I was just there with my three (3) wingmen. We found a private condo 4 block walk from the Cocal on a quiet side street just up from the Taco Bar restaurant. We paid $800 for 3 nights split 4 ways at $200 each or $67 per night. Totally walled in compound split condo with two (2) kitchens and 6 baths. Each room has it's own shitter. Small pool, more like a jacuzzi. Totally guest friendly. Two of the bedrooms are out in the patio / pool area at ground level and the other 2 are on the 2nd floor above each kitchen. Those rooms each had a large walk-in closet with wooden shelving. A / see everywhere and ceiling fans. The place had a rooftop terrace with a decent view of the area. Great place to smoke a cigar or get a blowjob. Of note: La Amistad Hotel in SJO offered us free round trip van transpo to Jaco for guests staying with them upon return. Can't beat that. They even did a load of laundry free while I was gone and it was waiting in my room upon return. We pulled from the Cocal, naturally, and I offered my tall Nica only $80 which she accepted. Tipped her a $20 since the service was good. The Monaco to me is the best value in Jaco. I put my guys in there for $151.00 a eo night for a huge 1600 sq. Ft. 3 bedroom condo. You do have to have a OLD VIP discount card to get this rate and I have to handle the bookings. They do charge a chica fee of $10 but it is still the best value and central location in Jaco.

I will be in Jaco the 8th to the 12th of January and am finding that the usual spots are full.

If I get pushed out to Los Suenos any thoughts on how hard it is to get a cab to and from there and downtown Jaco?

Jaco is full to the max and there's a 95% chance you will not be getting a room and may wind up sleeping on the beach. Plenty of rooms in San Jose but it's real slow. When you go to Jaco, book in advance and stay a few days. Thurs-Saturday nights are the best at the Cocal, not to mention that I get 15-50% off for my guys who are O. L. D. VIP card holders.
