It seems most of the saunas are grouped in the north (on the peninsula). Are there any notable ones on the south side (Cotai), with easier access from the 'new' Cotai strip hotels? Staying at the Venetian for a week and it would be easier to find a south side sauna than catching a cab to the north side.

I have a China trip coming up in 2 weeks starting in Beijing and ending in Hong Kong. I've been RTFF regarding Macau for some time and feel it is the type of place to check off on my bucket list. However, the recent reports show the prices to be significantly high. Additionally, I prefer the freelancer pickup type venues.
With that said, could anyone answer these questions regarding Macau:
1. For fishbowls and saunas, is there a flat entrance fee or minimum charge fee? (I read in a recent report someone had to pay 1000+ MOP when leaving after just seeing the lineup).
2. Are the prices significantly lower during weekdays? (I assume that there are less people visiting the venues during the week).
3. Are there any freelancer pickup bars or discos and what would be the expected price for those freelancers?
I would like to check off Macau on my upcoming trip, but I want to be informed of the current situation before planning to go.
Thanks in advance.

If I were you, I would plan to hit 2 or possibly 3 saunas at the most, and a good casino restaurant in between sessions, then retire back in my hotel room to get a good sleep at around 4 am. Therefore, assuming you are not arriving in Macau on a Friday or Saturday when hotel rates go through the roof, I recommend reserving a relatively inexpensive hotel room close to the Saunas. For example a room at the Rio Hotel can be had for around $94 if you look at the various travel sites. Sintra Hotel is around $90. And I have seen deals on Agoda for the Royal Hotel at $74 although the Royal is a longer walking distance from the action.
Yes, there is always the alternative of sleeping for free at FN, or another sauna, but this will curtail your freedom to go from Sauna to Sauna. The rule is: you leave the sauna, you lose your overnight privileges. So if you don't mind carrying your duffel bag around from one sauna to the next or alternatively spending all your time in only one sauna doing different girls, then go for it. Famila Nobre offers private rooms to overnight guests if they are not too busy as does East Spa at the Waldo.
PS: The saunas offer discounts of between 200 to 300 HK dollars on the 2nd and 3rd in house session so that is something that favors a one sauna sleep over plan, but I would prefer for my first visit to Macau to hit 2 or 3 different saunas in order to enjoy & compare the differences. See MichaelSamuel's post #2307 and Dreams' post #2308 for good recommendations for a 2 or 3 sauna night. I would only add that East Spa can be very good as well and you may really like that one too. So have a great time and enjoy Chinese pussy. Its pretty good.
PPS: I think the decision to take the ferry from HKG airport to Macau is a very good one. Macau is more better fun than HKG.

Depending on how fussy you are, there is no reason for you to book any hotel.
Also, assuming you'll be on your way to the airport by noon the next day, there is no reason for you to "explore" 9 Saunas. 1 Sauna or 2 tops should suffice. You can take a look at the Sauna Reviews thread where the options were just discussed earlier today, but you could easily leave your luggage at any hotel's reception (Rio for example), and head to the Sauna of your choice. Rio's open space has a full bed setting as default, in FN there is a "Sleep Room" and the reclining couches are also very comfy. You'll get as much food and drinks as which (though beers are not included).
Enjoy,
D

I'm flying into Hong Kong on my way to Thailand and have found the one flight that I want is priced a tad high. A flight from Macau the following day to Pattaya is less than half the price so I'm thinking while I'm in Hong Kong I'll ferry on over to Macau to check out the sauna's. I arrive in Hong Kong around 5 pm, figure by the time I get over to Macau it will be close to 8 pm. Flight to Pattaya departs at 2 pm the following day. So my question is should I even bother with a hotel or just lug my duffel bag (I travel light) to the sauna's I want to check out? Can I stay in a sauna overnight and be well fed and have a few beers and a bed to nap in? I'm considering renting the emperor hotel (cheapest in that area) so I can more easily walk around to the 9 sauna's in the area. Or would cutting out the hotel be an option? PM me any suggestions.

Posts: 2Went to hova couple weeks ago they were doing a HH special for 650 mop one HR one shot. Couple decent girls for the price it isn't too bad. The facility is a little small and old, but you also not going to be there for long.

Posts: 11Do these saunas take payment in MOP or HKD? I assume from RTFF they did MOP, but heard casinos only accept HKD.
