Been here for a few days and have to say either my mongering skills are going downhill or the Sosua chica union is getting to be too formidable for me to deal with anymore. I've never been one to advocate the "wifeing up" procedure but I'm getting to think that might be the answer to the consistently crappy rushed service I'm getting from these ladies. Perhaps finding one you are compatible with and sticking with her is the way to go. I've had several days to sample (pics to follow in a few days when I'm out of the country) several chicas and invariably they are promising more than they deliver, don't want to kiss, very little in any GFE, sometimes reluctant to let me DATY and in general a rushed and very businesslike pain in the ass. I understand that these ladies are not professional courtesans and yes, they are human beings, too. I always try to treat them well and with respect but I've been comparing notes with other mongers here and seem to get a lot of the same story. But Medellin is a horse of a different color. Now I will say that both me and my wingman speak Spanish which could make adventures more fun than trying to figure out what a chica is telling you or how to get your message across to her.

Mr. E I concur with your take on Colombia and Medellin, however I found Cali to be somewhat similar to Medellin but on a smaller scale and did have a good time there. And yes, for a monger with no Spanish skills, it can be difficult. Especially dealing with the Chicas in the Avenida De La Grief area of Medellin.

Two different types of venue.) Of course you are not going to Miami if you want to snow ski. To sum up Medellin: If you want to fuck top notch chicks short time at bargain basement prices with no muss, no fuss, and service with a smile then come here. The women will let you know that they are all about the money, but they fucking do their job to a T and don't try to cut corners like women in other destinations. If you are craving for a steak dinner don't come here; go to Argentina.

Like any pro, he has a wide range of tools at his disposal, experience, language and a good radar for trouble.

My only issue with him has been in the past that he makes it look too easy (especially confrontations with with cops and bad putas) and a less experienced monger could find trouble trying to roll like him.

Yes me too. I think about half the girls at the mansion did it without me even asking.

The only people that mention DR and Medellin in the same sentence are folks who come on the DR thread to tell us why we shouldn't go to DR, and instead should go to Colombia.

I've never been to Medellin (or Colombia, for that matter), but I'll keep an open mind. Intrigued, I read up on the Medellin thread. Here's a sample of what I'm seeing:

The food is good, the shopping is nice. What would you do if you visited San Francisco? Take the cable cars and enjoy the views. Ride the metro train. There is a paint ball place in the hills above Poblado. See a movie. Enjoy the food (the vegetables, grown in that rich, volcanic soil are incredible - not that near-hydroponic shredded cardboard stuff you buy back home.) Get your shoes shined. Eat in the local holes-in-wall. Get some tailoring done. But mostly, walk around and smell the fresh mountain air, watch the locals go about doing their daily routines, take a spanish speaking buddy and ride the buses and taxis. Get a map and explore. (for safety's sake remember the old adage "Nothing good happens after xx O'clock, so get back home before things get dangerous.) Hit the gym in the mall and enjoy the eye candy. It's a vacation. Rest and recreation. Get a manicure and pedicure. Get a haircut and a massage. Recharge before you go back to the grind.

Hmm. "go watch a movie" constitute as a vacation activity in Medellin. I will never take the beach in Sosua for granted again! And staying inside and bolting the door shut after dark? Never had to do that in the DR either. "getting your shoes shined"? in Sosua we kick the shoe-shine kids in the nuts so they'd stay away. However, I can venture a guess though that the food in Colombia is probably much better than DR.

So there you go. Words coming from the Medellin vets. I'm not saying the reviews are all negative on Medellin, or these posts are representative. BUT, these posts are from only the last 10 days(!) Am I pro-DR or Anti-Colombia? I'm just neutral. I'll try everything. I've been honest in my DR trip reports, I told of my failures, frustrations, and stuff I didn't like about DR. Should I visit Colombia I'll do the same.
