But tell them you saw the price in the newspaper for 1000 pesos. 2 girls for 1500. Same as GBP. It was late February when Jao took me around to the casas, so yeah the Christmas lights are always up. Also can can GBP be compared to a casa? GBP is much less expensive and a bit "seedier".

Also, I can't remember the name of the strip club / hooker spot that Gogo took me to that was near GBP, but that would be in the same category as well (or either half a notch down.) Other places close to that area that Jao took me to (and that has the best SD hookers that I have seen) are Casa Azul, Casa Teresa, and Casa Modelos. They cost more and are along the lines of the places in Gazcue like Sky House and 305 but with much better girls.

When I was a kid the only day I received gifts was on Epiphany, Dia de los Reyes Magos. It is always January 6. The night before I had to cut grass to feed the camels.

In that part of the world the gift exchange often takes place on Little Christmas after 12/25. This year that was 1/5/14. This is based on the Biblical story of the arrival of the Three wise men bearing gifts to the manger after finding out about the birth of Jesus. It took them time to cross the desert. They are starting to adopt to the commercialized American way of exchanging gifts on Christmas day but the gift exchange part of the holiday is often celebrated on the "Epiphany" I think its called. The more educated are welcome to add to my comments but I have experienced this first hand on my travels in the Latino part of the world.

When I was a kid the only day I received gifts was on Epiphany, Dia de los Reyes Magos. It is always January 6. The night before I had to cut grass to feed the camels. While on Christmas gifts are put under the Christmas tree on epiphany gifts are put under the bed. I hate Santa, he never gave me gifts. In Puerto Rico Christmas season begin on thanksgiving weekend and end with the San Sebastian street carnival which this year is January 16-19.

I have seen dominican friends of good financial condition exchanging gifts (facebook pics) poor people barely can exchange gifts. I went to SD once on Christmas, it was fun but for sure we in Puerto Rico celebrate it a lot better.

I always enjoy your reports. I have several homes in ATL and love the city. I do not like casas. To me the girls are total hard core. I think they also get used more. SW come in many categories. When I was there in October they were starting to reopen, and I've seen recent reports in here that confirm it. I don't mess with the street walkers, but I saw the baddest one that I have ever seen on the corner of Pasteur and Independencia. Matter of fact it was 2 of them that looked like twins. Hazel eyed, brown skin, thick like I like them, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. If they were here in Atlanta, they would have easily been the baddest girls in our 2 office buildings.

I had a very interesting situation happen to me when I was in the Dominican Republic for Christmas. I spent a little bit of time with my tagged girl and bought her some nice presents for Christmas. As I gave her the presents I was expecting to atleast get one in return. She didn't give me anything at all. 0 nada. She said she didn't know she was supposed to buy me a present for Christmas. I talked to a few Dominican friends and they said Dominicans don't exchange Christmas presents. Is this true? Anyone have any experience with this?

I don't know why you would expect a Tagged chica to give you a present, and / or be disappointed if she didn't. I would've accepted her spreading her legs be an even exchange?

Anyhow, a chica that I was with last year, who seldom messaged me on FB over the last 6mos, started increasing her "amor","Como tu ta" messages right before Christmas time. You said the key word: commercialized. Money doesn't float as freely in Latin America as it does in the USA. When I was at my girlfriend's house last month I noticed that her sons don't have any toys, unless you count the couple of things that look like the toys out of a Happy Meal. Next time I am going to bring them a remote control car and helicopter or airplane. I'm sure they would enjoy that.

I brought my girl a new TV because there was only one old one (I don't watch TV, but now that I think about it that one may be black & white. LOL.) in the house. I set it up all good on her chest of drawers before she got home from work and the next day the guy came and ran the cable to it. She sent me a picture the other day that pissed me off. She has taken it off the dresser and ghettoized it. I know that she only did it because that is how she has seen them in other places. Her excuse was that her son almost made it fall off the dresser. Funny he has never made the old one in the other room almost fall off the dresser. Oh, and she did give me a bottle of cologne.
