2) if she invites you to visit her family and the experience costs you more than if you were mugged by a 'tigere' on pedro clisante.

3) claims she does not normally do this and when she starts bobbing for apples does not leave any teeth marks (which, just thinking about it, might be a good thing!).

4) when walking with her, during the daytime, will step into a colmado, pull everything off a shelf, throw it on the counter, and expect you to pay for it.

5) has a high energy level at 8 in the night. still has a high energy level at 10 at night. still has a high energy level at midnight. and still has a high energy level at 2 in the morning.

6) when you ask her how much for sex she says 'any price you want, papi! ' when you respond '$50 pesos' she curses you out (if she curses you out in french, italian, german, russian, or chinese, since you do not speak these languages you might not notice).

7) or the other extreme-you ask her how much and the price she quotes you is larger than the national debt of the dominican republic.

8) and when you incredulously ask her why so much (using mr pooter's list) while she is wearing expensive clothes and shoes, dyed hair or a better braid job than any girl in the states, has tattoos, while holding a more expensive phone than you own (shame on you. just thinking about it, there is a fair chance that by the end of the night she might be holding your phone!) ; has colored contact lenses and a better looking manicure than angelina jolie; is shocked and angry that you do not believe her when she tells you she has no money and cannot feed her bambino (the fact that you met her at the casino, with her hand on a one arm bandit, her other hand holding a presidente [and one or two stray bottles nearby] does not in any way help her case!).

Flew into PAP today around 1:30. Had a driver, Jose Martinez, waiting for our party of 5. He was recommended, drives a minivan taxi and we will all pay him around $30US each when we depart on Monday for 24/7 driving. Checked into Residencial Hispaniola for two 4br villas. Others otw from Chicago.

Went to a Cambio recommended by Jose, exchange was 42. 2, declined and went Banco Providencial. Asked for $2k they said they only had $100, got them up to exchange $500 at 43. 17. They closed completely on the next customer who was part of my party. That wasn't strange as I read about them, what was strange was the guy who opened the door for me wielding a shotgun.

Went to the supermercado, spent about $9kD, picked up a $20US phone and went and cooked. Jose arrived within minutes and will hit the strip and usual haunts posted by others.

That's the same place I exchange my money when I'm in Sosua. I haven't found a better rate; it beats the "Big Playero", Western Union, Banco Popular, and definitely any money exchange person on the street.

That is an option. Question though. If I am correct you live in the DR fulltime? Do you have funds directly deposited to your SB account from outside the country? Or do you make all of the deposits into your SB account yourself?

I did with ScotiaBank, no fees for withdrawals. A checking account is a different matter, expensive to use

FYI for anybody; Went to Scotia Bank today to open a savings account. They gave me a form explaining what the criterior is for a non resident.

1) Need a passport.

2) Your drivers license or some other form of I'd.

3) A reference letter from your bank in the states addressed to Scotia Bank (they need to know you for at least 2 years ).

4) And lastly, a reference letter from your landlord in the DR addressed to Scotia Bank.

I have not tried any other banks, so I do not know any other banks policy for opening an account when one is a non resident.

Will probably check out another bank next week.

BTW, I went to Banco Providential earlier this morning, they told me to come back at 2:00 or 2:30pm. Someone else confirmed that they usually cater to the exchange guys 1st, before anybody else. The rate they had posted for US was 43. 17. Down from 43. 52 that I got back in late February. The exchange place by Orange was 43. 05.
Since I didnt feel like waiting or being told they could only exchange a smaller amount, I exchanged 3k in US cash with the place by Orange with no problem or hesitation whatsoever.

For all the guys that have been around many chicas from the DR know that a lot of them are very curios to the stuff you have with you and do not mind using stuff like your hair brush to comb there hair. Which does not really bother me but I suggest that all mongers put that shit away. I had a chica on this trip use my tooth brush for who only knows what because in the morning time I went to use and it had a big o black hair entangled in the end. I have to say Sosua pretty easily for me. I still think BB for a couple days is a good idea for a first timer, especially if you're traveling alone. I think it also depends on the guy, I've said I speak very little Spanish, but if the chica is sexy I will dam sure try. Some seem to enjoy it, like a game, trying to communicate. I've met a couple guys that spoke no Spanish and were pretty timid, lucky for them they did have an experienced monger with them that spoke Spanish, if they came alone I would say BB for sure for them.

How much more did she deserve?

I probably would of gave her 1500 pesos total if I had change, but she seemed happy and wants to see me again so I'm worried about it. But I guess thinking about it now, if 500 truly was her original request, not sure, then 1250 was generous. There are some scammers here, but there also are some that go out of their way to make sure you are happy and pleased. I try to reward that, but have tried not to be a fool about it.

Mr. E, I know you have a ton of experience. How much do you think it would cost a chica to get from PP to Sosua on public transportation? The BB chica I liked wants to come stay with me, said she would have to pay 1000 peso to miss work though. I need to find out how much she expects on top of that. I'm quoting because oddly enough my first ever Sosua chica I pulled tonight had Bush. But I'll get to that in a second.

I checked out if BB today and was a little sad to leave as I had gotten comfortable in that setting, but I was getting bored. I had met 4 other guys there who were checking out today and going to Sosua as well. A couple of Jamaican guys and and English mate. They knew nothing of the forum but 1 of them did have a previous trip under his belt. He kept telling his friends if Blackbeards is like the zoo we are about to go to the jungle with Sosua. After my first night I would say that's pretty accurate, not that it's bad but you just need to be much more aware of your surroundings that BB. I should also probably mention I know about 10 Spanish words total and had zero problems at BB.

I took a taxi over from BB (1700 pesos) and arrived at Rocky's. There was a slight communication problem with my reservation. I'm not placing blame, it was probably my fault. I thought I was staying at Sosua suites, he had me down for mary rose. Both places were fully booked so no worries, I'll make it work and rick seems like a good guy. I actually really like mary rose and the security I just wanted the proximity of sosua suites.

It's about 5pm and I walk around to check things out and get some dinner. It's already starting to pick up and the chicas are aggressive. I'll be damn, you tell them maybe later and they still remember your ass 5 hours later. I find Rocky's and have to try the ribs that everybody talks about. They were pretty good, I ate in peace and enjoyed the scenery of the chicas going in and out of the hair place next door. I finish up and decide to walk the strip some more. I check out rumbas and it was already kind if overwhelming. Oh what's with the pizza place next to the latins? There were some sexy mamis in there working and having fun dancing, I need to look into this more. I decide to go home and take a nap and debate not even going out.

It's my first night, who am I kidding, I can't stay at home. I rest for a bit and hop on a motor cycle taxi (Jesus I make note not to do this if I'm drunk). It's tiny, maybe 8 bar stools and one big booth but he's and good guy and knowledgeable. He had some of the cheapest drink prices I've seen in sosua so far, he wants to add a simple food menu and serve until late in the night. That would be great because there isn't much down here late. Check him out, I hope he makes it.
