Millenium, I've stayed at the Marriott that Dickhead describes, and indeed it's not convenient unless you want to be close to the airport, or on the west side of town in case you're headed to someplace like Arenal the next morning. I suspect you'd be fine at the Marriott Courtyard or Residence Inn in the Escazu area, unless you're planning on bringing back women that look like sluts. I however have no idea what their guest policies are like. Escazu is the best area in San Jose for upscale restaurants and clubs. It's maybe 20 minutes by taxi from the Del Rey, which is freelancer ground zero. While at the Del Rey, I'd suggest you also check out Key Largo across the street, which has a more relaxed environment and a live band. The Del Rey goes 24 hours a day, but the best talent is there in the evenings.

During the day and early evening, given that you guys don't speak much Spanish, you might check out Zona 2 and Scores, which are essentially side-by-side hotels / brothels that cater to gringos. The last time I visited, the place was called Hotel Little Havana / Zona Blue. But I understand they've since split the business into two.

The club / bordello advice is a bit of a shot in the dark as I'm not a swinger. Good luck, hope you have a good time.

OK... I'm not dead-set on a Marriott-brand, just would blow some points if that was an option. I did see one in Escazu and had heard that was a happening area. Not so for mongering and the like? What are some hotel suggestions, or more importantly areas / spots that would be a bit morecouples-friendly? Please let me know.

Hello all. I've been active in ISG for years, but this will be my first time in Costa Rica. I've read through many of the great threads / reports of distinction in this forum, but I had a fairly unique request I was hoping for some insights on. Unlike most of my international trips which are for business, this one is for pleasure. I will traveling to a few different destinations in Costa Rica: Arenal, Coco beach and a few nights in San Jose, and I will be traveling with my girlfriend. She is gorgeous, and very open-minded. And we will be looking for some adult-themed fun while in San Jose. So what I am asking for is any advice on venues / stip clubs / bars / etc that would have SP's in a more couple-friendly environment, or perhaps some type of swinger's spots. Are there any particular days of the week that are best? Also, any advice / connections on obtaining "party favors"? I realize some of this may be beyond the scope of this forum, perhaps PM me if you have any private advice.

Perhaps would be interested in a guide / liason to show us around. As mentioned, we are open-minded, so you could get lucky if the vibe is right (completely straight only)

We are both American (she is latina) , and our spanish is very is limited. We will likely be in SJ the weekend of May 31. Our pic is attached.

I just spent four months living in that same block. Scores is 20k for half hour (chica + room) and 27. 5k for an hour. So about $50 an hour. Zona II is also 27. 5k for an hour. Don't know if they have a half hour rate, bet they do, but I don't know what it is. Beers 1. 500 in Scores vs. 1.300 in Z2. Z2 has happy hour 5-7 2 for 1 local beers. MF only, not Saturday. Z2 is closed on Sunday. Z2 closes at 8 PM. Rooms are nicer in Z2 than in Scores. As far as night time prices, Scores was trying a business model of letting in freelancers after the shift girls left at I think 8 PM, and letting them charge whatever; not sure how that worked out. They play the music too fucking loud in Z2 and Scores is better for watching sports. In either case the chicas will go home with you after closing but of course Z2 closes much earlier so is better for take home from that standpoint. Z2 has theme parties every Friday afternoon which is cool but on the other hand the chicas at Scores get naked much more readily. Scores has good pizza. Z2, if you take a chica you give her the money and she walks up to the bar where they keep the keys. So everyone knows your business. Scores, you take her to the hotel front desk and pay. But, the rooms are much closer to the bar than in Z2. So everyone knows your business either way! Bartenders are friendlier at Scores but then again drink prices are higher. Z2 marks up the price of the chica's drink (although you definitely don't need to buy her a drink to fuck her) whereas Scores does not.

Now, as far as pussy goes. We should probably talk about that, right? Z2 usually has better looking chicas and more of them (it is just a bigger place in general, maybe twice as big) but in Scores you get to feel up the merchandise a lot more. Z2 has more ticas relative to nicas while Scores has more nicas relative to ticas and also some colombianas. Z2 might have colombianas but I never met any. In the four months I was there I fucked way more from Scores and since each was equally convenient, that must mean I preferred the pussy at Scores. You really can't go too far wrong in either place and if you do go wrong you are out 50 bucks and a couple of drinks so the risk is low. Both are run by guys from the US and in particular I would not want to fuck with the guy who runs Z2 as he is one big dude.

Thanks for the summary. I was just confused by the various posts I have seen because they were vague enough to make me wonder what was actually going on from a pricing and process perspective. But in the end, the out of pocket cost seems to be roughly similar to what it was before the places split in two. LOL No problem staying in-house during the day, but I prefer my own room at night. Will have to check out Scores to see if the night time model is still in-place as it sounds like it might just be an alternative to HDR / KL when that place is not functioning on all cylinders. But it sounds like if Scores des still have a night time model, I suspect they would close-up shop as soon as there are no customers. HDR is 24-7 regardless of what's going on. LOL

I will be going to SJO for Memorial Day weekend. Wish I had more time so I could make the trip to Medellin, but I just do not have it. Medellin has spoiled me, but I know I can still find good times in SJO whether it be the normal haunts or amigas. What I am curious about is the pricing structure at Scores and Zona 2. I have seen references to a difference between daytime and nighttime prices. Can someone explain? I was also wondering if the nighttime girls can be taken off the premises? I much prefer the comfort of my room when possible.

I'm on the way to CR for the first time on Thursday. I've mongered all over the planet, so this is a real treat. As a CR newbie, I'm staying at Hotel Del Rey. I've read the posts and understand that it is not the normal five star hotel. But, I'm a NEWBIE there, and want to experience ground zero for real. I'll check out other hotels for future visits. I'll be there five days, reports to follow. Any final advice appreciated.

1. The quality is sometimes better in the late afternoon and better negotiating at that time.

2. Stay on the 4th floor or higher, ask for an outer and / or corner room (411, 511, etc) , generally a bigger room.

3. Avoid the mini-bar.

4. Check out the Key Largo across the street, part of the Del Rey, after 10 pm Sometimes you can find a semi-pro who hasn't just come downstairs with condom breath, LOL.

5. Generally, the girls like it better if you stay at the Del Rey, cause they're right back in the race in no-time.

6. Don't count on TLN; the girls in CR don't know what that is, unless you're willing to pay $200-300.

7. Negotiate before you do the deed and keep your shit locked up. I came out of the shower once and caught the girl digging through my shit; kicked her out with not paying anything.

8. Girls with drugs is getting to be more prevalent than years past.

9. Don't buy into buying girls, even the bartenders, shots. I've seen many a foolish Gringo when they get their $200 bar tab; not a pretty sight.

Last, don't get drunk and act a fool. Respect their country and don't feel that by being a tourist that you're above the locals.

1. Since it is ground zero you will be tempted to take many girls upstairs. It will cost you. You could have stayed at Morazon which is cheaper and allow girls in for free.

Morazon is nearby walking distance.

2. There are many shady characters hanging around Del Ray offering this and that-Avoid them.

3. All the girls claim they are hungry and restaurant is comparatively expensive. Walk a couple of blocks where food is cheaper.

4. Finally do not go for "Cien deal" Negotiate down to $60 ST and maybe $100 for LT

Comparing Thailand or Phil to Costa rica is like comparing INDUSTRY to a RETAIL STORE. This is true in every aspect be it quality, quantity, price, variety.

I visited Costa rica quite frequently until one day when I went to Thailand and I knew what a huge difference it was.

So I finally went to see what the area was like in San Jose. How can anyone compare it to Thailand or Phillipines. The average MPs are much older women that are very overweight and unclean in appearance. I went to New Fantasy and saw a girl Allison who seemed the best available. She was 29 and looked worn out. She was ok with a BBBJ for an extra 20. After walking to a lot of MPs and checking them out New Fantasy was certainly the best but in no way worth the trip. Hotel Del Ray had quite a variety of women around from Dominican, Locals and some other places. These girls seemed very hardened and were eager to approach if you looked at them but were nice enough to walk away when you said no thanks. I took out a Dominican girl who said she was 22 and working in Del Ray for 3 years now. She promised the world and refused to deliver until I said that it was time to go and find another girl. Service was certainly sub par in San Jose. I decided to go one night to the beach and check out Jaco. The Hotel Cocal was a nice property and the area was like a small beach town. The streets are not covered with women all over as stated in other posts. In fact Streets were quite emply everywhere as if it was a ghost town. This is not the hotspot that people are portraying however at the Cocal there were some stunners and It was easy to find a good looking (8-9) to take out to a local hotel for some fun. I had a great time with a beautiful 22 year old who smiled and giggled the whole night. She was great at her chosen profession and a sweetie. I would go back just to see her. So MPs in San Jose. Not worth it. Very old, Very heavy, very dirty. Del Rey was everything you read. Plenty of women all around and it was a lot of fun to sit at the bar and watch the parade of the women walk back and forth. Hotel Cocal was nice property more like high end looking and the girls overall were beautiful around the outside pool bar. Nice atmosphere. Would I go back to Costa Rica? Maybe with a girlfriend to the beach or for the Volcanos but not for the women. Thailand and Phillipines is the best.

Very good report. I do agree with you. Philippines. Fantastic. I just spent 8 nights in Makati. Had a 22yo eager to please. Fantastic time.

I do have trip coming up in May to S. J. During my last trip I did find a nice local girl in Del Rey. Too bad it was my last night.

So if you are patient and look around, there are ones in Del Rey that will provide good service.
