Will never complain about the 2 or so roundabouts in Curacao again. Thanks for the advice ClubTed, I had a blast but I ended up getting an apartment near the airport, not the Aruba you see on postcards, but it had to do. I should have went with a chain car rental; however because I wasted 3 or so hours dealing with the car rental and my time was precious because I was only there for one day. Was surprised with the number of Americans that visit Aruba, they even have US Customs at the airport, it is the polar opposite of Curacao. My Dominican friend made things difficult for a while, because she was giving me the name of a location that wasn't on the GPS, and plus my Spanish is not that good and I'm driving in a country that I've never been before, with my phone roaming on a 1 G signal, LOL. She's Dominicana so San Nicolas is where she resides, LOL. I really needed another day because it was like "insider trading" getting this valuable "intel" from her. Like you said it all goes down from about the Citgo refinery headed back in the other direction. Wouldn't recommend walking it, but there were ladies everywhere between the streets and alleys there, especially in the daylight morning hours, which I thought was odd. I wanted to partake with some ladies other than my Dominicana, but I was stretched for time. Probably my first and last to Aruba and I Really wanted to hit up Baby Beach but I didn't have the time, is it me or is every woman in Aruba in workout clothes "trying to get in shape", and there are scores of these "get in shape girls" everywhere. If I had it all over again I definitely would stay longer than a day; nonetheless.

Check AirBnB. I rented a place in Seroa Colorado. Not sure if they have a minimum stay requirement. Basically a one room apartment from a local older couple. Kind of hard to find though. You're best bet if you're looking for something to do is go over and hang out at Baby Beach. If you're only staying for a day, use your car as home base. Keep your belongings hidden, and just pull an all nighter. I've done that a few times. There's a ballfield near downtown that has a safe, well lit parking lot, that I've crashed in the car for a couple of hours before heading to the airport to catch my flight the next day. It's also a minibus pickup spot so there's activity starting around 4 am For workers living in the area heading up to work in the hotel district. San Nicolas is sort of sketchy, but I've walked around at night with no problems. Just look out for the occasional druggie / crackhead. Most of the cruising happens by car. There's only a few streets with any action. Try to park on the main one way street, up toward the refinery entrance, at night, if you decide to do some walking. I'm' sure after one day, you will have had your fill. Let us know your experience, since this thread has been somewhat dormant as of late.

Going to be in Curacao, so I'm taking a 1 day trip to Aruba, to see a chica that I know. Trying to stray away from the touristy areas, so I'm looking for a room near San Nicolas. I'm renting a car, so any advice on what to do when I'm not sticking it to this chica.

Posts: 4SXM is the airport code for Saint Martin (Dutch side) and therefore abbreviated as such. As for chicas in resorts and casinos, not very common (less so in resorts), but if found generally from Venezuela, more expensive ($100/ HR) and not controlled (medically a. O.).

Thanks for the info. Can anybody tell me what SXM stands for? Also, are there chicas at the resorts and casinos?

Located on Palm Beach between the Marriotts Surf Club and the Holiday Inn. Sunday the bar is packed. You can't move. Friday they have a band and action is good. Thur and Sat a DJ just OK. Other nights dead. I haven't taken any out as my family is in the room. I go to St Nicholas. Read my posts.

Sunday nights are busy at the Moomba Bar in Palm Beach. You will find girls working there, $100, take them back to your room.

Finally will be returning to the happy island after a long absence. How is San Nicolas right now? I read the recent reports and I can see what you guys mean. It can be hit or miss but I enjoy the nightlife scene. I will be reporting live in a couple of weeks.
