I've probably been guilty of overpaying or not bargaining but yes it's getting ridiculous. In the states I can get an hour for about $200. The only advantage here is that you have 100's if not 1000's to pick from. The quality isn't assured in either location. Hit or miss at best. The times are changing around us. Asians from the more westernized countries like Japan and Korea throw money around like it's nothing. But I don't think they monger for the same reasons we do. You can still get laid reasonably in Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Myanmar, and maybe Laos. I hear China is still relatively reasonable but a pain in the ass. It happened in Rio, is happening in Columbia and Costa Rica. So why fly 20 plus hours? I often ask myself. Probably because it's cold as hell back home. I like the culture and the vibe of Asia. I like to wonder.

Does not include your drinks either. I would say by the time a punter has a few and takes a gal he is looking at 125- 150 USD for ST.

Its just gotten ridiculous and if you are every in Nana drinking near one of the ST hotels you can clock the STs. When we were there the average "couple" spent less than 30 min in the ST room. And of course that includes 2 showers. So you are talking about less than 10 min of action. I really am amazed that some gals have them lining up to spend this.

LA Guy 5 (and I'm an LA Guy, too) you hit the nail on the head about advance payment. If a venue requires advance payment, I think it is ok to pay in advance for a short-time. LT is another story. These girls get jerked around by their customers and I understand the need for advance payment. I will pay in advance if that is the custom. I suspect the overwhelming majority of ISGers would never pay upfront. Up to them.

Your statement about the hotel customer service being first class is also confusing to me. Didn't they say you weren't entitled to a refund because you booked under a promotion and the promotion didn't allow a refund? I would think that if you had to complain to get a refund, their customer service can't be that great.

If the promotion terms include a no refund policy, then you're not entitled to a refund. Threatening them in order to get them to reverse their policy just for you is really classless.

I read the terms and conditions page that was right above where I clicked on "Book now. " There was nothing in the terms and conditions that said I couldn't cancel, or wasn't refundable. I only learned this after trying to cancel my reservation.

The hotel has now updated their terms and conditions page to say that conditions do apply for a refund. You are welcome.

So for everyone so quick to call me classless and even worse, I say since money and principal mean nothing to you, go to Baccarra and spend your 3,000 baht for 45 minutes of fame. Or Nataree where you can get a nice romantic condom blowjob for 2,700.

Just trying to save you all some money: Visited Thigh Bar in Patpong, One dancer worthy of a bar fine. After wasting money on a ladydrink and tip, the mamasan insisted that barfine and money for services would be paid up-front before we head to my hotel. Um, that's not going to happen!

Dancer lost out on thousands of baht. Since they would not be reasonable, I left. Don't see much need for any of us to return to Thigh.

This does get a bit tricky. A couple of years ago I visited a go-go in Patpong called Pussy Galore (if I recall correctly); it was one of my only Patpong outings. There was a bargirl I wanted but like your experience payment had to be made to the Mama-san in advance, which seemed to be the standard procedure for that establishment given the pricing for a session was on the bar's menu. I decided to go ahead anyway, and ended up with a truly great session, which included cumming twice during a short-time session.

I generally do not like paying in advance, and I know many believe one then loses leverage and this will encourage a bad session. But I wonder whether as a general matter paying in advance versus at the end of a session matters as much as many think, particularly if payment in advance is the norm at a particular establishment.
