in D's came in handy even with those ladies who normally never venture in there.

The big meat factories of North Jakarta were open for business with plenty of stock available. Only without the titty dancers, just as well I always over pay with those lassies. If anything I have more prospective meet-ups ahead over the next few months than before.

no guarantees on the length of time you might have to spend in a taxi mate. jakarta is jakarta. i've spent three and a half hours in a vehicle from pasaraya blok m to semanggi because of heavy rain and hence some flooding. it all depends on the time of day and the weather. that doesn't take into account the potential protest / demo about something or another. i would however normally budget an hour let's say from plaza indonesia to kemang. but not during rush hour (or is that hours?). and be grateful if it takes less time. i am definitely a fan of being in an aircon taxi (even if i always have to ask them to increase the fan speed) rather than the bus, but that might affect the budget somewhat.

you can take ojek, and it will cut your travel time more than 50 pct. i have taken taxi for long time (always during the first 2 years in jakarta) , but realized ojek even with different comfort are as good and very efficient, but safety risk and pollution impact are more severe. find your own ojek driver in front of your hotel and pay him a little extra and make him your regular driver. then he will get you safe and fast to all places. i pay the same as for taxi, even i know locals pay lesser.
