Tonight I figured I'd visit Sky Garden, where all the freelancers are rumored to be. But they wanted 150,000 just to go in (including two beers, like a 50,000 value). I didn't want to pay 150,00 just to have the opportunity to potentially negotiate with a FL, so I decided to visit some of the other clubs. Paddy's Pub did have a few FL standing near the bar, but nothing to get too excited about. The bar with the fire dancer outside didn't have any FL whatsoever. I didn't go in Engine Room, but it looked to be full of Aussie kids.

Wandering down Legian Street, I stumbled into a place where some FL were sitting on motorbikes, but again, nothing to be excited about. One that was kind of attractive asked 500,000 for a "massage complete. " I turned her down and went into a relatively quiet bar across the street. Later two Chinese guys accompanied her into the bar and they disappeared into the back. Later I saw her at Paddy's Pub. She was probably the most attractive FL I saw. The most attractive of all were the Asian tourist girls.

Kuta puts me in a bad mood with all the sketchy guys whispering "transport, marijuana, mushrooms, cocaine, lady. " I refuse to use them to procure a lady for me. I just stare straight ahead walking down the street, trying my best to avoid them. But that puts me in a bad mindset for looking for FL. Maybe tomorrow, my last night in this horrible place, I'll bite the bullet and pay to go in Sky Garden. Or maybe I'll drive around Sanur. Whoever made the Bali Monger Map deserves an award.

Came with two drinks, (got two Smirnoff Ice). Went in at 1 am. So this is supposed to be prime time. There were a group of maybe 8 fuck toys hanging out in a cluster at one bar. There may have been a few other her and there. I had no plan be, and actually started talking to a security guard. At around 3 am as the place is closing, he spots me getting ready to leave and points to a nice looking 30 something in white mini skirt, heels and big rack. OK face. She is sitting by herself on a bench seat, looks pretty drunk. She is. She agrees to go with me, 900000. She was moody as hell, but provided a first class drunken fuck. Left at 6 am. I'm in my 60's and reasonably good shape. I have decided to stay in Sanur and it looks like a new place called Nesa Sanur is where I'll book.

For clubbing it looks like Jenga and Mint are at the high end and Skygarden might be the sweet spot for choice as it is a big complex with multiple bars. I pretty much want to go home by 12 or 1 am so maybe this is not for me.

I have a Thai license though but no international license so I guess I should rule that out or be prepared to pay regular fines.

The clubs you mentioned are in Kuta / Legian / Seminyak and you will be best going by cab. It's 20 minutes and 10 bucks on a good night. From what I have read here they barely get going by midnight!! I suggest sticking to Sanur. There are quite a few spots to check out but a lot less freelancers than those clubs. You will be better off renting a scooter around Sanur for sure. Be prepared for the odd 5 or 10 dollar fine (mostly outside of Sanur). To be honest. It's hard to beat having a session at a fishbowl and then a pleasant evening at a bar / restaurant with some live music, cold beer and good company. Most expats are pretty friendly as long as you don't knock their beer over! I have rarely seen any FL's early in an evening and often none even later in the evening. If unlucky you should still be able to find some action at midnight at the fishbowls. Most places close around midnight-1 am. By scooter you can cruise the 4 km strip and stop at anywhere that looks lively.

You might check out backpage.com for a handful of working girls although I have never tried it. Bali is different from Thailand. But. It can still be a hell of a lot of fun.

The Hyatt Sanur has been out of action for well over 2 years.

The original idea was to renovate but over the last 6 months they have demolished all the main buildings but kept the grounds and gardens in tact.

It is at least 3-4 years away from being a operating hotel again.

There are options The Fairmont but pricey The Taksu although rated as 3 star is only 18 months old and good value.

Most hotels in Bali are running at around 30% occupancy rate so most are keen to deals.

Given the recent mentions of the Hyatt Sanur, I feel I should point out that the hotel has been closed to guests for over a year now for major renovations. It was supposed to close for 18 months but its still going to be a long way off.

The work appears to be progressing at an extraordinary slow pace.

If 5 star is your choice maybe try the Fairmont (formerly the Regent), just down the road, and on the northern side of the Hyatt a very interesting looking place, the Maya has recently opened, so options abound.

I agree with Freezone's recommendation, the Hyatt in Sanur is 5-star and family friendly, and it's a short walk to the On-On Bar and the various X-houses discussed here. I stayed at the Hyatt in 2008 when I wrote the long post that I recently re-posted (see below).

I remember that post, MS; one of the best till then and about a year before I made the first map.

The walk-in price is still 200 k (or rather: it is now 200 k as it was 150 k at that time).

67 X is still active at the bottom of the Circle K lane: you pass the fish bowls 18 an 66 X on the way down.

29 (note: without any X, thus it is not an X-house) is still gong strong: good round-up from 8. 30 - 9 pm and onwards.

101 X has closed down.

Dian Ayu no longer has any girls hanging around, but you can BYO and have a room for 80 k / hour.

As my name implies, I'm based in Thailand and quite experienced there. That forum seems to be in "been there and done that mode" for most members so I'm not so active on it now. Bali is on my list and I'll arrive in the next 10 days or so. I have been to Jakarta twice but never Bali. I researched extensively and was nearly swayed to do Jakarta again by Psychman's great report in ROD. However I am staying on course for Bali because of Barri's unbeatable monger map and all the details that you post here that support the map. I salute you. I expect this will be a balancing act between over planning and what's been described as "a steep learning curve". I'll list key points that I've gathered and PLEASE comment as you see fit. I'll also ask for some clarification here and there.

Several smaller bars are listed on the map too. In Thailand I like to play pool and find talent in those venues. The only place I could find mentioned that might offer both is the On On Bar. I did find other places for pool outside of this forum but they don't seem like bars. Like Papa Joe's Pizza and Billiards for example. I read of guys turning down the pimps on the street. Are they just unecessary? Do not have good stock? I went that route in Jakarta years ago. The old lady brought me to a brothel. My pick was not a good experience and did a runner from my room.

Fishbowls. There are many (see the MAP!) and I understand it's all about handing over 200 k without discussion and walking if that's not enough. Then a tip to the girl if she deserves it.

Massage. I lean towards the oily scene when in BKK, which you probably know is known for more PSE. I'm not into 3 holes but a good DATY and AR can get me going. Is that hard to find or common enough? With those young girls probably not so much I'm guessing. (TIP. I found a couple of animes of AR on the internet and loaded them into my phone. Makes it very clear with no misunderstanding) Prices seem to be all over the place. Many start at 250 for what I assume is no happy ending and best case is about 500 k with he. Is that right? Taxis are straight up with meters and all or more mafia style like in Phuket and much of BKK?

Toys. I had some porn confiscated at the airport in Jakarta some years ago. In my CHECKED luggage. I'd like to bring some toys with me but do not want problems.
