Just went there last night. Very good selection. Had 678, excellent services. There have increased the price since April, startng 998 and up. I will be in SH for the next 3 days and will hit a couple other SN.

Coming back to Shanghai in a few weeks. Is the Jing'an district still locked down? The Royal Massage was my favorite place to visit, but there were other places to go. Is the Jing'an district less windy? If not, would appreciate suggestions on other places to go for massage plus services.

If you read the forum you would know that the Sofitel is at the heart of tourist hunting territory.

If you want to get threatened and robbed then go with a tout out front or anywhere on Nanjing pedestrian street.
That is a tout or any sex or age and who might even seem charming.

You should be able to get a good massage for about 250-300 rmb for an hour. Depending on the place you might instead
get a not so good massage. You have to find one you like or read the forum.

I once went to a kind of rough looking massage place near Nanjing Lu. I went because I liked the look of one of the attendants who
I saw out side. Inside the rest of the girls were homely sisters and cousins (I guess). So I played it safe and went for the foot massage.

They charged me enough for a full body massage and had the nerve to show me an English menu with a note saying
they had to have payment in full in advance. She didn't have even the most elementary grasp of massage. At some point a 6' 3" male
entered the parlor. I don't think he was there to change the towels. What she did have a grasp of was my dink as she tried to up sell
me to the deluxe service which I declined and then left.

I just wanted to check the place out but I think I was lucky to not have more trouble there.

Thanks for the info. I had stayed in the area a few years ago and never ventured with any of the touts asking about massage. I didn't see too many places but I do remember a couple of saunas around and actually went to a couple. When I went back, they were no longer there so I thought perhaps areas had changed.

Many, many years ago I once went with a tout in Shinjuku, Japan and went upstairs to a bar with no music and one older girl. I politely declined and left and decided not to go with a tout again.

I will be back in a bit and really am more of a sauna or massage parlor person. I will probably be at the Shangri-la hotel by Judy's so if anyone can point me in the right direction, it is appreciated.

. I am beginning to wonder whether it is better to aim mainly for variety and new experiences vs developing a "relationship" with some girls who gave good services with repeat businesses.

North South, I believe the answer is both! I prefer to have small list of faves that I continue to cultivate but also get variety in between. Sometimes you want a luxury meal and sometimes you're willing to risk having a big mac (experience of the girl not the looks).

Sometimes the Big Mac you ordered turns into a new luxury meal. Then she gets added to the list!.

I have not been to shanghai in about 9 months. The first time its gone that long in 7 years. I do have a viet that I continue to talk to via whatsapp. She is more than ready to fly to shanghai and meet me when I come over. I won't be exclusive for her anymore than she will be for me. But she will be on the menu!
