I second Gergiev's opinion. The first time I went to Minsk, Jojosun gave me some very helpful advice that made my mongering much easier. Yes, it seems like he rambles a bit and at times he's guilty of being slightly incoherent but in my opinion he's full value. If I was considering going to a country I had never visited before but I knew JJ had been there, I would not hesitate to ask for his advice. He always replies to my PM's and apologizes when he doesn't answer immediately.

I have been thinking of doing this (bringing a girl from Kiev to DR) for a long time. So far I have not found a truly economical way to fly the girl from Kiev to either SDQ (Santo Domingo) or PUJ (Punta Cana). It is my understanding that since the girl generally does not have a visa for the USA or Canada, her flights cannot stopover anywhere in the USA or Canada, even for a short stopover of a few hours between flights. The lowest priced flights meeting that criteria seem to be flights on Ukraine Int'l from Kiev to Frankfurt, combined with a flight on Condor from Frankfurt to PUJ or SDQ. These flights for this March are around $1500 when I just checked.

Given the high cost of air travel for the girl, which must be added to the cost of an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana or elsewhere, or some nice upscale hotel, for such a plan, I have up till now opted for having the variety of many girls available to me when I fly myself at half the cost to Kiev.

Any planning tips to lower the costs would be helpful for a privately arranged DR adult vacation. There are a number of adult vacation companies offering companionship with pretty Ukrainian girls on a DR adult vacation package. They are pretty costly, but they have a variety of girls available, and one can switch out the companion each day, and try a different girl. If it would be possible to privately arrange one's own adult vacation with a Kiev girl at a much lower price, it might make more sense to me to do it on my own. But when costs of me doing it privately are almost what it costs to use the adult vacation companies that already exist, then one might as well book through an established adult vacation company and have the benefit of the variety of girls to choose from. Unless of course you've found true love with that one girl from Kiev and actually prefer all your time to be with just her.

I have done this before. There are direct flights to Punta Cana from Europe from November but your still looking at least $1500 US or more. I believe people from Russia and Ukraine do not need a transit visa for a stop over in the US when to changing flights.

Sorry, but I do not think the sentence "everything is normal in Kiev " is really the correct words to describe the situation right now, let us be honest with ourself. If you have to stay away from certain areas, that is not normal. If you have to be extra cautious, that is not normal. If you have to return to your apartement or hotel early, that is not normal. If you do not know what the situation will be after a week or two from now, that is not normal. Again, I love the city. Been there teens of times. Let us wait and see.

I agree with you. I am in Kiev now and everything is usual, just avoid Maidan and half of Kreshatik where start the barricades, which are open for people to pass through and go their works, but better as foreigners no to go there. And better to stay away from Maidan and from politics as everybody is right as the country is divided between Europe and Russia. Things are calming down now.

Flu Swine back in 2009 didn't stop me from landing in Kiev then during the height of the hyped up hysteria and had a great time. This time around what I see on TV and what I read and posted links to are relevant to me as I am already booked to land in Kiev later on this month, hence the Relevant posts below with links by the people in the know.

I am reluctant to post anything here; some "Ukraine professionals" flamed me much the last time I did, just because I was not aware that since my last visit (then) , River Palace has been towed away. Well, I do want to be fair to my fellow mongers, as I overcome the aforementioned hesitation, and give back to the Forum something useful, this time.

I celebrated New Year in Kiev, on the eve of revolution (barricades were already standing and the lights on Maidan have been extinguished. No tree this year.) , and I scored a very nice "almost freebie" (Ukrainian-Armenian, damage 600 hrivna "Support and taxi Money" for an all-nighter) using the method I prefer. Went to "Forsazh" on Friday night, at midnight, paid the silly 1000 hrivna "table deposit" (Drinks and food for the value included. I`m a fat guy, eat a lot of Sushi and wash it down with sparkly wine). Just make sure that you stay on the ground floor, the closer to the DJ the better, not the first, or the second floor, or the Basement (yes, on good nights, there are four floors open for the guests!) , and make that bottle of a bit sweetish, but otherwise quite correct "Asti Martini Prosecco" visible to the dyevs dancing. If you keep a smile on your face and a playful sparkle in your eye. And if you master some basic Russian (I am fluent, but my friend who is Spanish and can just say "vodka" and "Stalin" in Russian, he scored too). There will soon be some nice student-semi-pros vying for your attention.

Feed them, let them drink with you, and do not speak about the money, unless they mention it first. If they do mention it, anything beyond 800 hrivnas (if late) , or 1000 hrivnas (if early, and only if you really like the girl very much) should be laughed off in a jovial,"ja-ne-imeju-takoe-bogatstvo" (I-do-not-posses-such-riches) kind-of-way. Taxis wait outside (always a ripoff, try to organize a Pick-up or a Driver earlier in the evening. A car with a driver from a local rent-a-car."Sun Services", for instance. Costs like two hundred hrivnas for all evening, everywhere- same Price demanded by brazen Drivers in the front of the disco).

Now is a bit tricky to visit, but if the situation calms down some. I will be returning soon.

Otherwise, Kiev is not the cheapest place to visit and monger. Province is cheaper, but you need time to connect and explore. However, if You have an adventurous heart, and want to spend some quality time with the girls half your age (if you are older then 36, of course.). It still provides some tempting talent.

As I stated in my post, I meet them on mamba mostly, but not always. The fact I am living and working in Kyiv, I look younger than my age and dress well undoubtedly has helped me.
