I used Airbnb and got a place for $420 for the 12 nights.

Base is smallish but very nice building and view. Never stayed there myself. But a friend of mine used to rent there monthly.

Nice pool but always crowded with famies. So my friend says.

How much did you pay to stay 12 days. I may give it a go. I usually stay at City Garden but I may fancy a change.

Ok I have booked my second Thailand trip for three weeks in Nov. I know it is a long way away but all fixed cost are paid already. Airfare done, Hotel / condo for Pattaya and Bangkok done. I learned a lesson from my first trip last year So I will be staying in Pattaya for twelve nights and Bangkok for only four nights at the end for access to the airport on departure. I have 12 nights at The Base, a one bedroom condo and four nights" full on Old man monger" at the world renowned Nana Hotel. I just wanted to know if any of you guys have rented at The Base in Pattaya how it was, I did not spend any time at Soi Bakoue (sic) and LK Metro so that is tops on my list this trip. Also who do you guys use for taxi from swampy to Patts. I will just pre book and get that done also. Boy am I suffering Pattaya Withdraw since I got back.

I have never stayed at The Base, but I happen to be in front of it right now. All of my friends say it is pretty small for the price if you are a buyer, but since you are only staying a few days it should be perfect with it being brand new and all.

As for taxi, just go up to the 4th floor and outside and get one. They will say 1500 first, but tell them 900. Don't pay more than 1200.

The Big plus with GOGOs is the lack of clothing, The Thai ladys seem to be experts in making small A cups into Big be's with the help of bras and some padding, kind of hard to do in the GOGOs also baby damage is also revealed.

Yes this phrase really doesn't have much meaning. Even in the cream of the crop Gogos with the hottest girls: Baccara, Sensations, What's Up?, at least 30% of the girls (and oftentimes more) I am not attracted to, or at least would not pay top dollar to go with.

I think BB is spot on when he says 3-5% of the gogo girls overall are hot, though I know we'd probably disagree on who wound make that 3-5% as our tastes do differ a bit. 555.

Hi,

I've been a long time lurker and reader of this forum and really enjoy all the reports and knowledge everyone has shared. Next week, I'll excited to be making my very first ever trip to Thailand to visit Pattaya. I don't know what to expect, but I do have a checklist of things I want to experience; namely the gogo bars, beer bars, nightclub, soapy massage, and maybe a 2 girl experience or Russian girl if the right opportunity arises.

I'm very excited, but I'm also scared and intimidated as it'll be my first time there. I'm sure I can manage on my own. However, if there are any vets or fellow travelers here that want to meet up for one night, I'the gladly accept the offer. I'll be arriving on the 17th and leaving on the 23rd.

I am approaching my 2nd anniversary to my first visit, and I was quite intimidated. You can check out my Pattaya trip reports from, I guess, April and / or May of 2015 to read of my own reactions and feelings. Experienced world mongerors might laugh, but since you admit you might feel scared, reading my reports might bring some peace.

There is really nothing to be scared of there, only perhaps the fear of how you will handle yourself in the bars / clubs. I would recommend hitting Soi 6 first as it is almost impossible to fail there. Some of the girls will come out and pull you in. That might be ok, for even if you don't find her attractive, you can learn the ropes. And remember you can always say no, and even if you go with them for sex, if you don't want to waste a load, then don't. Just say you are too nervous, the leave, hit the street and go down a couple of bars until you see a girl you like, then you will be a Soi 6 pro! That will give you some confidence to hit the FL girls on BR, as well as WS.

3. Do I need to bring my own condoms, or does the girls / establishment provide them?

The ladies will have condoms at hand, but the best advice is to have your own from your home market if you are particular. That way you are familiar with the brand fit and feel. The ladies might inspect them to make sure they are acceptable quality. Condoms are an expense for them, so they really don't mind if you provide your own as long as they are legit.

You think you can plan all but within the first or second day you will see that your plans will have changed 360 degrees. Maybe the only intimidating thing is walking into a gogo bar the first time but just walk in confident and sit down somewhere, order a drink and try to control everything and not let 'them' control you But even if you will make a lot of 'mistakes' the first time I wouldn't see them as that but just as education Enjoy! You will love Pattaya. I just returned from my first trip and Pattaya is def. Much easier and more fun then Bangkok! Oh and visit the Sanctuary of Truth. It's nice taking a little break for 3 hours hehe.

Yes, I agree. I don't expect to plan out the entire trip. If anything, I'm only planning on the 1st and last days to make sure the trip starts well and ends well. Whatever happens in between, I'll let the heavens decide.

Oh, and I do plan seeing 2 touristy sightseeing, with the Sanctuary of Truth being one of my destinations. The other will be the Floating Market.

My comparison is mainly based on gogo bar numbers since I'm more or less a gogo bar guy. In June 2016 I think there were about 70% the number of girls compared to Dec 2016 / January 2017. However, the ratio was better in June / July 2016 with less than 50% of the guys. My numbers are complete guesses based on the bars I go to. In general, it's fairly quiet. I prefer slow season to high season.

If you haven't been I would suggest Phnom Penh any day over Singapore. Singapore is an amazing place to visit as a tourist but hobbying has a lot to be desired. Sure there are nice girls but just no fun whatsoever unless you want to overpay for ST. The hottest girl I met in Singapore was a Thai girl! PP has some damn fun bars. Khmer girls are humble and down to earth but be warned they are very clingy. PP RLD is not big but great for a 3-4 day layover.

Walk in, order a drink, pick a girl and she will take it from there. Next would have to be a GoGo from a place like BabyDolls on Soi 15 off Walking Street. Go in, pick a dancer rather than have one pick you and have a couple drinks to break the ice. These girls are for the most part experienced and very mutually hands on. If everything is to your liking offer short time and if you hit it off in your room keep her long time. After do some wondering and playing it by ear usually has things turn out for the best. Just beware of beer bar girls as most have some kind of agenda that may not mesh with yours. On a short visit you want to avoid duds.

Besides the above: After my first trip I got the Thailand fever that probably everyone catches after their first. I am planning to return in June / July and combine it this time with Philippines / Indonesia and perhaps one more (Singapore? Or would you hardly notice the difference nowadays? And how is BKK? I reckon because of summer holidays all over EU and USA surely it can't be much more quiet then winter? Or am I wrong again? And also: is there 'less on offer' regarding amount of girls in bars and clubs because it's 'low' season or is this also not so much the case anymore? Anyone who has visited Thailand in both months I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!
