I figure the construction on Beach Road is less than 1 month from completion. It's funny though because what I noticed about the new lane at the north end around Soi 6 is that it was being used more for parking than anything elae. Not to worry, there are tons of freelancers around. Most are across the street from the construction. Those whose area has traditionally been where the completed parts are, have already settled into their new homes.

Guess you haven't heard the latest? As you know a little over a year ago they spent a ton of money along with all the nature lovers complaining about them cutting or trimming the trees along Beach Road. By doing this the path would now be too hot and the FL, wouldn't have anywhere to sit in the shade? While they were doing this there was supposed to be a study to look into the 3rd lane which they are working hard now to complete which all this stuff is costing millions of baht? Then let's not forget 2 years ago they spent another 123 million baht to put up all the pedestrian crossing lights throughout the tourist area that no one dare to use. They also did a study for this too!

Now I hear while they are near finished they forgot to put back in the trees / light so they got to go back and start all over again? LOL.

Oh and the study for the Skytrain is now completed and although everyone is against they plan to go ahead anyway since so many officials have already counted on lining their pockets from this project they got to go ahead with it. Lets not forget high season is coming and those tents to sell clothes and concerts yearly planned are coming too.

every time i head to pattaya, i learn something new. this time is no different. as stated last posting, the cell from my sim card had credit on it. however, it was not working. strange. apparently, tho the sim had just over 200 baht credit on it, the sim card itself had expired. so paid another 200 baht which gave me another month on the card. whole thing strange. need check into how to prevent the sim from expiring, if it's even possible?

just got the iphone 4 off ebay from hk. it's sim-free model, and wanted to try it here to determine cost. got the sim at tukcom at something like 250 baht. however there is only one place in all of tukcom to go to connect the iphone 4 to the internet. there was a huge line there, so passed. made my way to big c and top floor asked about getting the iphone on the net. apparently you can do it for, as i recall i paid 300 or 400 baht for 350gb of data which expires in a month. they also have unlimited internet for 999 baht. sure enough, paid, and total cost to make my sim-free iphone alive for a month is about 700 baht, and not more than 400 baht thereafter. far cheaper and more efficient than at&t, and no contract! for a while however the internet completely went. played and discovered "reset network" option, restarted the iphone and it now works fine. internet at a good speed too.

wanted to get my testosterone levels checked. to do it cheaply, and after speaking to a few of my trusted sources, decided not to do it at a clinic or hospital but went straight to the lab. while there i can get anything else i want tested for a fraction of anywhere. cost to test test levels is 500 baht. may do more tests just to examine what's under the hood.

beach road has construction which gets heavy from mikes to all the way down south. it makes walking not as much fun, and they're fewer gals. they're still around, but just need to hunt a bit. never liked the other side of the street since that's where all the tourists and tailor pimps are. funniest thing i saw was at that intersection - how to describe, where 2nd road meets beach road all the way south (a block from walking street, on the way to jontiem). there were cops stopping motorcycle drivers not wearing helmets and fining them. while they were stopping many people, including an inordinate amount of farangs, there was a thai dad in his 40s riding a motor bike, naturally with no helmet and two kids in the front of the bike about eight years old who also wore no helmets, and all three of them waved at the cops who were all giving tickets and the cops smiled at them and waved back. go figure.

if you decide to watch a movie at the theater where california fitness used to be located, you will have to sit through 25 minutes of commercials, including candy bars, sodas, cars, banks, and other crap.

had thus far four gals. here are picts of the first, sa, the third, nut or nan or somesuch, and kau. sa had horrible breath, a real turnoff for me. nut was absolutely outstanding. kau was 19 (checked her i. d.) and an absolute novice in the sack. kau just left my hotel about an hour ago. all were found around town and paid 1000 each for st. thinking this is the most i've paid here, back 2007 paid half that amount. inflation i guess.

Do any of you who are out there what is the situation on the road construction is it near to completion and is it effecting the number of freelancers present on beach road.

No idea when it will finish, the girls say three months more, and they're moaning about it quite a lot. Huge interference with their business, though because of this they say the police arrest / drug test / shakedown problem has lessened recently. I was there a week or two ago, and the selection was pretty poor for a low-season: it seems like a lot of girls aren't bothering to come to the beach or even across the road because there just aren't many punters walking by.

I've very rarely seen a woman I would have consider a "hot chick" on beach road in Pattaya. I have seen pictures of women I would consider hot from Beach Road, I've just never had the luck to see many of them.

Most of the women I've seen on Beach Road are older and about a 5 or 6 out of ten, or they are ladyboys.

Again, not impossible, but not probably to find a hot chick. And the hotter ones want more money because they know they can get it.

Regarding BBBJ, three trips I had a terrible string of bad luck and most of the women I brought back to my room only did CBJ. However, two trips ago, it was the exact opposite. And by the way, I paid for it with a trip to the doctor for some antibiotics afterwards. (But that still doesn't deter me from wanting BBBJ).

I've scored some absolute gems from Beach Road. My last trip had me with a 19 year old, no baby, super firm body. Only comes in on the weekends. Studies an hour away during the week. And it was a hassle free experience and charged 1000 bt. The car was clean and I enjoyed the ride which took a little more then an hour. Was tired and did not have the courage to go bar hopping and decided to call a mamasan I was in touch with. She is a MILF from Issan region, surely past her prime but still has that charm in her. Must have been an A lister 10 years back. Had to go to her bar located on Soi 6 and bar fine her for 500 bt. Back to the hotel and she gets down to business. DFK, BBBJ are good and clearly I was in experienced hands. She became very friendly and was willing to stay overnight. After 2 pops I wanted some undisturbed sleep and sent her away, promising to see her again. She had not quoted any price but I gave her 2000 bt, considering that she was very friendly and was in touch with me for over a month. Since this question has arisen several times of recent and there are no gentlemen providing any update, I presume the works on our beloved Beach Road should be complete by October, or if you like, certainly by the arrival of high season; of this I am confident. Been home for a month now and the works were nearing three quarters done end July, when I sadly left for home.

Of our freelancer darlings, enough should be about. I would doubt the works would effect the nightly turnouts, they have to earn a living. No work, no rent.

it was one of these evenings when they roast the pork near the stairs and serve sausages in heaven above. shared a drink with one of the owners, lets call him mr. tennis and was introduced to mr. sobbin, owner of a go-go just across. had never noticed it, with mr. sobbin acknowledging its small size and limited business. gave it a peep a bit past 1am, its called the gentlemen's club. it had this dark, red ambiance, with these scarface pacino sofa's, beers are sincerely priced and they serve peanuts (love it with my whiskey). they have a place upstairs for private stuff, will check next time and update.

came across this creamy girl on the pole, a bit on the old side but delicious. continued watching her and the shift ended, the girls do a quick round giving the usual hellos to the customers who have no company. a young girl came and sat with me. she has limited english and a cherubic face. i was getting bored holding on to the whiskey glass and her fine legs looked like a good alternative, so ordered her a drink and asked for a translator. she was barely 22 from buriram, dusky and very new to the scene. without getting into the usual details of what she do, what she like etc, decided to bar-fine her.

she turned out to be a sweet delight, expressive and innocent to every touch, kiss. lots of foreplay, dfk. turned her over and gave her one of my tongue massages. two positions and i was done. requested her is she could stay a bit longer, for another round and encountered same language issues which were solved by displaying some currency notes, her face lit up and she picks a 500 baht note. so opened up a few beers, she drank only coke (still not spoilt) and we were ready for round 2, heaven!

I use to and still from time to time I do when I don't have lots of stuff with me. I use to haul all my stuff upstairs wait at the end and usually two things happens. The taxi guy see a guy with 2 large bags and look at me like a big lolipop? And starts to tell me this and that? Then when I do get one and I'm loading a cop comes up and ask me what I'm doing? Meantime I thinking who needs all this B. S. I just want to get back to Pat and drop my pants.

So now I just budget a few hundred baht more pay the 1500 which I consider includes the toll and tip. 1500 flat. When I don't have lots of stuff I don't mine upstairs.

LBM I thought you were a veteran. Why don't you go upstairs to get one for 900 + the 60 for tolls?It does indeed suck when they do that. They usually go to that parking lot/office to swap off. It only takes all of 5 minutes though. Last week we got into a nice comfortable mini SUV at the airport with the air conditioner feeling good. Then went to swap off into a freaking Camry.

Happened to me once. They wanted to move me into a minivan.

I refused. The van was ok but I didn't want to be on a trip with endless pickups and dropoffs.

I pointed at the taxi I came in. The then offered me a volvo which I took as it was midnite already.

Normally get a taxi but last time got Bell bus. Flight times suited. Bit slower than a taxi but pretty ok.

I agree I have done the transfers all ways and Bell is my first choice for the price / convenience mix. They are a very professional outfit. More than one person and start to consider a private taxi.

Had this happen one time and never again. Now I stick strictly with Mr. T. Never has let me down yet. 1000 bt to / from BKK or 1200 bt to / from DMK.

True. And the other annoying thing is when you hire a taxi at the airport, and after 5 minutes he explains that actually his friend will take you the rest of the way. Not usually a problem, but last trip we had to swap cars standing in the middle of the expressway, on the painted 'island' where the road splits in two. Scary.
