Kinnaree Place has to be one of the most outstanding places I have seen in Thailand in my years here. The place is posh, beers are 90 Baht, BF and ST room is 350 Baht, and the all the gals are 1 k ST on premises. And there are some real lookers there. Even my jaded ass was stunned. When you compare it to BKK it is quality, fun, and value. The prices are what they should be. Also went to Passion in Jomtien which was also great. Most of the G-Clubs open at 1 pm and close at 10 pm. Soi 6 is also in good form with gals quite desperate for customers.

I like hearing this! I will be back visiting Pat for 8 days in just a little while before I unpack my bags and hang out in BKK for 3 weeks. The last time i went to Pattaya was over two years ago. I will only go to Pat in the low season. I hate it when the place gets overrun with tourists.


On BKK vs Pat: the OP said it himself, paraphrasing, "BKK has afternoons in the massage, and evenings looking around the go go's," not to mention all the cultural stuff and great restaurants that BKK provides. Aside from a few G-Clubs Goatscrot mentioned, Pat does not really get started until 5 or 6 pm when it is time to pay a visit to Soi 6 and see what's going on. Then later it is Go Go time until the discos and clubs get busy. I usually do nothing most of the day in Pat besides walking beach road (exercise, 555), eat, and hangout at my hotel swimming pool. That is the major reason why I generally prefer the big mango and all it has to offer over the naughty resort town, but I can't wait to check out both places in the not too distant future! Another plus for me in the BKK column is that I know far more girls in BKK than I do in Pat, although I concede that is the result of the disproportionate amount of time I spend in BKK vrs. Pattaya.

The past few years I'm always spending some time in BKK and the city grown on me, with afternoons in the massage, and evenings playing pool and looking around at the gogos.

Last time in Pattaya prices were nearly the same like BKK, but a lot more choice in Pattaya still and it could not really appeal me no more. Now I have about 4 or 5 days coming and I cannot decide where to head to.

Why do you guys choose one over the other?

Really good question. I have lived in BKK for 16 years and used to be a regular visitor (once a month) to Pattaya up until about 8 years ago. About that time I found it a bit tedious and the value for money started to go a bit downhill.

Last weekend I made my first trip down solo in years. Have to say I love the new G-Club establishments. Kinnaree Place has to be one of the most outstanding places I have seen in Thailand in my years here. However, the GoGo and disco scene were not to my liking. GoGos gals were wanting as much as their sisters in BKK and the discos were full of young dudes mainly from the Middle east and Africa. Found Walking St gals to be less than enthusiastic as well. You no longer hear, "where you go" every 10 meters. In fact, you have to do the asking.

Pattaya is pretty empty now as well. Reminds me of the low seasons when I first came back in the early '00's.
Unless you are into the oily scene (which is my genre of choice in BKK), I would say Pattaya is the better place for a P4P vacation. BKK just gets worse and worse and more expensive.

The days of freelancers on Craigs list are over now. There is a group of foreign pimps who have taken over. They take half the girls money for answering the ads and booking appointments. 90% of the emails you send will be read and replied to by this guy from Holland. The ads are quite good because they are cleverly written in Thinglish. I have had some luck recently with one of these girls but I mostly will place an ad. If I get lucky I will get a reply from a newbie freelancer looking for a few extra baht. This has happened a few times and the girls were all incredible. You must be persistent with your ads by reposting and weeding through the working girl or ladyboy replies. CL is the most hit and miss, plus dangerous option, so for the newbies I would not suggest using it.

Just a heads up guys. 90% of the girls on CL are being pimped out by a guy from Holland and his Thai wife. They take half the girls money for organizing the date with the customer. Most of the girls are very high mileage and are not worth it. On the other hand I had a decent experience wit this one last night. 4 K from 8 PM-4 AM multiple shots and decent massage. Has anyone come across any good taxi company or driver for hiring taxi all day for local travel in Bangkok?

I also want to travel outside for all day excursion to Kanchanaburi etc. So wondering if any one has any tips for me to find a reliable English speaking driver.

I used Thai Happy Taxi to / from BKK-Pattaya last year and they were excellent. Payments made in advance through Paypal. Both drivers were early, and when leaving Pattaya at 3 am for BKK we somehow made it in just under 1 hour. Whoever answers the emails is good with English. Sedans were blacked out Toyota Avalon I think. Probably will use them at 800 baht from BKK to my hotel in Sukhumvit when I visit next month.

My question is if / when they will start on some really soft targets. How about Baccara on a Saturday night? Or any other crowded bar anywhere? In a confined space there will be even more carnage. And, IMHO, the damage to nightlife in general would be incalculable.

I have been to Soprano House in BKK and like the vibe. I never tried to take a girl from there though. Can you find women willing to play for pay at these places or is that not realistic. Also, what are the better Gentlemen's Clubs in BKK. I will be back in BKK in October.

I would suggest to all not to stay too close to any big shopping areas or major intersections. Of course your probability of being unlucky is very low but consider inconvenience of road closures too.

I like to be close to Asoke Sukhumvit intersection but not too close. In a minor Soi is better and prefer to be on the Phrom Phong side of Asoke if possible.

Again I must agree. To the best area is Phrom Phong, soi 18 to 24. Quiet but very close to any action.

This bombing was on one corner of one intersection that affected people in the immediate vicinity at 6:55 pm on a random night in a huge city. Walk past at 6:54 pm you avoid it. If you were due to walk past at 6:56 pm you would have avoided it. Altering behavior because of this is an overreaction. 80 people die everyday on Thai roads. I am happy to take my chances on the roads.

I was staying at the Nana Hotel and left yesterday morning and am in Pattya, heard about the bomb last night while watching TV.

Can anyone one report as to how the bomb affected the immediate area around the Nana Hotel parking lot last night and today?

I hope The Thai's catch the infidels that did this and have just heard a second bomb went off at a pier in town.
