It is now showing much wear and tear but was very good value when fresh. I decided to spend bigger and try the Majestic Grande. I booked directly with them at some suggestion here on ISG. I got the room for 4 nights at just under 3, 000 bt per night. When I checked in they upgraded me to a larger room. Breakfast was not included but wifi was. The price for their breakfast buffet is a whopping 480 bt per person. Had I booked on WOTIF I could have added breakfast for 150 per day and would have done so. I saw no option on the hotel's own site to include breakfast with the room. I liked the room and all just fine. I did not use the pool.

For my next stay I wanted comfort but at a lower price. I found Grand Sukhumvit on Soi 6 listed on Late Stays for 2, 000 per night including breakfast. I should have booked more than my 2 days. I liked this property just as much as MG and it was 1, 000 cheaper and included breakfast. They also upgraded me upon check in and I had an enormous suite. When I tried to book more days the price was up to 2800 so I shopped for a 3rd hotel.

The WOTIF Mystery Deal says."A renovated 4 star hotel on Soi 11 with breakfast" so I booked 5 nights at 1, 450 baht. This turned out to be the Grand President. The standard room puts you into Tower 3 and I see no signs of renovation, it's old, it's worn, it's smelly. It's NFW 4 star. I'm trying to get upgraded as I complained at the desk that it is not 4 star. Standing by on that.
Majestic Grande is a bit pricy but their breakfast is superior to most. GS6 deal was excellent.

GP11 is not an amazing deal but at that price you can't expect too much. I don't use it or Soi 11 any more. President Palace would be better.

In This "upgraded" room the broadband stopped working after one day. Some router problem says my computer and they are unable to acknowledge that. Now I'm on an overloaded slow wifi system. The breakfast is merely ok. But the bottom line on Grand President is to give it a miss unless you are a low budget monger and get a standard room for 1450. Even then I believe you'd be happier at Check Inn Nana on Soi 7/1 for a bit less. I read that it's new and still fresh.C4T
Wow I stayed at GP heaps of times. Not so much as of lately as I am getting more and more picky and needs some luxury.

I bet if they moved you to tower 2 you would have had a much better overall exp as atleast their deluxe / junior suites are spaicious and of 1 bdr sise apartments (50-60sqm). But I agree it is getting wore down and is in need of a brush up anytime soon. I believe they have brushed up tower 1.

I used GP simply bcs I am a nightclubfan and it is located close to Climax, Levels, Bash, Q Bar, shortcut over to BG, a few decent outside restaurants, Villa Market, pharmacies and so on all located in Soi 11. Also close to Insanity (soi 12 former Insomnia night club). Even Hillary 3 in mentioned soi have a few beauties working if you want a quick game of pool and some in rolm action.

The suites will run for around 2200bht (sometimes incl breakfast and also incl 2 free wifis).

Bangkok hotels that allow 2 guests

    Hello,

I'm planning my next monger trip and have been to BKK 5 times now but always had a problem with 3 somes. Most hotels don't allow the 3rd guest or charge a fee for the 2nd joiner. Any suggestions on decent hotels that allow 2 joiners without question or have a minimal fee for the 2nd joiner? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    syzygies, oldharry and abb8912,

thank you for your comments and suggestions. all the wifi i need is for answering emails and not for any heavy usage. the only video would be for news broadcast feeds or news clips.

Before the girls were eating and grouping at the terrace of the ground floor, facing the street / car park. In different level of clothing Woollen warming socks above fishnet stocking, flip flops and alike.

Nothing sexy at all to look at. Seemed the backstage of a strip club where girls show up their heavy make up. Seeing them eating some soup, maybe spicy and thinking that mouth is shortly to do a BBBJ doesn't appeal to me.

Now the recreational area has been moved to the back where the huge safe is. A bit less obvious and out of sight.

I similarly never like much when I go in a bar and staff is eating as in a canteen, even if I know TIT.

wifi is free of charge, but too slow and almost non existing most of time. yes you can ask for lan cable from counter, but not much help on the speed.

Stayed in November last year and is my normal place of choice. Guest friendly (although only ever had one at a time) ok breakfast buffet but monsoon restaurant is pretty good, always had deluxe or exec suite which are nice and big, bathroom has separate tub and big shower (room for 2!) and a 7-11 almost next door. Will stay there this October.
