Yesterday I passed by more than 2 dozens of prives at Av Treze de Maio 33 and 47 and a few on Av Presidente Vargas. The elevators at No 33 can be confusing. I prefer taking the elevator to the top floor and work my way down using the stairs.

I am visiting Rio for the first time for mongering and Carnival. It is going to be crazy touristy crowded, but how is it for the thermas? And availabilities of girls.

I have not been in Rio during Carnaval but have been in Brazil during Carnaval and went to see the parade with a female friend in her city.

Frankly, I did not find it met expectations. More than a few Brazilians have told me they don't attend the parades. The wealthier leave town for smaller cities with no festivities. I found the biggest problem to be alcohol and drunkenness. LOTS of men get very drunk and interfere with spectators and the floats. They try to dance with female spectators and sometimes pick fights with any men the women are with. They also get into the parade route and often cause delays as the parade tries to continue. The second biggest problem is crime. While I personally didn't see any, there are HUGE opportunities for pickpockets and purse snatcher. The purse snatchers carry blades with which they cut the purse straps. Few women carry purses when at street level as a result.

In the city I was in, the mongering dried up. I suspect there many private Carnaval parties for which the GDPs are hired to perform. No one has confirmed this.

I recommend going once to see what the fuss is about. I don't see the benefit of going a second time.
