I'll play the Devils advocate and say that it's not quite 100%. I've just arrived to Pafter a run in Bangkok and Pattaya visiting insanity and insomnia respectively several times each. Yes to suss out the area walking around does certainly have its advantages no doubt and no arguments there. However IF you're in a group and not everyone is partnered up I'll prefer to get a bottle and staying put at a table. Several reasons. Firstly I can't honestly be bothered walking around stalking my / our prey, trying to seemingly enjoy the music and walking around in a packed club isn't that fun. Then ordering drinks when you have a hot thing in your arms, dancing, smoking then paying for drinks. It's very often the wait staff will sometimes try take an extra 100 baht or so for themselves and not to mention that you'll look cheap in front of everyone if you don't tip.

Also I've found that the ladies drink less if they drink from your bottle, they do however when they pour your drinks are sometimes a little heavy handed.

Also you can often get a lounge area easily if you buy a bottle too. Each to their own if it's a chic magnet or not but we didn't have much trouble with freelancers floating around plus I was in a group of heavy drinkers so it worked out much better for us financially.

Of course staying at a table with a group of buddies is more fun than going alone (at least until you find the right chick and start making out and fondling her - 555). But (at least for me) it works better if I go find the girl that I like rather than wait for her to come to me.

Partly because I am kind of picky. I hate getting stuck with a girl I don't; like. It's much easier to bounce when you aren't' chained to a table and a bottle And partly, I guess, it's because I am impatient. As my friend Haven123 will attest to, I kind of like to grab my girls and get the hell out of there. 5555.

I've also had fun nights hanging with a girl I've already paired up with and our group of friends hanging out at the table with a few bottles. So it really depends on your mood what and you objectives.

For gogo bars, there was a noticeable influx of girls around the end of November this year. There was about a 2-3 week period where the girl numbers increased but the men hadn't arrived yet. By mid-December, most bars were crowded to the point where you couldn't even find a seat.

For many gogo bars, other than high season, you can walk in and be the only or one of a few guys with many girls around. This is especially true at the LK Metro bars or some of the ones not on Walking Street itself.

The better thing to watch is to avoid gogo bars on Japanese national holidays. Droves of Japanese men come in for the long weekend to splash a ton of cash.

I need to find a way to get there at that time of year.

For me, the problem with early January is not so much the influx of guys, but rather, that a lot of the girls who have gone home for the holidays haven't returned yet. I'm worried more about the pool of available talent than the increased competition.

You should tip the same amount as the girls do, most of them would never tip more than 40 baht. Giving more than that would make you look like a newbie in my opinion. And tipping the staff should not be automatic, it's good to tip the ones that are nice with you, but many of them are real a**holes and deserve nothing at all, especially in places like Insomnia or Mixx (Pattaya).

Normally guys are enquiring on behalf of a Thai girl who wants to run such a thing. For sure non Thai nationals cannot work without a permit. I have Thai bank accounts, but many Thai banks won't allow a Farang to open a bank account without having a work permit. For some reason Kasigorn (Thai Farmers) was an exception in the past, but probably not under the new Government rules.

I have a GF who once wanted to open a Home decoration shop in the Night bazaar located in Bang Na (Udom Suk). Buy in was quite steep (forget how much). Luckily I stopped the idea and that Night Bazaar location went bust some time later. She did not have the time available to run a business anyway.

100% true. In fact, if you are just there to hunt having a bottle works to your disadvantage as it lumits your freedom of movement and ties you down to one place. At least that has been my experience.

Its no problem at as farang to open a bank account.

Money in is good. Apply outside Pattaya Bangkok Phuket.
