    Hi fellow mongers,

Starting with a question. I am taking a first timer to Cuba (myself is fairly new as been to Cameguey twice and was helped by a family who worked in hotel so all worked good for the most part).

Now this guy wants to go to Havana. The tickets now is $700+ for hotel + flights. I want to book flights only and land there go to a casa which is again, "Safe", chica friendly, English speaking, close to discos, no police, etc.

I know I am asking the biggest trade secret here but please do help me out as I need a partner in crime for future and wants to make him feel good in there.

    Much appreciated!

    Soon to be expert monger.

    My buddy and the Santiaguera

He was planning to hang out in Havana for a day, head to Trinidad for about 2 days, then go to Santiago to spend time with her. Somehow, she talked him into having her meet him at the airport in Havana. So she traveled to Havana, met him at the airport and the whole thing was a nightmare for him although he had been to Cuba several times before AND was a fluent Spanish speaker.

I had actually advised him against the idea of his chica meeting him at Jose Marti airport when he was in the process of planning his trip. He said he missed her so much and wanted to maximize the amount of time they would spend together, now he never wants to see her again. He told me that his trip would have been better of she had just met him at the Viazul bus station in Santiago. Es Cuba!

What actually happened that he never wants to see her again?
To summarize, she was super clingy and controlling, as if she was afraid he was going to leave her and hook up with another chica. For men, Cuba is a visual joy, with all the tight clothes and short skirts, and she kept on calling him out for not paying her more attention (WTF! She also tried to get him to spend as much money as possible, and wanted him to reimburse her around 120 CUC for the flight she claimed she took from Santiago to Havana to meet him. The idea of coming to Havana was hers, and she had never mentioned she was going to fly there. In another situation, they were going sightseeing and she said she knew someone with a taxi (That is normal in Cuba), but the person charged him 35 CUC for a trip that should not have cost more than 20 CUC. When he protested he thought she would join in and support him but she just stood there and said nothing (Partly his fault for not having negotiated the price in advance, but.). When they went to a paladar she invited her mom and uncle at the very last minute, and kinda failed to ask him about it first. He would not have objected, but was pissed she did not. And on and on.

Basically, he figured that at least the Havana and Trinidad part of his trip would have been nicer had he been alone. So beware those who want to travel with a woman they do not know well.

Which is fine by me because we should keep the trade embargo up. Cuba needs to be USA friendly, for our own sake. And if there is a militantly anti-US regime in place, than the pedal needs to stay on the floor until they change their mind or are overthrown.
I could care less about Fidel and Raul. I do like being able to go somewhere and not see the monger crowd from the USA. Cuba fits that bill right now. I'm able to avoid those folks in Colombia as well.

So, I gathered that a safe option would be to get a nice hottie and not worry about not getting into too much of a trouble. Of course, if I am in Sosua or Thailand, it is a different ball game all together.

Cuba is Advanced Punting and Advanced Tourism. Not a good place for casual guys to cut loose. You have to be methodical and detail oriented in many ways just to stay on the good side of the law.

If you really want an easy, affordable party haven, I think that the DR would better suit your needs for latino women, Thailand for asian women, or Germany for European women.

IMO Cuba is not your spot if you are coming out of an divorce. Go to Sosua and have a ball. It is gringo friendly, easy to navigate and has a beach. It also has nice outer towns close by like Cabarette and Puerto Plata to do day trips. The girls are everywhere in the DR.

Cuba is hard on first timers so don't waste your time if you are coming out of a marriage. And stop the GFE thing please. You are free now have fun with a lot of girls to break the spell. Good luck Sir.

Cuba trip to celebrate my divorce

    1) I am looking for cab drivers / local guides who speak a little bit of English. My Spanish is poor and I am still learning. So, if I can use a regular cab driver / local guides that will show me around that would be great.

    2) I would like to book casas that are girl friendly. I understand getting girls in and out of Casa is not a straight forward proposition. So, if you have contact information of some good casas that will be awesome.

    3) I am not going to Cuba for sport fucking. I would be happy if I find a hottie who will hang out with me for the whole week. I want to go to salsa clubs, music venues, restaurant, etc. If you know any girls and pass on the contact info to me, I promise I will treat them well.

Of course, I also look forward to venture out on my own and find some gems. I will definitely report back on these gems. I am now free to go to a lot of mongering places. Cannot wait to try them all.
