This is only happening in Pattaya due to those stupid British tabloid articles. The girls will go to Bangkok and Phuket or start plying their trade in other countries like Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Korea, etc.

This is only speculation on my part. Pattaya is looking to build a world class casino with world class hotels. It will definitely be along the waterfront. When you look at Pattaya Beach Road 2 obvious huge lots of land come to mind. One is Bali Hai Pier and Walking Street and the other is from Soi 6 to Hotel Mera Mare. There may be one single high rise in that area between Beach Road and Second. I'm sure Walking Street generates much more income and tourists than the soi 6 stretch of Beach Road.

Club Rioja was busted today as well. Well at least we know it was open!

I have no doubt this move on Soi 6 is a move on Mr F. It's embarrassing for the Thai govt when there are articles about a farang being a "king pin" of a whole strip of clubs. This may be an incremental ban targeting him. They start with a partial closure in the off season, minimizing the impact on the women, but disproportionately impacting BF.

Am in Pattaya this weekend. Me and another guy and planning one night to have a few girls for same room fun. Might not be allowed in regular hotel even if green. Penthouse Hotel will allow but is expensive just for few hours and bit tacky. Any recommendations for short term hotels / rooms which are nice and clean and a bit classy for action like this. I agree with Bkkdog here. Even I have a premium membership and have had a fairly good success rate on TF. The profiles are not fake. Off course there may be a few exceptions but you can see thro' a fake profile and you can always ask for Line ID and video chat before fixing a meeting. I don't live in Thailand and the only downside is you need to start building the rapport atleast 2-3 weeks before your visit. But as Mr. E said you don't need that in Pattaya as you can find a girl as you walk out of your hotel. I have met quite a few girls in BKK thro' TF.

Have done ThaiFriendly over the past two years. Most don't want to chat with anyone who isn't in country. I have met a few on TF when I was close to arriving who were legit; though most, when it gets to down to it, are there for money. Add an app like "Line" and it's a precursor to meeting someone. This time around, I will only purchase a month to month membership. In summary, most on TF are freelancers, not that there's anything wrong with it.

The head of NightWish group of bars on Soi6 was on FaceBook asking about bar opportunities in Cambodia a couple days ago. This uncertainty will definitely cool things off in Pattaya.

Those girls still need to make money, and if not in the bars will they flood the streets or simply move online? If this restriction is successful, then what will they do next? WS gogos? I guess they can't do too much with the discos, so will all the bar girls flood the discos??

I saw this on the Thai Visa forum as well. Bummer, though guys there think things will be back to normal in a few weeks. I don't know. Harder to bribe the military. But I wonder if the venues can open earlier provided they don't serve alcohol. I am fine with that, but I fear with the reduced income, the bars will raise their bar fines. And mid-afternoon was my favorite time to stop by. Where to go now?

But seeing all the Chinese and even lots of couples / children on WS now, I can see that the Thai authorities have a reason to think they can turn Pattaya into a legit tourist attraction. Lots of Issan girls likely to lose their jobs, though the pretty ones might do better if they go online.

I am hoping to get back there in October. It will be a real bummer if my afternoon delight sessions are shot down. Sigh. Any news from you guys in Pattaya on what is happening and likely to happen?

Got some news from German forum: Actually, P4 P on Soi6 allowed from 18:00 only. No new licenses for gogos.

Seems like military is serious about targetting sex business in Pattaya.

Which might prop up dating sites, though.

Weffwef, unless you MUST be in Pattaya early the next morning why not take a 400 baht taxi to Bangkok. Have a night of fun in Bangkok, then take the bus / taxi to Pattaya noon the following day.

I will be landing at Suvarnabhumi airport on 22 June (10:15 PM local time) and then head out to Pattaya. By the time, I will complete visa on arrival, baggage collection process, etc. I believe the last bus (at 11 PM) will be gone. Is there any cheaper taxi that I can avail such as Uber or Grab Taxi. Any fellow monger who wants to go to Pattaya during that time is welcome to join and we can pool.

Uber and Grab taxi are not cheaper than regular taxis. Your best bet would be to arrange a ride before your trip but mostl likely just take a taxi from the airport. Should be about 1,000 plus 50 Baht. If you can't afford 1,000-1,500 for a taxi to Pattaya from the airport, you shouldn't be travelling to Pattaya. Sorry to say that.

You described it quite well mate, You hit the nail big time. I have been sort of visiting these sites, especially TF, for the last 8 years, on and off and had some amazing fresh freebies. Nowadays with all this smartphones era most of girls are using it as a platform or another option to hook up, stating strait away that they are freelance, some quoting even prices, so no wonder they abandon their interest if you are not getting in Thailand in let's say a week. From my experience I find this site as the perfect consolation post Pattaya holidays, At least virtually it still a connection. But besides the hit or miss-Photoshop, etc, I find nothing more exciting as going down the hunt your self in bars, discos, massage places and so on.

Agreed. But, you would not want to start getting contacts too much earlier than that, either. They will lose patience eventually or interest outright if you don't have an imminent arrival. I started contacting girls in November for a trip I had tentatively planned in February or March. Made contact with some nice girls from the get-go. But, by the beginning of the year, I was chatting on LINE with a different group of girls because the original contacts were disinterested or dropped out of sight. BTW, that trip never happened due to work related nonsense. And after two delays, I ended up visiting the LOS several months later in late November. Guess what, I had to make a new bunch of contacts again prior to that trip.

Given the ease of finding inexpensive P4P girls versus the time invested (not to mention emotional drama), I'm not sure I would want to bother with this option again unless I am out for a serious relationship. BTW, back in the day I contacted girls in Eastern Europe using FAPIA penpal ads, months in advance of a trip. We are talking snail mail. Nowadays, the millenials call this "pipelining" on social media. I guess that term would apply here. But, for the letters I sent via the global postal system the results were good. I hooked up with nice, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish and Czech girls as well as receiving free room and board. That was time well invested. The women would cook me meals, show me around the local sites and then open their legs for bareback sex. I just don't hear about this happening in the modern digital age. At least, not in Thailand.

First, 1000 baht is a lot of freakin money in these parts. (I could take the new ferry to Hua Hin 5 times or I could fill up my motorbike 10 times.
