    Spasibo

Spasibo Ukeboy, Irish Lad for the info.

Yes as election approaches situation worsens. Odessa 1 dead today in center. Kiev too may become a battle zone.

And this may go on even after election.

    Ciao.

Sberbank Rossii allows 4, 000 grivna per day per card, a whole lot better.

As Irish Lad said, you may have to go to several banks as well as use several cards to get what you need.

Credit cards work normally but not all places take cards.

    Good luck.

I always felt safe in Kyiv and I still think if you keep an eye open its not a problem to visit Ukraine (especially the capitol city)

But some days ago my friend was hijacked by a taxi driver. He was driving him to some dark place and suddenly stopped the car. Then he threatened him and beat him by saying the words "European go home. You fuck our girls and kill our country"

And this was not the first time since last weeks I recognized anti-foreign behavior on the streets. I just managed the situation always cause I speak ukrainian and Russian language too.

    Anyway: development is shocking.
Thanks for the update as I'm rethinking my plans for Kiev. I think city is best left to mongers that can pass as locals and can speak the language. I had my previous bad experience there last Sept, so I think it's better to try new places or fly out a girl for a inexpensive vacation.

I have to wonder where this "anti-foreign behavior" comes from in Kiev. UN (IMF) , EU, and USA are giving Ukraine something like $32B. Shouldn't they be thankful to foreigners instead? Or are they agitated Russians in Kiev who are hostile against foreigners?

The ATMs are working almost alright. Some don't accept Mastercard and other nuances but it should be ok if you don't mind trying 2-3 of them.

If anyone has some contacts they like to share.

    Hi everyone!

I am going back to Kiev in June and are looking for some nice girls to meet. Since I have had a girlfriend there for over a year, I am a little bit out of the game. So if anyone has some nice girls (that they don't use anymore or like to share) , it is very welcome. I prefer student and GFE type girls. But all is welcome. The only thing is that they need to speak English. Sadly I don't have any contacts in return.

So if anyone wants to help, give me a pm.

    Yours sincerely,

    The Mercy Seat!

"Just wanted to let you know. Be extra aware of your surroundings. I've heard from some friends (journalists and Maidan folks) that there are a lot of "tourists" in town. When I asked what was the reason for their visit:

"To stir shit up and terrorize the population. There will likely be some fake marches over the weekend / fake protests and you might see some more (fake) neo-Nazis coming up out of the woodwork too."
