Hotel Review. Limketkai Luxe Hotel, CDO

4-star, most everything is top-of-the-line. Beautiful lobby (complete with player paino), staffed with young, attractive, professionals the moment you walk in the door to greet you. Fast checkin. Outdoor pool on floor 3 (pics). Pool was heated. Lovely Deluxe room, plenty of space. Good solid wifi. Also found a network jack in the wall, and plugging in got me 6-8 mbps down, 1+ up (very good by any phils standards in a large hotel). Right next to the KetKai mall, and attached, with two second-floor walkways leading to the mall for guests. Next to the mall are Starbucks, McDonalds, Robinson's, a massage place. On the other side of the Luxe (from the mall) is a strip-mall with a Rose pharmacy, Jolibee, and across the street is a coffee joint.

The restaurant is one of the better you will run into, not only for the free (large) buffet breakfast, but for anything (fuzzy pic of part of menu). The pic of the drink menu is from the pool area. Breakfast included about 10 hot-plate items (see pic), a cheese / cracker table, breads table, desert table (no kidding), pancakes / waffles, guy making omlettes, and on alternating days a guy carving either ham or roast beef, and a fruits table.

Drawback: You have to sign-in at the pool (room number), which is fine. But you are greeted by 4-6 kids (like the Cebu-Pacific staff at the airport) who all say "Good afternoon sir". There's a sign-in girl, several waiters, a trainer, etc. They like to hover around you (and your guests), trying to get you to buy the over-priced drinks, etc. You never feel left alone. Even when they finally get the hint that you don't need them for anything, they huddle together 10 meters away and stared at us. We tried the pool daily, and this was SOP. Extra towels are provided at the pool. The pool is beeee-you-tiful.

Another drawback: the room-cleaning / housekeeping kid. He would ring the doorbell 2-3 x / day, simply to ask if I needed anything. Extra bottle of water sir? No, stud, we just need our privacy. Notice, young man, I've turned on the Do Not Disturb light. Also stud I'm busy putting baby goo into these two young honies. "Oh, yes sir!" 2 hours later, the light still on, he knocked again. I (and my honies) tore the room up at least once daily; sex all over the place, they danced all over the place, etc. They would shower several times a day and leave a water trail akin to the great flood. The housekeeping kid that knocked a lot also was glad to clean the room more than once / day. I got him some breads everyday.

They are still working on the area leading to the pool, installing a fitness room. From outside, under the pool area on the 3rd floor, is some construction that is an eyesore to such a nice-looking place. However, I was on the 15th floor, and never heard anything from below: no noise from traffic, construction, etc. The room was completely silent except when I turned on the aircon (didn't need it, the room stayed at 21-22 celcius the whole time) or opened a window.

Great hotel. I got the promo price of 3300/ night online.

    Fuck Zamboanga

I passed through Zamboanga about a year ago for an exit visa run to Malaysia. I highly advise avoiding the shit out of that place. I had been in the country a while, I felt I knew the ropes, I had a Filipina with me, I did my research online. I thought I knew what I was doing. It was a serious mistake. The people there are hostile in various shades from open to veiled, even to other Filipinos who are not from that region. Not everyone we met, but enough to make it quite an unpleasant trip.

When I got back from Sandakan, I stayed one night at the the Filipina's relatives. We left the next morning. After I got back to Negros, she gets a text from the relatives that there are some guys at their house who want to "interview" the foreigner. Thank my lucky stars that we didn't stay an extra night. I would have been cat meat. Oh yeah, and then a few months later there was the attempted rebel coup where they shot the shit out of everything. Glad I missed that too.

Stay the fuck way from that place, if you value your life. There's plenty of locations to enjoy hot girls in the Philippines, even in Mindanao, without mortally endangering oneself.

If you have to go to Zamboanga, the advice I can give is this: Pre-book your travel and stay at the most expensive hotel you can find. Don't go anywhere else. Keep a low profile. As soon as you finish your business, get the fuck out. If you go there for mongering, you are out of your mind.

But for what it's worth, probably not much, I had long conversations with 3 different people from Zamboanga. I was talking to an older women and was describing what I like. 18-20 yo, black eyes, dark, guapa, slim. She said the best place to find a nice girl like that is Zamboanga. And something about how the Spanish heritage makes them good partners. I just laughed, especially after reading the recent posts GE and AV added..

Please tell us more about your travels and your travel tips for Zamboanga.

She said true, they will be watching you. But some crap about how they have international connections, and they have ways of finding out if you're worth kidnapping of not. So if you're on a small pension, say 60 k pesos a month, they won't bother. But if you're a Catholic priest, or are worth more money, you're at high risk. And she knows of a Filpino that got it, they're not even picky.

A second guy from there, a pretty good friend, insisted I'd be in hog heaven. And it's almost impossible for them to pull off a kidnapping in the city proper because there's all kinds of police and military everywhere watching. And there's allot of foreigners living there.

The third guy said ya, that's true. But what makes you think the police and military are all good guys? They turn their back, or are in on it, and you're snatched. Don't know how much of that I believe but fuck that, it don't matter. If that's the secret spot, it's going to remain secret to me.

Hotel Review CDO / VIP Hotel

    Reposted from Dragon Slayer's forum.

One of the many, many older hotels in the Divisoria section of town on Velez, corner Pacana. Typical facade, decent lobby and restaurant. Rooms are dated and in need of paint. I had a Business Class room (least expensive) at p1950/ night (breakfast included for 2; and +250 for extra girl, and boy did I have an extra girl on certain days). The Staff is very good, from door security to the front desk and the room cleaners. My name was remembered and they went out of their way to accomodate me.

In the area: Around the corner on Borja street is a salon; got a hair cut and manicure. Across Velez corner Borja is a bread bake shop; ever morning I stop and pick up 50-100 p hopia or such and give to the Staff as tip. Up the street towards the city park on Neri St is Jolibee, and one block over from that on Tiano St is a McDo (open early). One block from the hotel on Pacana is Innovations Laundry. Across the street from Innovations is a coffee shop with free wifi. One block north from the hotel on Velez is a restaurant (Bagong Lipunan) with a sign that says "Best Pancit in town", and dammit, its true (try the guisado). Its a gritty area (most of CDO is gritty), but everything in the world is a 5-minute taxi ride away. In the area is Beat and Pulse discos (next door to each other and across from Dynasty Court hotel, which closed since Christmas and has reopened). Pulse has a cover charge, and is probably the most popular place in town. We went early on a Saturday to get a table, and the the place packed up by 10 pm. There are two malls (Centrio / Ayala and KetKai) within 7 minutes by taxi, and at least one market area (Cogon) about a 7 minute walk from the hotel. Along the Neri street in the area of McDonalds is a fresh-fruit vendors area; plenty of bananas / apples / mango on the cheap.

Hotel breakfast is buffet with the usual assortments of eggs, fish, meats, fruits, coffee / juice (see pic).

Wifi was typical provincial slow, router too far down the hall, and disconnected about 2 x / day.

Surigao, pretty much a dump, has a little scene by the passenger ferry terminal. There's a few cute girls roaming around the streets along the BBQ stalls. A pretty 21 year old wanted to spend the night for 500. Other than that, the regular talent didn't seem all that impressive. Had a look around Sairgao Island, not allot in terms of women but it's a pleasant island.

What is kinda interesting though is this. I was roaming around the hills outside of Surigao City and for the second time I saw the same cutie standing on the side of the road. I don't know what the hell she was doing, she lives nearby, but I didn't see any house. Anyway she had been texting me like crazy since the first time we met. So this time I was laying on the sweet talk and trying to get her in a more private place so we could start making out. But it wasn't going to happen till I was her boyfriend. So I split and by the time I had gotten to my destination I had a broken English-text-marriage proposal.

Well that's not so interesting in itself, text marriage proposals aren't uncommon. But I was talking to my Pinoy store owner friend and since he's been introducing me to beautiful young students I told him about the guapa girl I met. Well turns out he knows her and her family well, and he asked me if I could keep my mouth shut about what he was about to tell me. Her and her family are all NPA (National Peoples Army).

I can't think of any reason he would lie about something like that (unless he wants to get killed and have his store burned down). I think he was just telling me as a friend. Him and a few others have told me that there's the real NPA who don't have any beef with anyone but the government, but there's a Muslim knock off, fake NPA that will fuck with anyone. But if it's true it goes to show that even in the safe areas it's not far from the surface. I just read in today's paper how hundreds of families fled their Barangay just in hills of Mainit which is going to Butuan. Big gunfight between NPA and the government that left a couple dead rebels.

Let me ask what you think of this AV, or anyone else please? That incident was probably way off the track, but I was just fixin to take that route, along the western side of Lake Mainit to Butuan. Then I intended to hit Bislig. But I'm still debating whether to double back and ship out from Butuan, or continue from Bislig down the coast to Mati. If I did that, I'd sail out from Iligan via CdO. That would give me a good excuse to stop in and eat my favorite pussy in Davao for a while. The Davao pussy is borderline worth it, but you guys think either Mati or Iligan would be worth any of the hassle?

    Thanks, Sam.
That is one delicious looking pussy! I am a sucker for an unshaven, untamed, naturally hairy young pussy. It should be a crime to shave that off!

Beg to disagree to an extent.

Any date site for Filipinos prove the most buxom and wholesome beauties are mostly from the south, of course the profile pictures may be fake, or they maybe genuine. No pain, no gain. Ouch.

When I have decided to stop living a peaceful life I may do a run of South Cotabato, Gen San, Sultan Kudarat. And call it quits.

    Wish me luck.

    Joking.

I know of fella's who do stuff like catching a bus across the island from Dipolog to Davao etc. You can do it but its very risky. Why do it? If you must wander off into the jungle then do not look & act like a tourist. Keep a low profile & blend in. Ok if you know how, asking for lightning to strike if you don't.

I can't add much to what AV recommends. Zamboanga remains a potentially dangerous place for foreigners, and there's no reason for anyone who doesn't have business there to expose himself to the threat of potential harm.

I was just chatting with a woman from there today and she said it's not a place outsiders want to be unprotected. Her comment was "South is very Danger four you".

She is a pretty straight laced mature woman with a decent job and education. I think it may take more lies than I want to tell to convince her leave and meet me elsewhere, so I take what she said at face value. Other than her comments, I don't know as I have never been there, but I'm sure members who live in the Philippines can say whether they would travel there.
