Thanks. It worked just fine up until #6, but "Or create with classic My Maps" did not show up under "CREATE MAP", so there was nothing to click. When I clicked "CREATE MAP", I was directed to New My Maps again. Therefore I couldn't import any file. Thanks for your effort, but it seems as if returning to Classic Maps may indeed not be possible.

The new mapping system is useless for me. How can I post a link to a website when I can't even copy & paste anything into the info for an event? Put everything in manually every time right from the start? Then I would need 26-hour-days.

Even if it was possible to completely return to Classic Maps, I think the same problem will appear in a few months when Google will upgrade all maps to the New My Maps system.

So I will need another useful mapping system which works just like the old Classic Google Maps. And than I would have to start from scratch again. I'm not sure if I'm inclined to do this.

So you know what might be expected, but as Tiger Genius already pointed out: In Nuremberg it will not be AO, because of some ridiculous Bavarian legislation..

Thanks SwingerLover. I don't know what to do now. I choose this location because I will be in Paris and the club is easy access from the airport; Actually I can walk until the plane. I already booked the flight.

Now what worries me is that even BJ will be covered and if there is no bukkake, I don't see the point.

I think I might have an answer for you. I've tested it and it "seems" to work with a small data set; it remains to see if it will work with lots of data and information.

1. Open the AO-Calendar in Google Maps.

2. Click on the folder icon on the left and select export to KML; save the resultant file.

3. Surf to maps. google.com.

4. Click on the little question mark in the bottom right and select "Return to Classic Google Maps".

5. Click on My Places.

6. Under Create Map in small font is "Or create with classic My Maps"; click.

7. Click Import and select the file you just downloaded.

Say it ain't so, Swingerlover! I haven't been able to make much use of the maps at the moment (being on the other side of the globe) but I have to say that a lot of people are appreciative of the tons of work you've done to maintain these maps on a monthly basis.

I hope you consider carrying on if we find another means (I for one will do some research and see if there a roll-back method).

Google has implemented a new "My Maps" system, to which I immediately upgraded the maps, because I couldn't add on any new places via Classic Google maps. Big mistake! The map appears as you can see it now. Not all data has been converted properly, especially the marker colours are mostly wrong now and I don't know how to change them back. URLs containing German umlauts don't work anymore. The whole layout has become chaotic. When trying to update an event, copy & paste isn't possible anymore. Worst of all: The list at the left side of the map now shows only part of the title for each marker. The most important part for the Calendar maps was always that you could see the date & time right away, as well as most of the relevant info for the event. All that is now not visible anymore in the list. It's totally impractical to run a Calendar map like that; updating the map will take at least twice as long as before and I have to sleep sometimes. This whole new "My Maps" system is total crap for my purposes! Doing the Calendar map this way is unworkable. So there will be no more maps and no more update on the SEP-map. If I had imagined something like this, I would have kept Classic Google maps for as long as possible, but now there's no turning back.

So unless anybody has any useful ideas to restore Classic Google maps or knows another useful mapping system, please advise. Because as it is now, the days of Google Maps are over for me. I don't know what I'm going to do. Maybe return to plain Calendar lists like I used to do them 2 years ago, maybe stop posting at all. I already invested a lot of time into the maps as it was, and I liked doing it. But I'm not willing to invest even more time because of a stupid new mapping system, which then will be less useful than before, especially since the updating process became less enjoyable than cleaning the waste pipes on my bathroom sink.

The most important part of the map was the left-side list where most of the info showed up immediately. That most important part is gone now, and I couldn't give a shit about the new crap with which Google "improved" the maps now.

With the current line-up like it is right now (Andrea, Gabi, Sarah, plus Natalie & rubber-Gina; the latter two I don't know) it should be the best chance to get a good AO-party in the area for only 50 €. Andrea (formerly Isabella from Krefeld) and Gabi & Sarah are always good for great parties, even though Sarah & Gabi (then called Patricia) weren't at their best at the party at Lindenstraße in Mönchengladbach a couple of weeks ago, because the location dampened the mood so much. (I reported about this in the Mönchengladbach Bareback AO Parties thread.) But I have partyed with all 3 of them and always had a good time. The guy who told me that Sarah & Gabi were back there also said that their parties are quite good at the moment. That could however change very quickly if the line-up should change again.
