Hey guys, I'm based down in Taichung where the mongering scene is currently abyssmal. The tea delivery lot only give the worst of the worst to westerners, the P4P places are increasingly staffed with older women who are willing to do less and less with every passing month. Only place to get decent-looking girls in their 20s are the massage places which only offer HJ. So I'm going to try a trip to Taipei for some fun instead. Those two worked for me before) or fly to Thailand / Philippines. Mongering scene is really bad for westerners in Taiwan. Even if you go to shacks in Taoyuan or Keelong some of the girls even don't look at you and when you propose they refuse. Pinay and Thai girls are just happy to serve you, Taiwanese not. My writing is not offensive, Taiwan has its own culture and thinking and in many aspects this is not a place for westerners (or, generally speaking, for foreigners)

All very interesting, but my enjoyment would increase ten-fold if I knew what any of the abbreviations stood for:

One thing I would say to anyone wondering why the Taiwan section of the forum is a bit dead is that 95% of the input is from ABC's or Taiwanese guys, or at least from people who speak pretty good Mandarin- which makes it a good source of information for them, but not so much for the rest of us. I'm sure there are a bunch of Lao Wai's out there looking for guidance and advice in this field, but this forum does not provide it- in fact, it pretty overtly states that none of this information is helpful to non-Chinese people because of the way a lot of these places work. Basically, the fact that it's in English, but exclusive to Chinese people means it's always going to have limited readership and limited contributions from Westerners.

Newbie. You really need to look at the top menu section. You will see a tab for Abbreviation. You need to learn to read more slowly instead of breezing through to the pics. Read and you will learn.

It's happened to me once. Granted I was at a location that was on the edge of Taipei Proper (Tucheng Station Blue Line) , it was still kinda crappy. I called the mamasan that I usually use, and asked for a girl. The provider told me to wait around 20 min. 20 min goes by, then 30 min, and then 40. I call back, and she told me the she'll check for me. At the hour mark, she calls me back, and told me the agency that she contact who was supposed to send the girl out had actually declined, saying the travel was too far. Anyway, the mamasan apologized and sent me another girl, which showed up after another 30 min wait. In hindsight, I suppose I should have asked for a discount or something along those lines.

I agree that the forum is pretty quiet compared to other places but don't blame it on the people who can speak the native language or who bother to post reports. This is a forum for sharing, if you have a problem with the content then I suggest you post yourself. Far too often I have had brothers ask for handouts or never contribute after I have given them info.

I had similar experience the last time I was in Japan. Not being able to speak Japanese limited my ability to experiment and explore in the mongering scene. In effect, I was like a Lao Wai, even though I look like one of them and could blend right in the crowd. So language is indeed an issue. Frankly, most in this business just don't have the level of education / training to be able to master enough English to engage with foreigners who don't speak Mandarin. (If they had the education / training, they would very likely not be in this business in the first place.) The barrier is mutual: you don't speak Mandarin, they don't speak English. There is no common ground. That's the brutal truth. As for me, I am taking Japanese lessons now in the hope that I could make it useful the next time I visit Japan, both as a tourist and a monger, hehe. Cheers.
