As one who was there, I can also report that what was "seen" is all just pure speculation. There was a lot of booze flowing and girls were laughing really hard, and tears and running eye makeup could easily have been caused by that. Since none of us were at the table, the scenarios can go on and on and on. Things in Ukraine were not going to plan. Elvis was sighted in the parking lot (again). Currency futures were tanking. I stand by my observational approach. As has been noted anybody attending the evening would have seen what I saw. I reported it as such. I don't think that his report encroached on any rules of courtesy in regards to privacy. He reported on what anyone who was physically there could have seen. Its like saying I saw Jane throwing up at that party on Saturday night. Gossip, but not anything that crosses a line.

Now if it was something said or done in confidence, or in private, that would have been another matter. If a girl had said she had needed an abortion a month ago, for example, and that was repeated, that would obviously cross a line of privacy and decency.

I booked my weekend trip some months ago, not realising that it would coincide with the Birthday Party, having not been to such an event before, I was looking forward to it.
