Never seen the famous cockroaches. Rooms are not made yesterday but I wouldn't rate it worn out.
As for the people stating at you, do the walk of fame as the shame is their.
Might be that not all clients knew that MG is a few steps from the infamous NEP. If you arrive through Soi 2 you would not deter whee you are unless you know.
True there has been an increase, as in the whole area, of ME visitors.

Yes it's still okay for the money. Preferred by subcontinent families on tour. There was no one in the lobby when I returned twice with a girl. Therefore no I the check. Also no check when entering the parking late at night. One of my FL drove me in her car. This lack of checking might not be a good thing.

Is getting old and a bit worn out. It is perfect as a 3 star USD 55 property. However my recent stay was a bit disappointing as the place was packed to the rafters with budget travelers from Middle East and the subcontinent and also single white women who keep staring when you return with a girl. I don't understand why they decide to live in a red light area if they don't approve of the activities. The rooms are cockroach infested. Yes, you have been warned. Staff are professional when checking in working girls said one of my companions when she arrived unaccompanied.

Just a quick note.
Shama Suites Soi 2/4 Sukhumvit. Rented a 2 bedroom apartment, a bit expensive, but perfect. Absolutely girl friendly. And close proximity to the action. Would definitely recommend this place.
All the best.

I was a Soi 11 guy for the past 10 years, but it's lost its charm for me. If you love the hustle and bustle of night life, Soi 11 is great. But, it's become a bit too crowded for me. I always stayed at the following hotels and recommend all three:
1) Grand President. Pros: great location, girl friendly, decent weight room, nice staff, discount at The Old German Beerhouse, liked the royal suite with a separate living room area, loved listening to the birds in the Ambassador, they never mess with you and I have had some crazy parties in my room, the price is excellent, good breakfast.
Cons: Elevators are painfully slow; the rooms are old and need refurbishing, the staff was better in the past IMHO, the elevators are painfully slow;.
2) President Solitaire: Pros: Girl friendly, there is a Jacuzzi tub but it's overrated, the location is quiet, staff has always been good, pool is good, elevator is fast, interesting neighborhood, very quiet.
Cons: Far up the Soi, the gym is poor, breakfasts are not as elaborate as Grand President, the rooms (suites) have an odd layout;.
3) Frazer Suites:
Pros: great rooms and bathrooms are outstanding, good staff, Above 11; girl friendly but I have sometimes brought 3 ladies with me and say "one is my wife, the other her sister, the other her cousin" and they let me pass. Great management; super fast elevators, I mean they zoom!
Cons: Q Bar can keep you awake; long hike up Soi 11, more expensive than the prior two hotels. Breakfast is average, Grand President is the best; WiFi is spotty.

Or go past Soi 11 on Suk and enter the sub Soi from the main road.
Otherwise great location and guest friendly.

Posts: 9Different Hotel for me. Girl friendly?
I have stayed multiple times at Majestic, Grand President, Royal Asia Lodge, etc. But have some good prices for two hotels that both have pools and fitness centers, but don't know if they are visitor friendly. Anyone with experience at the Nanatai Suites or SM Grand Residence on Soi 4?
