Does anyone else remember that time period, maybe 2002 - 2004 when you would always see Pro US athletes in L'uomo, Monte Carlo and Centaurus? They were like the proverbial bull in a China shop. They would give you the head nod like you just think you see me here trying to fit into this robe or wearing my street clothes because no termas robe in the world is going to fit on my 6' 9" oversize frame. Who among you can honestly say that when you have been walking down Avenida Atlântica and looked down Rua Hilário de Gouvêia, noticing that nondescript awning above the building next to Hotel Oceano Copacabana Hotel with no signage whatsoever, that you were not drawn to it as if a powerful magnet were pulling you. The Olympics is about to start and there were a lot of mongers announcing they were going to Rio. It would be nice to read some reports about the monger situation in Copacabana. How is Mab's, are there many more girls in the quiosques along the Orla and maybe even at ho-beach?

What I can say is this: there are definitely more people on the streets of Copa during the day and in certain parts at night. But it's not yet (Friday 5th) nearly as crowded as I thought. And I see mainly 2 types of tourists: backpackers (who don't have money to hobby) and older / families. So I'm not sure how much benefit there will be.

I've had 3 girls come to see me at my apartment from pretty far away (Zona Norte, bem afastado) - some of whom are taking 2 hrs to get here and braving Olympic traffic. So I have a sense that it's not raining money (or they'd go somewhere closer).

To be fair I haven't entered a Zona Sul terma lately. I'll connect over the weekend with some Centro Tier-2 terma girls and try to get a read on how centro is. I know that many of the privees closed on Thursday / Friday since it was a declared holiday by the Mayor, and most people didn't go to work. No workers in Centro = no clientes for the privees. Despite what you may think, gringos are the minority. My friend who works in one said she was the only girl who showed up to work on Weds as things already had slowed down.

I would not expect too many mongers during the Olympics as everything is triple the price, From Airfare to Staying at Hotels, But your right any reports would be nice.

Was just there Tuesday night. Went to Mab's about mid-nightish with my regular girl. Met up with some colleagues for drinks. Fair number of girls there, ranging from 4's-8's with a couple of 9's.
