For a group of guys its not recommended but a solo guy, yes. You will draw attention more from the police than the girls. Plus a group will have problems with the casa situation unless one guy breaks off from the group and goes with the girl. Probably best to sightsee and just hangout. The taxis and bici guys will only see money and opportunity and will guide you to the hardcore girls who will be overprices and give rushed service.

Holguin has some pretty women and the smart guys in your group will use this vacation for logistics and a future trip. Find a casa you like, find a nice hangout spot and find the decent restaurants and you will be set for a return visit.

Man I don't see why not. Resorts are not a place to meet locals so your best bet would be to talk to some of the drivers (taxi, bicycle, motor) and they will point you and your buddies in the right direction.

One thing I strongly recommend is to be respectful of locals, people are very friendly in Cuba but like everyplace else despise the "ugly american syndrome".

And by the way, Cuba is not so safe as it looks. In Camaguey a few years ago a sex tourist was killed when refused give money.

Last year in the center of Holguin police shot a robber just in front of the crowd and in Santiago a sex tourist was thrown from the taxi and found dead on the road later.

In all my time tourists have ended up dead for one of two reasons. 1. drugs 2. Refusing to pay for services rendered (by a chica).

Back from Holguin last week and overall happy trip.

Landed Holguin in the evening and shared a taxi with another tourist for 15 CUC. I could have bring down to 10 but other guy was impatient.

Got a casa one block from central park for $20. And stayed there for all the 7 days. Owner is nice and no hassle of chica.

1st night checked the scene and went to casa de musica and sick of brokers and hookers. Came home and slept.

2nd day hiked the mountain (lama de cruze) and felt really relaxed. Came back to central. Had lunch and rested.

Evening walked around and made some friends with casa people and got lucky with one girl. She is decent. May be 7 to 8. Blanka. Took her to good restaurant (roof top) and back to casa and had two GFE sessions. In the morning gave taxi money of 20 CUC.

3rd day same routine. Hiked the mountain. Nice break fast. Rest and repeated the same girl. This time took her to BBQ party by neighbours of my casa. Had wonderful time. Got connected with girl. Back to casa. Made love. Sin condom.

If you had quoted me properly for Santiago you would have included the part where I said I went to the wrong street.

As for my 3rd night in Camaguey, that was my biggest mistake. After sending the 2nd night's girl off, we came across another girl my driver knew who he said would be willing to register and spend the night at my place. She was a 6-7, with fair skin and blond hair. We talked briefly and made some tentative plans for the following night.

The next evening (night 3) my driver picks me up around 7 pm and tells me that there is another girl who is back in town from Havana who is amazing, but that she also has Havana minded prices. I figure we can always meet her and I can walk if I am not interested. We meet up around the block from her place and she is only slightly more attractive than the blond I was introduced to the night before. She also quotes me 120 CUC for the night which I balk at. I should have just left then or insisted on the local Camaguey price which I had already been quoted at 40 CUC for the night. We finally settle on 70, and I am more than aware that I paid twice what I should have.

The 3 of us go out for drinks and she ends up being a smoker and a bit snobby. I should have just given her some cash and sent her home and regrouped. But I didn't in the hopes that she might be a freak in bed. She wasn't. It was like fucking a dead fish. She just laid there staring up at me. One of the worst fucks of my life. She also gave me my first CBJ of my life (not a positive).

The next day on the way to the bus station to catch a taxi to Havana I told my driver as much. As I was about to leave he did make a plea to me for me to give him a generous tip for the help he had given me (he asked for 50 CUC to buy a cellphone). Over the 4 days and 3 nights I paid him a total of 60 CUC plus the referrals he got from me. I thought that was pretty fair and told him I would be happy to refer others to him.
