Posts: 657Choke Holds not rare on Constitucion!
I got attacked with a choke hold on a weekend walk up Constitucion in front of Hotel Riviera on the sidewalk last month. One ratero surprise attacks you and chokes off your air from behind while the other trips you then goes after your wallet. You don't see their faces. Luckily I lost only a coin purse with a few dollars because my wallet was hidden, but the area was well lit with plenty of people around and I felt safe. The attack takes less than a minute or two. I bought some "Strike Spikes. Attaches to the Back of Your Cap" on Amazon so if I get another choke hold I can jam the spikes into the Ratero's face while he has me by the neck to get free. Also recommend not walking on the sidewalk. Stay in the street where the rateros cannot jump out of an alley or door and get you by the neck.

This is my first visit to HK in the New Year. January 8th, Sunday Mid day. Ghost town. Anyway, decided to sit and have a cold one alone. Then I saw one of my past favorites from a distance. The music from "Jaws" started to come to mind. She sat down and said, "you remember me"? She then said, "I want your warm vitamins on my body" WTF! Where in the hell do these chicas get these phrases? What the hell, one fischa and I will be on my way. I sat there listening to the chica blah blah blah. She did her normal chica move, rubbing on leg then my dick. She said, "she was ready for her vitamins". I said, "maybe next time". She said, okay, okay, okay, it has been real slow, I need some money, how about a quickly? I said, what is a quicky? She called the mesero over and move us to VIP room on the second level above the main stage. What the hell, I agreed to get on this train not knowing where the stop would be and how much the ticket was. WTF! When we got up there, she said she would be back. As I was sitting there looking out over the main stage, a chica just started to dance to a vacant audience.
She returned with a small baggie. The mesero left. She pushed one of the tables in front of the door. Took her g-string off, took some lube out, rubbed it between her legs, grabbed the pole with both hands (dog style position), looked over her shoulder at me and said, this is a quicky. She then said hurry up. WTF! As I was getting going, I was watching all of the activity of the main floor and banging this chica from behind. I must say it was pretty exciting in a perverse way. I told her I was getting ready to pop, she quickly turned around and got on her knees, and look up at me and said what am I waiting for!, my finish was a partial chica facial and boobs shot. She quickly used some baby wipes out of the baggie to clean her self up and took some of the beer and poured it on the drippings on the floor. After she cleaned herself, she stood over me with her hands on her hips and said, that is a quickly, pay me! And do not be cheap! WTF!

It looked more like a weekday. Seemed like different girls and more 6's than 8's. Did a few rounds up and down looking for one I liked. Upstairs looking down I saw a 8+ that looked naked but most likely a floss thong and pasties. I went down to ask her for a go but when I went down she was gone. I decided to walk back to the front before I exited and looped the standing girls. A chica grabbed my arm and said arriba. I chuckled and asked how much. She said 80 so I did the no reply trick and she lowered to 70 but then she did a pants check and her hand brought the flag up and she said 80. I said OK how about pesos and she said 1800 (damn) and I'm sucking it (negotiation over). CBJ but she was competing with the porn TV. Then yes, cowgirl and before I knew it a knock on the door which kicked in the turbo to her dyson. Room was 350 pesos and similar to Adelitas. Girl was thick and curvy (not BBW) and most likely early to mid 20's. She mentioned it was dead because of the gas price fighting. I forgot to ask about any previous shooting but she said she hadn't been around in a while.

I personally know dozens of mongers. I walk in the areas we are talking about 40 to 50 times a year, as do most of them.
We pass around stories and information that we gather by speaking to others and reading these monger boards and travel sites. I personally know only two mongers that were victimized by chock-hold like assaults in daylight hours, inside LZ, and in both cases their monetary losses were in the $40 to $50 ranges. They both continue to walk the same areas today.
In November my son was robbed on Revo while walking alone at 5:30 AM at the Hotel Alaska mural after drinking in bars on Revo. He, and you should take taxis at night.
I don't intend to make light of the risks. They certainly exist. But neither I, nor #2041, have been mugged despite hundreds of times where we walked around outside of La Zona. If it ever happens to me, it will simply be the cost of doing business.

Often working in pairs, while other locals look the other way, your pockets are emptied by the rateros quickly, often before you gain consciousness.

Posts: 6555The newbies and local dangers
To provide accurate assessment of security risks in Tijuana, the fact is I have been going to Tijuana for over 15 years, driving and walking from and to the border to La Zona, mostly late at night. I have never been robbed, threatened, stolen, assaulted by anyone. I were stopped and searched a few times by policias but never lost anything, except recently my friend let policia rifle through his wallet and lost $120.
I used to enjoy hanging out on the Liberty Path on sunny weekends, sitting under the straw palapas on sidewalk, gawking pretty, long-legged young tourists, drinking cold $1 beers, eating 3 for $1 tacos, flirting with the young meseras. This walk used to be lively on weekends with hundreds tourists, trinket carts and cheap tacos shops: Liberty Plaza and walking path behind the border McDonalds, the bridge over the Tijuana river to the Mercado de Artesannias, the Wax Museum, El Arco, Ave Revolution, Hotel Nelson, the trinkets plaza, Calle 1, Ave. Constitucion, Bar Malquerida, Callejon Coahuila, the bar block with Hong Kong Club and hotel Cascada.
But after 2008 there were hardly any tourists. Vendors went away, stores, bars, restaurants, arts shops closed off. It's a very sad scene that lots of good, honest people lost their livelihood.
While I encourage the bros to branch out of La Zona to enjoy the cultural life of Tijuana near El Arco and Ave Revolution during the day time on weekends when there are lots of people around, encouraging newbies to walk all the way to the Wax museum just to buy Fiagras to save a few buck is a very dumb idea. The risks of being robbed and injured just far outweigh any savings. There are plenty of reputable Pharmacias at the corner of Constitucion and Calle 1 whose prices are not much higher.
While on the road anywhere in the world, have no fear, but make sure you are always on the winning side every time!

If instead you made offers, and did so only in pesos, your price ranges are too high.

The current discussion has been about leaving LZ to walk one short block east of the Arch on the pedestrian trail to Piri pharmacy and / or the Tijuana Wax Museum.
In the winter, Piri pharmacy opens up at around 9 AM and closes only one or two hours after darkness arrives. So there are plenty of daylight hours available to stop on in.

From what I have read it seems that the following is common rates for girls:
Top Tier (8-10) $60-$100 for a half hour and $100-$150 for an hour.
Doubles Top Tier (8-10) $120-$200 for a half hour and $200-$300 for an hour.
Mid Tier (6-7) $40-$60 for a half hour.
Doubles Mid Tier (6-7) $80-$120 for a half hour.
Is it common / available to pay more for CIM or COB? I didn't read a lot of review that had oral without covers and allowed CIM. I bet it like 1 in 10 maybe?
Also, are most male visitors of Hispanic descent? It doesn't seem like a lot of them are Caucasians, less than 5%.
