If dudes are complaining about Sosua after going there many years without establishing a couple backup spots, well maybe that's what you deserve. For years now the vets have been branching out and advising others to do the same. Now your Sosua isn't what it was. You got behind in the game instead of staying in front of it.

That article is at least ten years old but still valid. It is a useful reminder that prostitution for gringo visitors is only a minor part of the scene and that most of the putas who seem new and "fresh" to us have been doing that job full-time or part-time near where they live since 15 or 16. Usually without protectives or other contraception, which is why so many under-20's we meet have one or two children already.

I'm sure you did, but just asking.
Not that it matters sometimes. As I've had chicas flip the script before.
I was on the stroll last night too, 2nd time to DR. But first time on the stroll at night.
Looked just like a regular club scene back home.
I got 3 chicas last night, 1200/1500/2000. All with same services, all were about a 7, and surprising the later the night the higher the rate.
I had chicas walking away at 2000!
I'm still new but surprised, when most advice was for me to walk away at 2000 and then they would renegotiate.
Since I was pretty much dealing with the 7's territory, can't imagine the 9-10.
Will find out in the days to come I guess.

Posts: 82Sosus is crap! Whats has happened in the past year and a half?
Sosua has went to the dogs! I will never return!
Been traveling there for over 8 years and genuinely had a good time everytime I went. However my recent trip has me thinking I should go elsewhere. Its been about 1 year + since I been there and have noticed a lot of changes. Firstly there are way too many brothers out there! I literally felt as if I was back home! And without a doubt they are inflating the market price. Its a shame because from what I can remember 2 k pesos was a decent price for an overnight. I hardly ever had issues with this before but this time it seemed to be a problem. I usually date hatiannas because they're more gentle less aggressive and more genuine IMHO. First hatiana I picked was a nice, petite calm quiet one in from of the disco. She seemed very pleasant, was very calm, not too much makeup. We spoke briefly, hung out on the beach and talked then went back to my spot to do the do. As soon as we got in her demeanor changed, no no no and then the rules started to come. Nice body, but her change in attitude killed it for me! 1500 here you go never will see you again!
Second one was a dark Hatianna with a killer body. A little aggressive at fist which shouldve been a red flag but I gave benefit of the doubt. Ended up settling for 1500 todo noche. She seemed happy and thrilled. She said yes yes all night with a smile. However the same exact thing as before PWOBLEM girl!. Rules rules rules I want this I don't do that blah blah. Oh you supposed to sex me now! Blah blah blah. I barely could keep hard because after 2 minutes she said leche leche leche. WTF is going on in Sosua? I would never expect this behavior from a Hatianna.
Last one was a Halle Berry looking Dominicana. Sexy as hell, sick body nice everything. She asked 3500 and I was like WTF? But since my luck wasnt so well before I figured what the hell, why not. We get back to the spot make out for a bit but I can see in her face she wasn't into it. She refuses to suck, and gave a immature attitude about things. Sex was decent however in the morning the typical, ayyy me voy a me casa. Blah blah blah. I need to go! We agreed to more action the night before. Whatever, I'm emotionally drained and shocked at these three. If they didn't like the price they shouldve refused! But anyway I dropped her off at the bomba and got some food and relaxed. Overall, maybe I lost my touch, my spidey sense, but Sosua totally sucks and was a waste of money as of day one!
Streets blocked off, chicks acting like Americans, way too many brothers out there spoiling the going rate, and the mentalility of the people out there suck! My take, a prostitute with rules should be deported! The girls have no understanding of good business and only think for the, "now money", not for repeat business.
Thailand is looking more interesting to me.

For those newbies who haven't seen it there is an interesting article from DR1, that may be helpful in putting the Sosua business in some context.
http://********/articles/prostitution.shtml
An excerpt:
""First and foremost, the Dominican Republic suffers from a very high poverty rate. Over 25% of the Dominican population is said to be living below the poverty line. Educational standards are very low and the majority of people living in the campo (countryside) stop attending school at a young age. The adult literacy rate is a low 87.8 percent. For most, there is little or no opportunity. Unemployment is at a staggering 17% and many, who do have jobs, work for very low pay. There is also a very high rate of teenage pregnancy and fatherless families are extremely common. It is not surprising with so little opportunity and so little hope of future opportunity that many Dominican women turn to prostitution.
How do Dominican Women go about being prostitutes?
Well, the common misconception is that the majority of Dominican prostitutes works in tourist areas and caters to tourists, when in fact this is not the case. A percentage does but the majority of Dominican prostitutes' clients are Dominican men. The men visit brothels and massage parlors that litter the country and are filled with Dominican women. Sometimes, like immediately before Christmas, you will find more girls than normal working in these establishments in an effort to earn some quick money for the holidays. They will then go back to their normal lives.
Typically, the girl who works in these tourist areas as a prostitute is in her late teens or early twenties. She may be from the surrounding area or quite frequently she may have come from another part of the country. She may have previously worked as a prostitute in one of the brothels around the country that cater to Dominican men but came to realize that she could make more money from tourists. The majority of these women have one or more children by a Dominican male but the vast majority of the time, the father has abandoned the family and his fatherly duties and the woman is left the raise the children herself. Generally, this responsibility is handed over to the prostitutes' mother. This cycle frequently repeats itself generation over generation. ".

I'm not staying at New Garden, but I walked past there on Sunday afternoon and saw at least 3 chicas lounging around the pool. Was this just a fluke, or are the on-site chica's back?

The girls you see on the street in front of the massage places don't inspire me. I can't get off being manipulated while I'm lying on my back, but the tease is OK. I do enjoy a good massage though.
I'll be heading back to paradise in a couple of weeks. My new routine a couple of days alone in Sosua, then the GF comes up to join me for the rest of the trip.
We've been all around the Island together, but I'm always drawn to Sosua. If she wants me, she'll have to make the trip.
