Scam might be too strong a word. I'm basically talking about bad experiences with women who don't do what they promise, have a shitty attitude, don't look like the girl in the photos and perhaps even steal stuff from your hotel room or apartment. These stories are here and all over the review boards. I guess it's the risk of doing business for guys who like escorts.

I've been living close to there. As long as there are people about you should be fine. Some addicts and street walkers in the area, so not the best part of town. The food options near Kilt aren't that great, but there is a top notch grocery nearby.

No idea really as it will be my first visit in SP. From what I've read it is supposed to be a lot safer in recent years. Will stay pretty close to Avenida Paulista. Worst case scenario I'll go by uber which is no problem. Still seems like a good location being close to Centro / Metro / Casarao. Will report back in October.

Also seems to be one of the best areas for regular bars and nightlife. A couple of metro stations and shopping mall in the area. Very close to Centro. Only downside I can see is Moema with the clinicas is a little distant. But I'd rather be close to the night spots than the daytime joints.

I am sure there are scams, but I am still trying to find the angle someone could be using to try and run a scam on PhotoA.

Since the mongers can get the contact info for the girl for free, how would the scammers make money?

I have now sessioned with two girls and I don't see anyway a scam could work unless the setup is designed to later blackmail the John. These girls all seem to be in buildings that you must show ID at the front desk before getting let up to the flats. This last one made a photocopy of my Drivers Lic which has my name, home address etc. I guess they could find out if the guy was married and then try to blackmail him, but that seems kinda expensive and time consuming to set up a trap like that where prob most of the guys are not married, or would have the money to pay.

What am I missing?

Lonster, it's always great to hear someone had a good time. It's always a good idea to run the phone number and the name like Rovnak did on the popular local review board. You can avoid the big scammers. They are out there.

I did a search on the phone # of that Clara Mel, aka Carol Vasconcelos. She has reviews dating to 2010 and lists age as 26. She has 80 positive reviews and 4 negative. She also has a twitter feed. I suggest you look at her twitter feed and you can see her recent unphotoshopped photos there. I suspect there was no bait and switch involved. Other than the fact that she has probably gained some weight and lost some tone. Maybe the photos in her ad are older or just heavily photoshopped, they are clearly pro fotos. This is the typical experience of meeting a long time pro with pro photos. That don't show face.
