South China - Guangzhou

In reading the forum it looks like there are several great options in Guangzhou. But I am hoping to get some specific advice.

I am South Asian and do not speak any Chinese. I'll be at the Crown Plaza City Center in Tianhe (Dong'an Road). I am not sure how the public transport is in Guangzhou, but am worried about navigating it with no language skills, and also not knowing what areas are safe / unsafe. As such, my first preference is to find some place close by, perhaps even walking distance. I am looking for a massage + CBJ experience (more would be better, but this is the minimum I am hoping to find). Any advice? Or do I have to travel further?

188 is not fat and ok for me. Besides, Water Way has a RMB498 option, which is topless body massage (I. E. I asked about FS and the lady manager said there are a few girls who are open to that option, but would cost RMB498 + RMB 600 tip to masseuse for a total of RMB 1098. Depending on which way you come from, the Water Way Spa is located next to an off ramp from a highway.

I said I wanted a massage, they give me one of those keys with a number on it and proceeded to ask me to take the elevator to the 4th floor. After arriving at the lockers, the boys took my clothing and shipped me to next floor. I completely bypassed the "spa" facilities and headed right up to the 8th floor. I asked for number 188 as BoyNick recommended but she had the day off. The attendant recommended me girl 290 from Xian. Saying the usual blah blah blah about her service and how popular she was. Not wanting to wasted time being my first time visiting, I said ok. The attendant told me to wait a few minutes while they setup the room. Only bring some much cash, I asked how much. The price has been raised from 498 to 580 be / see of the Canton Fair. Service charge % did not change.

So after a few minutes of waiting, I was taken up to the room, another elevator ride up to the 11th floor where my girl greeted me. She proceeded to take me to the room. The room is small and dark with a Japanese style bed. My girl asked me to undress and proceeded with the veggie part of the massage. The girl was very chatty and friendly. After 15 minutes or so, she said, she needed to leave the room to get some "supplies" for the next part of the massage. After a few minutes she came back with two cups of water, for what I assume is the cat bath, fire & ice BJ, etc. Her friend walked in and asked if I wanted a 3p. I said no but later asked my girl what 3p included. She said just two people do all the same stuff as below but only 1 CIM not 2. The price is 780 + service charge of 10.

No negotiations, really. There's a set price list. The cheapest option is a regular massage. The second most expensive involves hands. The most expensive option (I think it's still under 300 RMB) can involve everything. The front desk staff likely speak enough English- I've seen foreigners chilling out in robes playing XBox and watching TV and very likely enjoying the services of the young ladies there. The only negotiations occur with the girl herself, so make sure you bring some cash upstairs with you, if you really want to make sure everything goes smoothly, but I'm not sure it's even necessary. Best bet is to find a girl you dig and build a good rapport with her.

Approaching Guangzhou and the rest of the south, I'm speaking from experience up north: Shandong, further east in Henan, way up in Dalian, and even further into Dongbei. The conservatism of north and central China is not overstated but the south seems to be a victim of its own liberal tendencies. The perception of Guangzhou and Shenzhen and Dongguan as places that people can go for sex means that there's pressure on law enforcement and civic government to clean up the city. The cleanup is clearly not that effective but it seems to have reduced street-level sex work- I might be wrong here, though, because my first time to the south was in 2010, so. Take my thesis with a grain of salt- and allowed more luxurious establishments to continue providing service.

So, anyways, I'm just saying I'm cheap! I was spending a few days on the outer limits of Guangzhou, Baiyun District's Renhe Town, which is very much a migrant district, a lot of traffic coming and going from rural towns and cities close to Guangzhou and from outside the province. The area around the Renhe Subway station is mostly flophouses and grimy, cheap hotels, and the night market that sprouts along Renhe Damalu at dusk caters mostly to lowpaid migrant workers, lots of services for a transient population newly arrived in the big city, and the perfect place to look for the downmarket massage joints I dig.

I'm going to be vague about locations because I don't remember the exact street names, etc, but if anyone's interested, these places are easy to find, and if there's any interest I can take another walk to note more precisely the route. Basically: get off at Renhe station. There are only two exits, I believe. Let's treat the 7-11 as a landmark: get on the same side of the street as it and walk south, toward the nightmarket that happens along Renhe Damalu. It should be easy to figure out! Now, there will be lots of signs for dormitories and little hotels, and you need to be looking down each alley as you go.

A few blocks south, there's a place with a sign in the alley. It's called Xiao Xianggang Anmo. Turn right down the alley and right again into a smaller alley. It will be the usual scene of girls sitting around in short skirts, lazily watching TV, fanning themselves. There's no menu, really, and it was abundantly clear to everyone involved why I had arrived. Girls are typical dagong mei, none of them looked over 25, decent bodies. Off to Gaungzhou next week – it's my second time there, the first was a very short and packed trip with work colleagues during the oppressive heat of mid-summer, all of which mitigated against playtime.

Yes, I mean hotel. Two ways should be possible; visit massage parlour or call and order to room.

Massage rate should be around 300 RMB but any other extras (if available at all) can be ridiculously high. You can espext around 500-600 for HJ and 1 000 or more for FS.

Whatever they demand, don't agree and make it lower.
