MANILA, Philippines A disabled American filed, on Tuesday, estafa charges against his Filipina caregiver for allegedly duping him of P915,000.

Marvin Hensel, 57, said since being hired, Leah Caparida, 33, borrowed money from him for 21 times. He said he gave her cash in 20 out of the 21 instances she asked for a loan.

In an affidavit submitted to the Manila Police District general assignment section, Hensel said he was filing 20 counts of estafa against her.

He said Caparida started borrowing money in May 2015.

She often claimed that she needed the cash for hospitalization.

Since then, almost every week, Hensel would lend Caparida money, sometimes in dollars, sometimes in peso.

On Monday afternoon, Caparida attempted to borrow P27,000 to pay her bills in a Bulacan hospital.

"I refused (to give her the money) after I confirmed with the hospital. That there is no such patient in her name," Hensel said. SFM.

Two points:

Firstly, its a shame that you did not have the numbers for the better Sabang bar girls. They will jump at the chance at a holiday at 1500-2000 PHP a day and as a repeat customer they do their best to keep you happy.

The real cute dancers get about 200 - 250 a night. So the average "monthly salary" is 4,500 - 7,500 PHP. Commissions from drinks, barfines and tips would be another 10,000 at best. So you are actually paying her a full month salary in exchange for 10 days of pussy. Ask yourself, is this a wise deal?

Sadly, as attractive, gracious, and charming as she appears to be, I think she and her three-year dogged pursuit for winning at beauty pageantry sort of epitomize the dominant cult of personality that exemplifies the Philippines. So a beautiful Filipina who is allegedly fluent in five languages--but graduated from a culinary institute In San Juan City NCR--has become expert at pleasing and complying with instructions and expectations. What she accomplished would seem to define the personal and nationalistic aspirations of many Filipinos. The internet is full of videos of exuberant reactions from Filipinos in their homes and businesses. He is still in jail. System moves awfully slow in the Phils and the courts seem to be in no rush to release him despite the retractions from the girls. I wasn't a big fan of him (though he was a great contributor to this forum) but I believe he has done more than his time and they should just release him and never let him back in the Phils. Yes they should just deport him but that is not the way the Philippines work or Filipinos think. When a Filipino has authority over a foreigner things are never going to end well for the said be foreigner. They seem to relish in the role of punishing you if you make an error that puts you at their mercy. Filipinos love to make sycophants out of their own. They are overwhelmed with glee when a foreigner is at their mercy.

Ending up in a foreign prison is always a possibility when visiting or residing in a foreign country especially with the things that can go wrong with a hobby like mongering. When I resided there I gave out fake names to the girls and foreigners I came in contact with. I tried not to give out too much information.
