#2 "Safe" is a subjective term. For the past year, the government has been closing massage parlors (casas de cita) and strip clubs that provide services. (See #3) Sullivan St. (after midnight) is as safe as the "authorized cab" the Sheraton will select for you. Me, La Merced is within my safety comfort but I try to be wary there. The "safest" is probably the girl your bellhop can order up for you (get her number and post here).

Hi Everyone. Just s short report on La Merced. I am a frequent traveler to Sosua, DR and Thailand and have had most of my mongering adventures there, but I
have some business layovers in Mexico City and after reading the info on these boards wanted to check out the ladies of Merced. I traveled there on the underground metro from my hotel on Avenida Reforma and that was pretty easy. 10 pesos each way, less than a dollar US!! The station in La Merced pops out in part of the market area right next to Eje 1 where most of of the action is. I strolled up and down Eje 1 for several hours checking out the girls and I have to say they are a bit rough looking!! I was in DF in April. I found that the best way to find local escorts was by using twitter. Several listed daily specials in the range of 1500 per hour. Most listed the hotels and neighborhoods where they work. Some even had specials of 800 pesos per hour. There is also a twitter feed that lists all the love motels. For question 1, 2 please read previous posts, I don't have them on top of my mind but most likely the hotel will charge you extra fee for bringing chica in. I'm not sure if there is any freelancers owned by hotels, but I don't think so (but they could be around). Since prostitution is regulated, you might be expected to visit the "brothels". That being said, incall might be more expensive.

Not too many people speak English in DF. Don't think you can meet anyone speak English near the not so decent areas like La Merced. In Zona Rosa maybe but I doubt it. Minimum requirement is know how to ask how much and how to say all these numbers in Spanish, like 300, 1000, etc.
