I came across HK requesting small day pack be stored at the Front desk. Upon bag return a request for tip. They love Asian groups from what I see. Do they tip all the time?

Yes the tour groups are funny to watch as they pass through, that is if I'm already sitting with a chica, otherwise they clog things up, and I haven't noticed them tipping the chicas. Oh well, some regulars on here don't tip either, LOL.

I have stopped going to HK. It is just not that much fun anymore! (I swear I would never have ever said that!)

I never thought I'd read that from you, LOL.

Can't say I'll ever stop going, just maybe mix up the days and times that I go. Have had some good luck during the dayshift. There are soe favoritas that work at night that I don't want to give up though, just got to elbow your way through the sausage-fest to get to them, LOL.

After some serious pleading at 5am Thurs by one of my favoritas I arrived at HK and sat with her upstairs along the glass rail, second table from the north stairs. At about 6:15am, the drunk guy sitting behind me, table closest to the north stairs, fell and knocked the glass rail plate out of its bracket, sending it to shatter on the ground floor! Luckily it was 6am and not packed, otherwise it could have caused some serious injury, especially to a 90 lbs chica if it hit her just the wrong way. This was about a 4' x 3' plate of thick, tempered glass. Nobody was injured. Any of you forum members want to accept responsibility for this incident?

It's been like that for a while. IMO the best nights to go into HK are Sun through Wed. I love going in there at 11pm on those nights to nurse a beer.

Agreed. That's one reason I gave up on HK. I like the place but the incessant hustle just got to be too much. Constantly having to be on guard for the mesero "forgetting" to return your change, the nonsense regarding the cheese and chips, the constant pestering for fichas, the meseros trying to snatch a ficha drink before it was finished, on and on. Now they have a cover on Thursday? The girls demand (and, apparently, get) $80 to $100 for a half hour?

In contrast, in the last couple of years, at the more "local" clubs, I've been shortchanged exactly once. And that was for something like 20 pesos. I caught it but it wasn't enough to get pissy over. Only one place had the chip thing, but the mesero got my attention and offered them to me and wasn't put out in the least when I declined.

I wonder how many guys are getting hustled into thinking it was $5 beers all night? I usually do pay $5 a beer because I tip every time I purchase one. When you get into the $6 category then you start verging on USA prices.

Well, to be ridiculously pedantic, the $5 is the cover charge. You just get a "free" beer to ease the pain. Subsequent beers are $4. Which is a ridiculous price in any case.
